8:06 "MTOW is 1410 pounds...." Someone at Aviation Base is either smokin' dope, fantasying, or blowing smoke. I think the battery alone weighs more than that.
That figure sounds like that quoted for its 2 seat prototype/tech demonstrator from 2019. Can’t see that being the figure for the 7 seat production model … !!
Thoroughly enjoyed this video. The attention to detail about the Lilium aircraft was superb. I always look forward to innovations. The fan engines were cute and this looks like it will have a positive impact on the environment. Thanks 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
videos, sketches allow for everything - not necessarily a practical design - Lilium is short on range, payload, speed, safety and mission - its a fairground toy
I think most of the players in the current PAV-market like lilium, volocopter, ehang, Joby etc. are approaching this technology wrongly. Their goal is to set up a fleet of vehicles and operate them like traditional airliners. I believe there is potential for a more bottom-up-oriented approach, similar to what Jetson and Pivotal are doing. Most of the PAV-manufacturers are so obsessed with what people might need that they forget what people would want. In the future, their business model might be viable, but for now, I'd rather develop and sell eVTOL PAVs to enthusiasts as recreational vehicles. Limited practical use and lots of fun. As Pivotal has put it: "Premium SUV money". 250.000$ max.
If I had 10 million I would get it if it had more range and was a bit faster other than that I like it and am I the only one who kinda likes the design
The Electra ESTOL has 8 billion in orders. They have tested a two seater already. They are manufacturing a 9 seat prototype. This expensive contraption has not even built a full scale test platform. It wont be commercially competitive.
This is not for individual buyers, this is for big private aviation company will buy and provide cheap service so everybody can use it like regular economical airlines flights

VTOL is a huge waste of energy especially on electric aircraft. Design this thing for normal runway takeoff flight and it would be great. You can cut out the rotation mechanism, extra engines for a less than 1 thrust-to-weight ratio, and engineering and manufacturing complexity.
Less expensive, to be fair. For a normal helicopter this size, you'd easily be laying down 20M. In addition, there is the transition into airplane-like flight, theoretically increasing efficiency. My main issue with the design is, as many others have pointed out, the extreme disc-loading at hover. Given the enormous span-width of the aircraft, the transition would not be swift, hence more time in hover, hence more energy consumption.
They won't sell any of them at $5 million and this is saying $10 million. The Sirius Bizjet is also eVTOL and gets 1,150 mile range using liquid hydrogen this Lilium only has a 150 mile range maybe.I just wrote their shit off after seeing this.
This is the most ridicule offer of all time. $10 Million for this BS aircraft!!!!!! I am sorry for not being so enthusiastic about this flying 'shoe box' For me, this is just a specimen platform for may be another more justifiable investment, buying a helicopter is a lot better than this. No hate there at all, just pure critic ;-)
Well, don't bother doing any research. There is plenty of interest for these among airlines and corporations for starters. Our military is also involved. The EVTOLs are a game changer and don't really have any serious competition except against each other and Lilium has the unique advantage of scalability due to its proprietary design. Whether or not you buy into the global warming scam (I don't) there is a big market for these vehicles. They are safe, unbelievably quiet and could take off from your back yard if they had to. Use your imagination. Lilium has already been cleared by US and European regulators to manufacture and sell these jets and they just went into production last week. Quite a scam.

You are right
the whole thing is an aviation hoax -
I know what I am talking about was in civil and combat aircraft design for more than 40 years

Glad you enjoyed it and thank you for watching!

how is that possible: 7 passengers and the max takeoff weight 640kg?
Great marketing - you sold me the dream! Theranos was also great marketing - Billion Dollar dream!

The cloud connectivity is its only means for safety - however clouds have no solid ground.
It's ready to open order?
Not yet
They have not even built a full scale test platform yet !!!

It'sVery Expensive jet.
and dangerous with little true performance
For that kind of money you can buy a actual jet with real performance.
Lilium was saying $5 million and that's way too much. They won't sell any of them at that price and only a 150 mile range???
fortunately - this will reduce the safety issue apart from its in-coming failure as a commercial tool
The Sirius Bizjet uses liquid hydrogen,a fuelcell,a 1,150 mile range,at 323 mph and 30,000ft.It is supposed to be ready for 2025.
The is beautiful. I love design. However, the price is too high. This might kill the project.

I like it but to expensive and not enough range

LOL, Embraer Phenom 300 any day for the same price.

there have been a webinar on that by lilium. VTOL comsumes 20% of the battery.
Can you imagine not having this stock as it sits just over a dollar and change ?
It's under a dollar now
Even better
gonna be .10 by this time next year...
@@JoeyBlogs007 $1.25 range now
@@TheRogueStatesman you on gummy’s ?
Won't be commercially viable at 10 million a pop.
I think it could be closer to $4 per seat mile, rather than the $2.50 claimed.
so, an electric helicopter then... but much more expensive...
Basically yes

you should inform yourself better! The values that you provide are not up to date!
I have 50K shares @ $1.26 , Lilium Jet is a winner
Now it's 87 cents a 44% decline. Suckers money.

Does it have a peetow tube, so you can pee?
I don't think so, it's designed for short flights
Is there a bathroom on board? 😳
Nope, no bathroom aboard
It's air time is so short, one isn't needed, hopefully.
dont think anyone is gonna buy it at that price and i would like to hear what it sounds like in operation

10 million 😂
I think this company will end up being a scam.
Already is.
@shirlzitting647 yeah but we can't prove they aren't magic.

@@pasadenaphil8804they have great interior designers and marketing team for sure 😂
Vehicle performance wise, they haven’t shown anything
Cost is outrageous. You could buy 8 new advanced helicopter for the price of one of these. I don't care how cheap the operating costs are.
Agreed
