It is quite rare for me to sit for an hour and watch one piece of content. With yours, however, it is always a joy. Grab a beverage and snacks and take in the awesome views and stories. Thanks to the two of you for sharing your adventures. It is wonderful.
Same here - I was just discussing Josh’s channel format yesterday with another pilot friend. He doesn’t like the long format videos because he feels they are boring and I’m just the opposite. I look forward to sitting in my morning spot, in the recliner, by my fireplace drinking my morning coffee and watching Josh’s latest video. It’s peaceful and entertaining and I genuinely like to hear his voice and perspective on any given topic. Love the content Josh! Keep it coming!
Josh, another beautiful and entertaining video. I noticed that you used your apple watch to check your O2. At the NAFI conference earlier this week, Ron Timmermans and Dr. Greg Ricca discussed an important point. The frequency that the apple watch uses cannot discern between carboxyhemoglobin and oxyhemoglobin. To an apple watch, blood cells bonded to oxygen look the same as blood cells bonded to carbon monoxide. Using a pulse oximeter is a more accurate way of measuring blood cells bonded to oxygen.
This is interesting to me, I have both a pulse oximeter and an apple watch. Granted I use an Ultra 2 but I assume the sensors are the same across watches and I usually have my pulse oxi and my apple watch within 1% of each other with the apple watch usually showing a lower concentration. I will do some research because that would be pretty bad for me given that most of my O2 measurements come from my watch.
How cool is that? Aviation101 meets JP! Awesome…Please more of this Kind of Crossovers…wish you Josh with Chelsea and JP and the Team of Sling the best. I guess at the end it will be the TSI! Greetings from EDMJ
This is the Aviation-Community we all love. Watching an Aviation-Video recorded and produced by two TH-camrs (Josh & Chelsea) in the States, reading about crossovers with "another Aviation-Enthusiast" from southafrica (JP) and finding someone from my future aeronautical home-base EDMJ. That's how aviation connects! :@Josh and Chelsea: You just make everything just look simple and fun, but seriously: Thanks from someone who starts flying "a little bit later". It's difficult. Your Videos, the incredible views and the clear and simple explanations always encourage me to keep on pushing to hopefully get my first license by the end of this year 🙂 Whatever Plane you two choose: We all will stick to you!
INCREDIBLE! I really loved this video Josh and Chelsea! It is rare for me to sit and watch a video for an hour especially flying small planes because I don’t mind flying a plane for an hour. I just don’t always love watching videos of others doing so but this video was really entertaining and excellently, edited and produced! I really do hope you go with the Sling HW as both look great but the views look exponentially better from the HW in my opinion! I also loved the concept of truly taking these aircraft on a cross country trip as it’s super important to test! 😎 Also love the Flying Eyes sunglasses 🕶️ as always too! Cheers 🥂 guys! I also remember at 35:00 the last time you flew to Canada 🇨🇦 on 3 Countries in 3 Weeks with the C172 in Collingwood and Toronto City Airport! 😎 Wishing You Blue Skies & Tailwinds! -Caleb
Team Hiwing! You have to look at this as a life long asset. There will come a time when climbing on a wing, down into a cockpit and getting out the cockpit and off the wing without issues will be a problem. The High wing is not as fast, not as sexy but will be the most advantageous when you are seniors.
The TSi is amazing I'm sure. Between the two it's the sports car and the HW is more like the SUV. Sports cars are amazingly fun at first, but in the end comfort wins out, especially for long trips. The sportyness of the TSi may wear off after a bit, but the practicality of the HW will be appreciated for years to come. Filming, entry/exit, passengers (maybe kids one day), and shade from the sun are all better with the HW. Whichever one you choose, I'm along for the ride. I enjoy your videos!
HI Josh and Chelsea. I have been watching ALL of your video's for several years now and love every minute of each video. I am so excited about your upcoming decision for a new airplane, your engagement, and future life together. Your video editing was always good, but you have reached a new level with the scenery and music in this video. I Loved watching the entire episode, and look forward to seeing each new adventure. It is as if we are living your life vicariously through you. May God Bless you both. Keith from Kentucky. (Louisville) I have never met either of you in person, but hope to some day.
