that supra looks like its extremely well build... pulling thru those corners and hard acceleration with hardly any wheel spin... one of the best tunes ive seen on youtube rather than these guys putting down 1000whp and the car cant pull thru a corner without spinning tires and shit... great driving to! very respectful. props!
@@Robert-Cinque777 Fantastic, still have it. 94' with an auto, just bought a manual gearbox to do a conversion as a winter project. Best purchase I've ever made, even though it drains my money so fast. 9 years have passed, can't imagine 19 year old me would've thought I'd still have it today!
always wanted the jdm mitsubishi "gto" before i got into z's. but i couldn't see getting something else now. but definitely i'd say pull the trigger on a z and keep it forever! the styling will never get old. and thank you!
it's good that hes not driving recklessly, he knows how the car behave under boost and such. He must have been driving that road alot i guess;) ! Great video to show how much power there is and how you can enjoy a supra ! Play carefully !
I bet this road is crazy in the Fall. No leaves so you can see through the trees for the turns. Add the darkness of night, you'll be able to see their headlights. You've got a beauty of a road here.
perfect video! sound was excellent, video footage was perfect! that car is absolutely amazing! ive seen more supra vids than i care to admit! this one is definately one of the best quality in cars ive seen!
@GTM46V8 Very true and a good point also. Thumbs up for the vid, nice to see a high spec Supra driving public roads and putting it down a little every so offen.
Beautiful, but terrifying sounding and driving car. Every time boost comes on, the rear kicks loose. On small 2 lane roads, this can be very dangerous. Props to the brave, but good, driver.
What i have learned is that the boost kicks in in a sertain rpm and he floors it a small bit that's why the rear wheels are spinning but if he gentle press the gas it won't react the same
In a rwd car with this much power? Yes of course you're gonna lose traction even with the best traction rated tires on. What he's simply doing is feathering the throttle (testing for traction) going around the corner mostly by feel. When done right after corner exit fast acceleration putting down maximum power.
Agree with you there mate....top end power is fine for 1/4 mile drag racing if you can keep the turbo spooling in the power zone but for road use it isn't particularly good especially if you want to overtake quickly. Unless you are in the right gear at the right time you won't make as much progress as you hoped you would.
This is exactly what I will do every damn weekend once I get my supra someday soon hopefully. After work...turn off cellphone and go into another world of BOOST! SO AWESOME! YEAAAAAAAA!!!
760 WHP is STUPID fast. heck im scared in my 320 whp subaru when i floor it. i would stay away from that supra i'd shit my pants :) great driving and great playground!
A bit too much Turbo lag for me but otherwise quite a good thrill on the open roads.....a smaller turbo would give the car much better acceleration from lower down the rev range and give more confidence behind the wheel...just my 2 cents :-)
***** Yep. Being Supra owner is all about having impressive dyno-sheets and getting your ass kicked by tiny FWD cars like Peugeot 106 and Honda Civic on the streets, because all your Supra does is spin tires. ... really? I think Pirelli said it best: *Power is nothing without control.*
The reason the tires are spinning is because he is making them, If he wanted to get impressive take off and control then he would. A civic beating a supra? Ahahahahahaha keep dreaming kid.
***** ... what stops the other driver from using slick tires then? I find your ignorance when it comes to cars hilarious, there is that thing called power/weight ratio and small cars like Civics, 106's or Saxos don't need much power to be fast. Lighter cars also have advantage beating the centrifugal force which means they are a lot faster in the bends. Also, small French cars like Saxo, 205 and 106 handle a lot better than Civics in stock form, it's clear that you haven't actually never driven one. My brother had illegal street race in the city against his friend's 800+hp RE85 Supra and won him with slightly tuned 205 1.9 GTi, because Supra can't turn to save it's life. Mark Lamberton Just check from 2:00 onward how he can't even pass 2 cars without having a long straight to do so. Any somewhat powerful and lightweight NA car would have easily overtaken those cars ages ago without worrying about *excessive* tire spin or turbo lag. Tuned Supras are damn fast on straights, look cool and still are very nice daily drivers, but too much horsepower won't make them any faster outside drag strip. If you think spinning tires AKA "drifting" is the fastest way around, go back to watch The Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift and leave the car debates to adults.
760hp is fun on the street, it's just a hand-full on roads that twisty. I've been in a supra making over 1200whp, and THAT is an amazing feeling.. 760 is about what people doing road racing tend to stop at..
Theres a lot of ways to this. Gotta look at the cost of building the transmission up, getting the right supporting mods for the turbo, and then getting the turbo. Could be anywhere from 7000 to 14,000 I believe. Might not wanna take my word for that though.
You can install it on mostly any car. You can install it with no problem. But to install a turbo you need a turbo manifold, intake manifold, oil lines, inter cooler, exhaust, down pipe, bearings, a entirely new fuel system which includes, injectors ect. These stuff are needed. If the car is already turbo than you can keep majority of the stuff, but it cant handle all the pressure from this massive turbo. It would be about 5,000k just to install this turbo. For more information, just reply.
it's amazing to me that a video from 08 has better audio/video than most of the stuff in 2017.
It’s 2023 and this is still one of the best
I have this in a car playlist and I'm still watchin this from time to time.
same ive got over 300 videos lol
just back for my daily view
This video is my happy place.
This is the best damn video I've seen in a long while!
1 best car ever produced, 2 greatest sound ever, 3 amazing driving & 4 gorgeous roads and scenery
you need to take the car out again and record it in 4k this time

Love it mate. Epic sound. Turbo spooling is like classical music - you just cannot get enough. List fast
Wow! I wish the cameraman would have showed the tachometer. I would love to see them rpm's rising to 9000+
The spool at 0:10 impressed me. Very nice job keeping that beast on the road.
I listen to this at work
I know I'm weird but I love it :D
haha nope you aren’t i listen to this when i hit the gym
Nothing I like more than pretending I have one of these driving. Such a great vid of my kind of driving and the pure sound of a Supra 🔥
what a weapon, sounds real good coming on boost
must be an amazing feeling when the boost hits and the tires break loose going so fast :)
that turbo whistle and bov sound is the best sound on earth :) best video so far on youtube

What are you talking about? They are amazing cars! Civics and Accords are some of the best commuters out there.

the sound of this supra is like the best concert....
Love your SatNav circles on your windshield mate!!

godDAMN. this video gives me exciting chills watching it. long live the 2jz.
second car = supra
love this vid, have to agree with byeofficer they have the greatest sound by far
Den legendariska Bulten!

excellent background music. Could loop all day/night.

great sound, boost comes online violently
the passat taking lines like a BOSS
a nice travel with this supra...THE BEST!!
He should dial back the boost some. Most of that power was just used lighting up the tires.
wheelspin is 80% of the fun

Yeah, The turbo is GREAT I love it, too.
that looks sooo fun how do u guys upgrade the suspention to handle soo good???
Damn that road is incredible! what I wouldn't give to have some tasty curvy roads like that in texas
Sehr geiler Sound kann man sich 100 Mal reinziehen
thats the work of JRM RACING ;)
Well this t51r is a big turbo. It does take a long time for a 3.0l and a diesel truck to spool it. But once that boost kicks in, its amazing!

if i wrong u can check other videos if u type "gt45r. but i think this turbo has minimum hp of 800 and maxi up to 1500hp

do you have a recirculating wastegate for that spool noise or just a recirculating bov?

@PvtCain well coming directly from the guy who posted this video, its a GT45R. There are other turbos on the market that are just as loud as the T51R.
