Josh and Chelsea, you two are the greatest. I’m an 80 year old pilot that doesn’t fly anymore, I love your videos, it makes me feel like I’m in the cockpit with you guys. Keep up the great work you two do. Thank you
Josh is definitely the gold standard as it relates to aviation TH-camrs. I remember the first time I saw one of his videos and I was thinking to myself, everybody may wanna be like Mike, but I wanna be like Josh anyway, I am so inspired by these videos, not for the ridiculously amazing production value, but for travel tips and ideas as well. Keep doing what you’re doing brother Josh, you are an inspiration to your aviation community and beyond. Fly well, and God bless!
So, half way thru this extended trip and I'm feeling that I'm there with you. Aviation 101 seems to have become two people who share their life through the video. It's very intimate, which generates a feeling of family in me, as if I am part of your family. I think this sets you apart from other youtubers who are either quite technical, such as instructing on tear drop entries, and others who seem to use the platform for "here we are flying in our plane" (again). Yet your videos have grown to encompass the local environs, customs, weather, and your reactions to and integration with the destinations you choose. Bravo! On your uniqueness and of course the technical skills of scripting, shooting, editing, etc.-which is done so well that it is basically invisible to the viewer. Thank you.
Oh man, thanks so much for the kind words and great feedback. Staying unique and relevant is difficult on social media these days, but comments like yours reassure me that I’m on the right track. Thanks so much for the support 🙌🏼
Absolutely loved this film Josh & Chelsea. You guys are a true inspiration and ambassadors for life itself. Thank you so much, keep this stuff coming, we never will tire of watching it 😊😊
Thanks so much. It was a lot of time chained to the desk, headphones on, hard focus… so worth it in the end to share these memories with all of you. Cheers. 🍻
You and Chelsea are so blessed to be privileged to mix work with pleasure and passion. And it shows in the quality of your products. And glad to see 991 survived that heron's "attack." Fly safe! Jim
This is stunning. Easily your best work. I really liked the drone footage. The sound incorporation was flawless. And the well timed flashbacks. Simply Awesome!
There are very, very few TH-cam channels that can produce a 1:23:39 hr. video that people will click on and watch. Aviation 101 is one of them. The cinematography, story, music, etc. make it seem like a 30 minute video...
I really love what you two are doing. I used to fly out from SNA to Catalina and have lunch (Buffalo Burger) then back. Total time 1hr 20 min. I also trained out of SNA and right when I was going IFR I went and broke my back. Your videos keep me sane as I don't get in the air anymore and keep hoping I'll get back up one day :-) Tom
Josh and Chels, absolutely entertaining. It's not like many flight youtubers where we are very aware they are trying to "teach" you something. Before we realize it, we are so invested in the story. We are interested in watching the two of you and it's only later we realize we learned something new. An example was "microbursts". I've heard of them but, even catching the discussion between you about the possibility, I learned somethings new. And, only later, as you reiterated how dangerous they can be, did I realize you were sharing something very important to other pilots. "Have a very healthy respect for nature!" If Josh could be that concerned, another pilot should certainly be paying attention to the possibility. Just that discussion could save lives. I felt like I was sitting in your back seat overhearing your discussions. You both have such a rare talent for entertaining, for instructing without us knowing we are your students. Your photography, editing and storytelling is equal or better than any on TH-cam. And, as one who has followed you since your high school flying career, Josh, am so impressed with where you are in your journey. The two of you are so good together, you feed off each other. It is such a natural progression watching you. The views, both drone and cameras, are National Geographic good. You both show such an appreciation for the land and for those around you. Thank you both for this amazing journey.
Josh, Chelsea - you guys are the best filmmakers. Love everything about this. Been taking a break from flying while I save up some cash for future licenses. Really want to get back into the left seat now thought after seeing this 😀
Thanks Josh and Chelsea, great work! Loved that you showed the good, bad and ugly of GA. Lots of educational moments in this video for low time pilots like me.