Beautiful production Josh. Noted HW shade/LW sun for hours will affect comfort. Went from 182 to SR22 and Jet shades solved the low-wing glare. The difference in gross weight between the planes will more likely affect your travel than speed. Gear + growing family = useful load considerations and range. You don’t want to finish the build and have grown out of the airplane. You and your fiancé will make the right choice. BTW there is a difference flying in a plane that has a BSR. Fly safe
The Sling videos have been some of the most interesting you have ever done. Most of my flight training was in Piper and Beech aircraft, so have always favored the low wing design. Of course, I will always remember my first flight in a light single, when my Air Force pilot Dad took me up at ten years old in the ugliest maroon colored 1952 Piper Stinson (high wing for those who are wondering) you've ever seen. I was hooked from that day on! Would really like to have a TSi for my simulator, if that gives any developers an idea.
I have goose bumps. A sensational day for you. These planes, these landscapes. Just so beautiful. I love the way Chelsea flies and lands the Sling. She is really talented. And look into her eyes when she talks about the Sling LW. Indescribable. I think that's what it's going to come down to? I'm already looking forward to the next video. It's fun to watch you both. Thanks for taking me on this breathtaking journey. ❤😊
As a South African aviation enthusiast living in the UK seeing SA snacks on one of my favourite aviation channels is so awesome. Josh fyi Biltong is air dried beef while the American jerky is dried by smoking it... Very similar results but different methods. PS got the craving for fritoes after watching this video 😂 might have to visit our local SA shop shortly
Josh and Chelsie you’re guy’s camera work, editing and story line is just mesmerizing to watch and just a joy to be able to enjoy those amazing views with you!!! I am such a fan of your work and content. Keep bringing a smile to all viewers, and a way to enjoy General Aviation from your perspective 👨🏻✈️🫡
Strutless high wing and two big doors is better than a slightly faster low wing in three big ways. Plus, it makes for the better camera ship. So the decision is obvious. Edit: really well done video. I loved the views and music choices.
I made a skydive from 18,500 Ft in Anchorage Alaska in 1972.We were using a de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter .19 of us didn't have oxygen but the pilots did. From takeoff to altitude was about 20 minutes . Free fall time was about 90 seconds....Fun times. PS : I love these 2 planes. This is one of the best channels on Aviation . Be Safe and Blue Skys .
So nice to see you in my home town of Vernon Chelsea and Josh. I just got back from an evening snowshoeing with friends. I’ve been watching since the early years in Texas. I had to sell my share of a PA28-181 when I moved back to Canada from the US this summer so maybe a Sling is in my future. I’ll have to go talk with the boys down at Rotax.
Josh, I know it's been said but I'll say it again... beautiful editing. You really do bring us with you on your adventures. Thanks for all the time you spend on your videos.
As most of my 2,000 hours are in tail draggers that's where I would go. On seeing JP's Sling again since the epic SA to Oshkosh tour and his build, the Sling HW TG is out and out the most stunning aircraft of the group. Josh you like me and 10 to 1 overthought this order, either way this will lead you to always wonder what if, always remember, you didn't make a mistake. Epic flight by the way.
Coming into the land of volcanoes. So excited you got to see it (again, as I recall). I'm a retired geologist and educator who lives in Ellensburg, WA. The volcanoes are as impressive from the ground as well.
Great video and series. I didn’t meet you guys at the Oshkosh Sling Ding but chatted with JP as I have a HW TD being factory built for AUS delivery. The additional space for cross country, especially in the back, gives the win to the HW for me. BRS equiped for sure. I fly a LSA bush Cub so the TD option for the HW is a bonus for me.
That was such an incredibly beautiful and fun video!! Thanks for taking us along with you. I hope you get to fly up around Banff at some point. It is so beautiful. I've been fortunate to be able to go up there twice in my lifetime. Happy flying!!
WOW! Amazing Josh and Chels. Though I am always following you because of the love of aviation 🛩, your videos 🎥are getting better and better. Thank you for the hour long entertaiment. Danny
I loved your video you were flying a Sling which has to be my favourite Experimental and you flew into my Country. I loved your previous trip into Canada (Sault Ste Marie and Toronto.🇨🇦
Excellent video Josh and Chelsea. I have said it many times and will continue to say it, your camera work, editing and story lines are absolutely incredible. BC looks absolutely stunning. I hope someday I can see it for myself. Thank you for all the hard work you put into your awesome videos. Safe skies my friends. 🇺🇸🛩️
From a Photographers sand point, looking out the window of the AC you can see so much more in a high wing. Yes, the Low wing is faster but what are your needs and goals. Getting they're fast or slow and enjoy the view?
