i stayed in desa park city before, it was a nightmare! house got broken into and the community there are made out of local people tying to hard to be westernized (socially awkward) .... been staying in mont kiara for the past 3 years and my family are settled in this amazing place .... with so many Japanese, Koreans, Europeans, other expats and matured local crowd living there for the past 15 years, it is closer to home ..... best place to live
Thank you so much for this vlog, you opened our eyes, my husband's especially. We owned a spacious 2,000 over sq apartment in Wangsa Maju (bought for when we return to Msia for retirement) but my husband thought of being closer to his kind - the Mat Sallehs. Honestly WM is not exactly MK but with this issue, I think we are fine in WM. Plus, no way we can still find an appartment or condo over 2000sq today for less than 1 mil. Thank you again, you saved us!
Hi Sean, i have been following you and enjoying your vblog. I am an Singaporean who used to stay in MK. I must say MK is still the place to stay in KL/Selangor.
I rather stay in Mont Kiara than they other places in KL or selangor. You cannot compare the standard of living there with OKR, Bukit Jalil, Cheras and PJ. There is a reason why there is zero property overhang in that area.
Hi Sean, The land in Mont Kiara now is scarce and the capital growth of the property is close to 0% or negative. Plus, there are now more and more condos being constructed in the Segambut area. So, I have a few questions which I hope you can provide me with answers haha. 1. If let's say the government reclaim the reserved land, chase away all those squatters, and redevelop the land, will it affect Mont Kiara in a good or bad way? 2. Which part of the land in Mont Kiara do you think is the most valuable? I heard some said the area where it's close to publika and some said where it's close to 1 mont kiara area. 3. Is it wise to buy a condo in Mont Kiara given the current economy standpoint? Thanks :)
Hi Ming Lai, let me address your questions yea: 1. Reserved land belongs to the state, where only people or companies who meet the criteria of the required status can develop those area. Of course the value of properties in Jalan Kiara 3 will rise when the streetscape is improved with brand new projects. So definitely good. 2. I personally love condos around Kiara 2, where it's walking distance for me to either go 163 retail and 1 mont kiara area, or solaris hartamas area yet at the same time enjoy the serenity and amazing lanscape. 3. Yes. But it's really case to case basis. Some buildings may be aged so do your site visit before deciding. Plus you can always do your research on the current rental rates against your purchase price=) Hope these answers your questions!!
@@iherng Hey Sean, as you mentioned about "aged condos", what do you think about the condition of condos built in the 90s along Jalan Kiara 1, eg. Mont Kiara Pines, Palma, Pelangi, Angkupuri etc. I remember you mentioned that due to the matured development and expat population in the area, even 20-30 year old condos are still well maintained and can still fetch a good price.
Hope I get this right. If you're talking about whether can a person live in Mont Kiara with the income of RM 5k-6k, it would be a bit tough unless they are renting. This is because a unit in Mont Kiara is around RM 700k in average, which means RM 3500 in monthly installments. In order to qualify for loan, an individual or joint income level should be around RM9000 for a comfortable financing. Hope this answers your question.
Betul!! Terima kasih yea:)

Like your videos. Very informative. I think it would be even better if there's map to help us to visualize the proximities.
Hi Eric. Thanks for the suggestion, I really appreciate it. In fact, I've adopted them on my more recent videos. Maybe you could check'em out too=)