Great job Josh! I also learned to fly into the storm cell. Not sure I would have thought about that in the moment but I will now. Chels nailed that tailwind landing too! Love your content!
Just missed you guys at T89 a year ago in late March 2023. Two plane loads of Bonanzas (1 A36 and our V35B, N3822U.) from western Oklahoma on a golfing escapade for a group of seventy-somes. You all are certainly correct about the people, friendliness and customs. One of our best memories was meeting the mayor of Terlingua - she was a goat! REALLY! Enjoy following your adventures…
Great film, guys!! Had a little bit of everything in that one! Glad you were able to taxi straight into the hanger ahead of that storm. As always, looking forward to the adventures ahead!!😀
Aw man your killing me with all the Tex-Mex food footage. Born and spent my formative years in San Antonio and I miss the food the most. Even in NYC, almost impossible to find real TexMex. Thanks for taking us along.
Josh - i have been with you for a very long time. This has to be the absolutely BEST piece of work you have ever produced! I knew it when I first saw you and Chelsie together - you make an amazing team together. Keep doing the right things in life and take care of each other.
Excellent video guys, it had it all from the crazy golf ball sized hail to the scary bird strike! Amazing scenery and great company made for a perfect feature length video, nice work guys😊
Josh, I've been a very long time subscriber and I just want to say how amazing it has been to see your TH-cam channel evolve. The production quality is just absolutely stunning, and I love the little life lessons you throw into each video. You've been such an inspiration for so many pilots. Please keep up the amazing work!
Thank you for sharing this amazing video. I always feel like i am going on a shot vacation when watching these videos, with incredible videography. Now even more places in the USA are added to the bucketlist to visit in the future. Keep inspiring us with these relaxing, yet informative and entertaining videos!
My bride and I really enjoyed this video. You two are the power couple of aviation, best content out there. When we came to the end my bride said they do the very best music mix, I agreed. Thanks for the beautiful ride along on this southwest adventure.
Awesome video, per usual. I just had my first bird strike a couple weeks ago as well coming back into KLYH from KGSO at night but like you’ve said, just fly the plane. Interesting experience! Thanks again for the video!
You both are such excellent pilots. The weather and bird strikes are never things to mess around with and you did the right things to ensure your safety and the safety your aircraft. When you said you weren't sure if you could make it in for a landing because of the thunderstorm, I know what Chelsea felt when she said, "really!?" Because if you are concerned it must be bad. I really enjoy the longer content. Keep up the great job. You are both great representatives for aviation. ❤️🙏
Awesome! Thanks for the feedback - I’m experimenting with longer videos like this, as opposed to multiple “parts” of a series. That being said, I have a few shorter flying-related videos that will come from this project.
Amazing video, I would love to see more videos like this in the future. I can only imagine the time spent in the production phase. Keep up the great work and know we all appreciate your content.
Utterly mesmerizing, fantastic trip and video! I just got my PPL a month ago and just got married 2 years ago. Been itching to get my feet wet with a trip like this with my copilot! But until a break from school and work comes, I’m glad I can have your videos. Thanks!
it looked to me like the bird hit the prop before it hit the windscreen. I'm sure Josh checked the prop and the rest of the plane. Nice job and another fantastic video!
Another amazing video and great example of how to fly safely with some amazing travel tips in the midst of it all. You two are so well prepared and communicate so well, in the cockpit and otherwise. Fun to see. Thanks so much for this site.
Fantastic !! I always really enjoy your content and I love the way you two are when you fly together. Great to see "Big Bend" again - never been but it's now on my bucket list if I am ever planning a trip stateside. Looks awesome !!. Stay safe, see you again soon !
Just outstanding! Thank you. Excelant story telling. Very well done, incorporating aviation best practices, theory, crew resouce management and sound decision making into your story. Thank you again, Chelsea and Josh.