Loved the video and loved seeing views of nortern California. Looks like you flew over my old hometown of Paradise. Can't wait for the next video in this great series!
Fantastic video and looking forward to see which Sling you choose. South African and Canadian here so doubly proud. They should have given you chicken Biltong so you would have to choose between the high wing and low wing there too. Definitely take a trip across BC to Alberta after your Sling is built. Canmore is another gorgeous valley. You cannot land there but a drive from Calgary, Cranbrook or a local airport is great. If the two of you like snowboarding Fernie is outstanding.
PS Most of us South Africans seem a bit "nuts" like Elon but you do have a jol (party) when you hang out with us and get to know us. We are not that bad lol.
cant believe you guys were at my home airport MFR!! would be so cool to meet you guys!! Beautiful video Josh keep up the good work and look forward to watching the build
It's wild to see the footage over the fires in the PNW because I happened to be on a road trip headed down the coast to rainier, crater lake, etc. at the same time you guys were on this flight!
This video was so good. It was over before I was done watching it! Definitely the _best_ hour of aviation that I've seen in _years!_ 😊 Thank you so much! ❤ I'm looking forward to part two! 😃
8:30 since it's ahhhh AN ... experimentemental ;) you could do something such as ''add a slot where a pusher bar would fit into so you would be pushing on the BAR above and aft of the wheels where you would be normally pushin the strutt.... is there such a pusher bar thingie?
Josh and Chelsie, its such a great joy to watch and continue to learn. Your videos are so good I have picked up flying again after 8 years. Starting out as a beginner again but thats ok.
IMHO, whatever plane you choose, it will be a great choice for you and it will show us which type of flyer you are. Some people love aerobatics and always fly in the same location, some love autogiros and slow ultralights to do sightseeing, some want to travel far and fast, etc. I personally have an atmospheric Mooney Ovation 1 and I regularly fly at FL120-130. It does 185 kts and consumes 12gph. Guess what kind of flyer I am. 😉
An amazing video watching a couple of gorgeous aircraft flown by 2 (+2) super talented pilots over spectacular landscapes. I’ve gone past my bed time watch this all in one go! Best wishes from Wales, UK.
I rarely sit and watch an hour-long video nonstop - I did this time. Great documentation of your mutual decision-making process and the adventures it's taken you on. On a side note, you inspired me to get my A&P; I'm beginning an Associate's degree program in the fall that will qualify me to take the exams and prepare me to pass them. Thank you so much for everything you do!
Two awesome aircraft being piloted by four exceptional pilots over some of the most beautiful terrain possible. What more can we ask for? Thanks for taking us along on the journey!!
Welcome to Canada Josh and Chelsea! Our daughter, son-in-law and three granddaughters live in Vernon and we camp there for a month or so every summer with our grandkids. Love your video documentation of this great trip. My "dream" would be to one day be able to fly myself into Vernon, however, my pilot experience was thwarted when I was 16 due to medical (hearing) issues and is unlikely to be fulfilled now at age 74. Nevertheless, I dream with every TH-cam video I watch! 😶
if they get a good reputation for being safe and reliable Sling will enable alot more people to be aircraft owners who have been priced out of the new high performance market by textron and the others. Heck the HW is hittin hard on the 182s specs and with much more affordable per hour cost including a turbo!!
What an amazing episode!!! So excited that JP was there as well. I have to say it would be difficult for me to choose as well. But I see the draw for both but I may be team #TSI 😳🤔😮😂
It's often rare to find me sitting for an hour plus to watch a video in one sitting, however with your's Josh it is ALWAYS worth the watch and the most entertaining and educational content I can be watching as a young (18yo) student pilot who cannot wait to get into these amazing adventures with my fiance in the coming years. Also, I might a JP/Josh collab. That would be amazing!
Josh , those aircraft are fantastic, maybe you should take the low wing since you been flying high wing for decades,😂, just take both of them because of the improved performance to fulfill your convenience of long distance adventure.
Josh - you flew into Kelowna and Vernon😮. Kelowna is my home base. Good call on going on the inside of that big hill when you were on right down wind for 16 Ha. I wish I was Flying that day. I would’ve walked over and said hello to all of you. I love the Sling TSI. That’s so neat that you know JP he’s the one after watching his build videos. Got me on the Slings. Beautiful planes dang. I am so looking forward to the second video coming out with you flying in my backyard. Hit me up if you are ever in Western Canada again. Love to go flying with you and show you around. Give JP a hi-five for me when you see him next.😊
As someone who started pilot training in Medford all the way to part 121 while watching and learning from your videos, it’s pretty surreal to see you and Chelsea pass through my home airport. I still love your content to this day.
