The controlls are obviously meant for controllers. Why else have a Mouse-Cursor in the Inventory ON TOP of a pointing hand that actually highlights the item? I'd recommend switching to controller.. it feels way more natural at least in terms of Inventory management. Is there a way to alter Keyboard controlls? That would at least fix the Heal/Crouch problem. I'm playing it on PS4.. so no idea. :/
I accidentally heal on the ps4, trying to swing my knife when Im bored. its default as r2 and l2 as attack but I switched it to r1 & l1 because Im used to playing Last of Us Multiplayer. And I keep forgetting which ones is which for some reason. lol

You handled that first Jack fight really well, dude. I died twice to him because I didn't find the car keys right away. I picked up the gun right away and found all the ammo and health, and I assumed you had to battle it out until he "died" and then pick the keys off of him and break through the garage door using the car to escape the building. lol
I love how John is being chased down a hall by his insane kidnapper wielding a knife and he just stops to take/view items like, "Hey this is pretty cool!"
So he either steals control of the wheel and forces the car into steel beams or he drives it himself if you don't find the key and does doughnuts in a garage, I love it.
You've already missed a couple of cool moments (not whining about it) which I think you'll enjoy if you see them in other vids/replay the game. They seemed to put in a lot of detail during the opening sections at least (im only a couple of hours in).
First episode: PSYCHO EX LOVER Stabs the living shit out of you and claims it's all for love. Second Episode: What the ever loving fuck is going on?! IS THIS A ROB ZOMBIE FILM?!

I don't get how the hand got reattached. You can't just staple a hand back onto a bloody stump and have it work again. There are arteries and blood vessels and muscles and things all that have to be reattached as well. I doubt even a surgeon could perform that kind of surgery in a house like that, without the proper surgical tools. And yet, Ethan uses it as if it had never been cut off to begin with. I'm just saying.
and it feels like they want gruesome scenes to happen to ethan in VR without them being all game overs hence the face stab the hand can get chopped off and such

I watched Mark and Jack play this when it came out and only discovered John in 2018 so I never even knew the garage fight could be done this way! It's amazing that if you're quick while he's killing the cop YOU are one that gets to squish people with the car lol. These early hours where things differ and extra scenes exist according to how you played it are amazing. Other examples are Jack bursting through the wall if you go to get the hatch key while he's chasing you and him cutting off Ethan's leg if he catches you trying to open the hatch in the pantry. Zoe re-attaching Ethan's hand and Ethan reattaching his own leg with a little first aid liquid are the very early hints that Ethan has already been infected. (I wonder what it was that infected him first, though? Mia's driver's license with the mold on it? The water he swam through? Mia's blood getting in his wounds? Evelyn touching him while he was unconscious?)
John looking at a football statue that says "shoot me" with his gun out and not wanting to waste bullets, that's so John. John knowing but not realizing he has knife in his inventory that he could break the statue with, Priceless.
I don't understand how the cop didn't consider that maybe Ethan was one of the *"missing people"* he was looking for. He automatically assumed Ethan was the perpetrator without reasonable cause. Assuming this was not his house, etc. Why'd the developers add such a stupid unrealistic scene seems just like a setup to incorporate the Jack boss fight.

This is so brilliantly Resident-Evil-like. As far as atmosphere, exploration and puzzles go, it's really feeling very familiar, only perhaps a tad more linear than previous installments - and I'm hoping it opens up just a tad more later. It's very interesting how it's got an emphasis on stealth and evasion over shooting things. it's very tense, like they took their unkillable Tyrant/Nemesis style enemies and made them the main focus. It really makes me fear being discovered.

I've watched 6 different play-throughs of this game, and I just decided to watch yours (even though it's 3 years later lol) and about 3/6 of the TH-camrs I've watched have gotten the scene where Jack smashes through the wall and grabs you as you walk past. You didn't get that scene, and I wondered if it was because you snuck past and he was unaware of where you were as you were walking down the hallway by the kitchen. Very interesting! Also, you were so lucky how quickly you found the hatch key and the key to the car. So many people have walked past without noticing them, but you got them right away! I'm really loving your play-through so far!

When I first played this part of the game and I was talking to the cop through the window all I could think was "SHOW HIM YOUR FUCKING STAPLED ON HAND!" If the cop really is looking for missing persons, wouldn't a man panicking with a DIY Six Million Dollar Man hand probably fit the bill of 'requires police assistance'. Still, this is one of my favourite games ever.

The original game is in Japanese, that's why some of the scripting is weird. It's also why the mouth movements don't really match the dialogue.