Absolutely beautiful work as always, Josh. I'm swooning over the chemistry of the two of you. I'm hauled up with a bad ankle sprain and this was the perfect cure to my boredom; it kept me engaged the whole way. Keep up the amazing work!
Ha! That’s our red-tailed Archer in the shelter at Lajitas. We must have left the day after you but you were behind the hangar doors when we arrived. Evening thunderstorms were a nice break from the heat for sure.
Thanks for sharing a wonderful vacation with us! It took me almost 20 years to convince my wife that we needed a down day on vacation so I’m glad to see that you are realizing it this early. Blue skies and tailwinds.
That feeling some people get when they hear there’s a new Avengers or Mission Impossible movie being released, that’s how I feel when I hear there’s a new Aviation101 post. Thanks for all the hard work and great storytelling Josh! As I pilot I also appreciate the little tips and reminders that are embedded too.
Thanks Josh. I can’t stress enough the connection and beauty of your videos. Big Bend especially hits home as a fellow Texan who loves the desert mountains there. It’s such a special place. Thanks so much for this (and all your videos). You’re the Keep Your Daydream channel of aviation, a perfect blend of travel, culture, and technical aspects too. I’m at the check ride prep stage of getting my PPL up at KTKI, and I love that your videos keep adding to my flying bucket list. Now I just have to figure out how to afford everywhere I want to go!
Hey Josh, when I saw N51A I remembered the first video I saw on TH-cam. It was 2015, and I had started my PPL at a small flying club in central Portugal. I would have my first flight in a few days and I went to find out about the pre-flight inspection of the Cessna C152. So, I found a video of an American kid, explaining the procedure in detail. I found it super useful! Since then, I have followed all the videos and watched the evolution. It was through the channel that I discovered Oshkosh! (a sin I know) I have to go there one day. What I like about aviation (in GA, at least) is this sense of community, even with an ocean in the middle we have this common ground and this passion that unites us as a global community. AVIATION! We appreciate your efforts to provide us with some escapism. Loved the tidbit about your early days in the 150. My school friend the airline pilot has a few 150’s (various family are pilots), and extended an open invite to just “go flying”. We shall make time in the near future.
Right now I am training to get my PPL. I just did a flight plan for a flight tomorrow to pennsylvania. I have about 20 hours in the log book. These videos always inspire me to pursue my flying dreams.
Josh and Chelsea, you two are the greatest. I’m an 80 year old pilot that doesn’t fly anymore, I love your videos, it makes me feel like I’m in the cockpit with you guys. Keep up the great work you two do. Thank you
PS, I have a lot of time in a 172 Cessna.
An almost hour and a half video not on cockpit club?! What did we do to deserve this treat?!
Nice work Josh & Chels enjoyed flying with you guys
Being a loyal support is all I can ask for! 🤟🏼 More How-to filming stuff coming soon on Cockpit Club.
Fantastic job!! Been following you guys for a few years and this is your best work.
@@scottspaine4864totally agree!
Why am I subscribed to cockpit club?
Thunderstorms, hail, bird strikes, and BBQ. Josh your content is second to none. Thanks for making my Saturday night! Safe flying!
I’m glad you liked it! Thanks so much for the support. 🙌🏼
Thank you for sharing this feature-length adventure with us. Please know all your passion and effort are so appreciated by those of us watching.
Thanks for the kind words - your support means a ton!

Thanks so much. It was a lot of time chained to the desk, headphones on, hard focus… so worth it in the end to share these memories with all of you. Cheers. 🍻
Josh, your filmmaking just keeps getting better and better with each video. This one was a masterpiece. Well done!
This episode is awesome. I love your content! I also love the Big Bend. But you also worked in such a diverse set of subjects. Just excellent.
I have to say, the quality of your work is absolutely amazing. Keep up the fantastic work!

Love the way you discussed and reasoned out the discussion to land 25 instead of 07. Made a lot of sense given the weather.