Outstanding video!! The low wing looks sleeker and more beautiful in my opinion… but I’ve owned my 1963 P-35 Bonanza for 35 years and am low wing biased!!
GREAT VIDEO GUYS !!! I have to say that the quality of your videos and sound have improved a lot since the earlier days, to the point to be "fantastic" and every day they seem to get better. Welcome to "Beautiful British Columbia" !!! 👋😉 🇨🇦
Absolutely beautiful flights! You flew over one of my favorite places on the planet - Crater Lake. It's even more amazing from the ground/water! I have to admit - I'm with Chelsea - TSi all the way!
It is quite rare for me to sit for an hour and watch one piece of content. With yours, however, it is always a joy. Grab a beverage and snacks and take in the awesome views and stories. Thanks to the two of you for sharing your adventures. It is wonderful.

Josh you are by far the absolute best aviation channel on TH-cam.
That’s debatable! I wouldn’t say any are really bad or good but they are all different and great in their own ways 😅
Josh, another beautiful and entertaining video.
I noticed that you used your apple watch to check your O2. At the NAFI conference earlier this week, Ron Timmermans and Dr. Greg Ricca discussed an important point. Showing the shots from the two planes of crater lake makes it a no brainer, high wing. That and you won’t cook in the summer.
Yeah, I was surprised no one mentioned the sun exposure in the TS
How cool is that? Aviation101 meets JP! Awesome…Please more of this Kind of Crossovers…wish you Josh with Chelsea and JP and the Team of Sling the best. I guess at the end it will be the TSI! Greetings from EDMJ

“I picked the wrong week to give up sniffing alcohol swabs” 🤣 Perfect timing on that ‘Airplane’ reference 😂
Glad someone else got it lol.
It has got to be the ‘Spitfire’ You’ve already got a high wing😎 Chelsea loves it and it looks sporty and sick in the air and on the ground 🔟
Team Hiwing! You have to look at this as a life long asset. There will come a time when climbing on a wing, down into a cockpit and getting out the cockpit and off the wing without issues will be a problem. The High wing is not as fast, not as sexy but will be the most advantageous when you are seniors.
Sometimes you gotta live for today. Tomorrow will take care of itself in due time.
Especially if you have older parents now and want to fly with them or to them or take them back home with you
The TSi is amazing I'm sure. Between the two it's the sports car and the HW is more like the SUV. Sports cars are amazingly fun at first, but in the end comfort wins out, especially for long trips. Your videos are just pure adventure. Nothing else like them!
The ease of ingress and egress of the high wing seals the deal for me.

@11:08 - drinking coffee during a cross country preflight. Daring. I'd be making a pitstop in Santa Clarita

Beutiful flight in most capable aircraft...I can see a possible tough decision on which to choose...
Thx Josh and Chelsea and the Sling crew.

Great to see AV101 meet the Sling team. Proud South African here. BTW The mystery spice in the biltong is coriander seed.
E P I C !! Josh, Chelsea, I love your videos but I honestly think that's the best one yet.Fantastic.

The additional space for cross country, especially in the back, gives the win to the HW for me. BRS equiped for sure. I fly a LSA bush Cub so the TD option for the HW is a bonus for me.
Ding 🔔 for the hi wing Sling.
Fantastic, Chris in Uk. 👍👍👍
That was such an incredibly beautiful and fun video!! Thanks for taking us along with you. I hope you get to fly up around Banff at some point. It is so beautiful. I've been fortunate to be able to go up there twice in my lifetime. Happy flying!!
Good morning from Minnesota! What an amazing opportunity and experience!!
One of your best videos. Every GA company should have you create such an informative and useful story.
WOW! Amazing Josh and Chels. Though I am always following you because of the love of aviation 🛩, your videos 🎥are getting better and better. Thank you for the hour long entertaiment. Danny
Another great video Josh. I look forward to the next and the eventual announcement! JP's TWHW is a cool looking plane.
Great, now I want a Sling HW. I gotta say, the Sling guys are very cool! Great video!
What a pleasure to see this video pop up and watch you enjoy a longer trip in the two Sling planes.
