  • The modern Camaro is available in a wide range of flavours. In place of its traditional V8, you can now specify this pony car from Chevy with a two-litre, turbocharged four-cylinder engine. And you can add the 1LE Track Performance Package option to it. We explore this 1LE on some demanding roads to see what all the hype is about.

    I own this car, 6 speed manual, puts a smile on my face everyday! It saves me lots of gas, only thing I’m missing is the famous rumble! But 2 good things with this. 1. I don’t make my neighbors mad, 2. The cops can’t hear me coming down the road to give me a ticket! Other than that, I love my car, and wouldn’t trade it back to anyone! Very happy customer!😎😎😎😜👍

    Drove one of these back to back with a trd 86 yesterday. Was completely sold on the 86 beforehand but the Camaro stole my heart. And I've only ever owned BMWs. It's a lot of car for the money. I'm getting mine soon. Good review. Thanks.

I've had a lot of v8's and I am tired of them i want some fun turbo cars that are enjoyable and can be tuned that get good MPGs and are fun and enjoyable to drive. i want more V6 and 4 cylinders in my life and maybe a classic Big Block V8 one day.

    I love the 1LE performance pkg on this turbo. Reduced curb weight and suspension is what is intriguing. My daily and wknd use of a car isnt going to put 500HP to use. But taking my favorite sweepers and decreasing radius off camber on and off ramps are quite enjoyable.

    I had a '96ss back in the day before family life took over and it was a fun car to drive. Sold it in 2010 and got the mini van. One day I'll try get another Camaro and this would be a great option. Its great on gas, light and nimble, and has all the performance goodies you need for a fun spin around town. When my son is older and doesn't need a car seat, I'll check into this if the Camaro is still around. The 275hp is plenty for my needs, and its close to the power of my '96ss which was a little over 300hp with the LT1 engine. The only thing the new turbo doesn't have is the sound my old car had with the catback exhaust put on by SLP who modified all the SS models for chevy for the '96 models.

    While I do quite enjoy the GM Alpha chassis balance, I couldn't justify buying a car built around accommodating a V8 engine that only has a 4-cylinder. While the adequate and fuel-efficient 2.0T engine no doubt sits behind the front axle (as it does in my Cadillac ATS), the Camaro visibility issues and positively claustrophobic back seats make this a tough sell for me.

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There are no visibility issues. That stopped being a thing with this latest generation. And let me get this straight: you bought a four cylinder ATS even though a V6 and a twin turbo V6 are available?

      actually the alpha platform was designed around the LTG engine, so it feels like they were made for each other. If anything, the LT1 on the alpha platform is the combination that feels wrong. This platform really doesn't like extra weight.