I loved your video you were flying a Sling which has to be my favourite Experimental and you flew into my Country. I loved your previous trip into Canada (Sault Ste Marie and Toronto.🇨🇦
Thanks Josh for sharing these magical moments
I'm so excited to see you two on this new journey.
Excellent video Josh and Chelsea. I have said it many times and will continue to say it, your camera work, editing and story lines are absolutely incredible. BC looks absolutely stunning. Wow, thanks for taking me along! Beautiful. Fly safe!
Enjoying as usual. Jim Cook Olive Branch,MS still voting on high wing. Love the joy stick.
Superb videography and editing. Thanks for sharing your adventure.
Thanks to both of you for sharing this video, always enjoyable! Please keep up the great work
That was quite beautiful. I hope more now to get back in the air.
Josh and Chelsie, its such a great joy to watch and continue to learn. Your videos are so good I have picked up flying again after 8 years. Starting out as a beginner again but thats ok.
Josh: Happy life, happy wife, it's going to be the low wing and another stellar production that has left my eyes moist again.

Didn't think when I started watching you years ago that I would see you cruising in my local airspace (BC). I hope you enjoyed!
I’m not even in the market for an aircraft right now, yet here I am trying to decide which I want.
I rarely sit and watch an hour-long video nonstop - I did this time. Great documentation of your mutual decision-making process and the adventures it's taken you on. Wish I'd watched these last two videos on my home television screen!
I love it when Josh flies over my home state... I know I am lucky to live where I do...
What a great video. Those Slings look slick as.
Beautiful. Thank you for taking us along on this journey.
Two awesome aircraft being piloted by four exceptional pilots over some of the most beautiful terrain possible. What more can we ask for? Thanks for taking us along on the journey!!

Epic trip yet again. Production 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 😃
i am falling in love with the low-wing but for filming, I like the high-wing for camera positions
BILTONG!!!!!!! OMG, gimme, gimme - crushed coriander seeds. Saffie here from Thailand. Miss the biltong.
Look at the tap dance Chelsea did for that landing in Washington state!!!! Amazing!!!
Dude your videos are gold !!!! LOVE THEM
Thanks for a fabulous video. I am looking forward to your Sling build & further travels. Cheers from Bowral, New South Wales, Australia.
Such a beautiful film. Thank you.
Amazing episode! My wife wants a sling now 😂 We visited Kelowna from the uk in September too and got a flight in at Kamloops up the road.
Love your videos, very professional and informative 🇿🇦🇿🇦
fun watching you land at a familiar airport KMFR, great vid!
LOADING/UNLOADING HW vs TSI ????? Compared to a Skyhawk or Archer ???
if they get a good reputation for being safe and reliable Sling will enable alot more people to be aircraft owners who have been priced out of the new high performance market by textron and the others.
Stunning scenery. Can't wait to see the next episode. Amazing work
It's often rare to find me sitting for an hour plus to watch a video in one sitting, however with your's Josh it is ALWAYS worth the watch and the most entertaining and educational content I can be watching as a young (18yo) student pilot who cannot wait to get into these amazing adventures with my fiance in the coming years.
Also, I might a JP/Josh collab. That would be amazing!
Chelsea, repeat after me, High Wing; High Wing. That wasn't so hard, was it?
Absolutely love the video. You both are amazing
Josh , those aircraft are fantastic, maybe you should take the low wing since you been flying high wing for decades,😂, just take both of them because of the improved performance to fulfill your convenience of long distance adventure.
It's a kid's dream to be able to have this kind of adventures with such great airplanes and a lovely partner!
Great filmmaking, Sir!!
I have flown from the San Juan Islands in WA to Kelowna several times - it’s a beautiful place up there.
I grew up in Aviation. My dad was a Piper and Cessna dealer. I learned to fly in a Cherokee 180. I'm with Chelsea. Go for the TSI...
At 50:40 every Canadians gonna love that. Kalauna hahaha
Those views over the mountains though, wow.
Absolutely beautiful flights! You flew over one of my favorite places on the planet - Crater Lake. It's even more amazing from the ground/water!
I have to admit - I'm with Chelsea - TSi all the way!
Outstanding video, so entertaining! I am not a pilot, I always tune in because I learn about a fascinating way of life! Thank you for that.
Love the channel, after owning a 182 then moving over to an A36. I would go with a low wing. They sit on the air and give you a much smoother ride.
