I met him once in the 90's. I was lost in London, I pulled in to a petrol station in my silver Metro Mayfair, walked up to this bloke at the pump and asked for directions. He was about 10 seconds in when I clocked who it was. He knew the moment, grinned and kept going with the directions. I thanked him about 20 times too many, walked away and forget every direction he gave. What a lovely chap.
The man is an absolute legend. And very underrated. He should be presenting game shows on prime time TV. The world needs more of Brian. He never fails to put a smile on my face.
Absolutely loved this and need more Brian please. I interviewed him years ago when he was in Panto in Manchester, walked in through the stage door and into the room where he was with other cast members, and the first thing he did was stand up, shake my hand, introduced himself, and offered to make me a cup of tea. Lol I was just in awe as I was, and still am, a huge fan, and he was brilliant to interview……and yes he did his own intro then 😂😂😂😂. An outright legend and genuinely funny fella.
Quality. The Brian Conley Alive & Dangerous show was one of the classics I binged again a year or so back. Septic Peg and I cracked up again still when does that violin routine 😂
Great chat, loved the stories. I think there should be a series woth these two chatting... its so easy to listen to them both... great story telling...
this is my favourite interview of yours, rob. i loved it. he's old school so not someone i would normally watch but he's a step above the other old school regulars from the 80s and 90s. i also fancy him a bit - good looking man!
I met him in milton keynes after his panto last year I was so starstruck to meet him but he was so lovely to chat with me for a while I loved it he made my night! Hes such a sweet person! 😂 Love Brian hes my theatre hero! I could have chatted to him for hours over coffee Brian is such a sweet person and he loved my handmade washbag with pictures and quotes from his career.
I saw him in 9 to 5 he was utterly hilarious! 😂 Especially when they hung him up from the rafters before the interval and he played a seedy boss of an office. They left him hanging up and he told everyone off not to take piccies! Everyone got their cameras out and after the interval he was still hanging there! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I saw Brian Conley in a panto at the Bristol Hippodrome about 3 or 4 years ago. He was simply hilarious & absolutely made the show. Seen many other panto's before & since but that one was truly an outstanding night out.
Great chat. Saw BC in Blackpool many moons ago. Brilliant performer. Would prefer it if RB didn't interrupt and talk over guests when they are in full flow, even though RB is obvs very talented. Seems uncomfortable if the spotlight is on the guest for too long 😮 😔 (a Robin Williams-esque need for constant approval?)
It's an unscripted pub chat between two mates, not a political interview or a psychotherapeutical analysis - let them talk over each other if they have a mind to. It's what mates do.
Living Legend. So much so, that when I first watched the Christian Bale movie Equilibrium..when Brian appeared I shouted “OH MY GOD THATS BRIAN CONLEY!!! In my mind he’s a bigger star than Bale 😂 the looks I had ..😮
Love Brian Conley, wish he was on TV more often. Is this the correct way to pronounce that place in North Wales? th-cam.com/video/fHxO0UdpoxM/w-d-xo.html&t
This week, Rob is speaking with… someone no one outside the UK has ever heard of. Which (putting a positive gloss on it!) can be refreshing. Or at least stir some small amount of curiosity. At the least, the viewer doesn't come in with preconceptions. If the guest is entertaining, the response has got nothing to do with any preordained bias or expectation. And on a scale of hearing a stranger chat about their life, it was a bit baffling, mentioning people we also haven't heard of, but not unpleasant. Some of the chat about putting on shows is quite interesting. Up to a point. Two stars.
Can you sit a bit further apart 🤔 Is this a covid thing ? It looks like you are at each end of a weird, dull snooker table. Nice chat though. Brian is ace.
I like how the "Translate to English", fails on that one😂 ‘St Mary’s Church in the Hollow of the White Hazel Near to the Rapid Whirlpool of Llantysilio of the Red Cave’.

Love Dangerous Brian and "It's a Puppet" 😂

Absolute legend! His Saturday night show during his time in the sun as Rob says was absolutely glorious and I loved every second of it!! ❤❤
Absolutely loved this. As Brian said moreeeeeee please!
Love a bit of Conley. Could easily have watched another hour of that.
Great to see the two guys so relaxed in each other's company.
We love a bit of brian, loved the banter

So glad you brought up the Grimleys. Loved that show!

At 13:34 there is most definitely a bum noise :) during Rib saying, " You could really hear them". :)

Legend of classic variety TV.
I'd love to see that "9 to 5" with him!

Yes, please more Brian interviews. Or one 4 hour long one lol
Loved the guy in the grimleys his p.e. teacher character was fkn hilarious
He lived in Ebbw and Tredegar, as part of a comedy troop? Wow. Must have been when we had nice things up here.
Brilliant.
Great interview! I’ve always liked Brian, he’s a great entertainer and actor.
Superb interview 😂
Grew up with him on tv in the 80s onwards. He wasn’t the cool, edgy alt comedy I liked but he’s a great guy and very entertaining. Fun interview.
Nice to see Dick Van Dyke still going
His cockney has gotten better.
It’s a PUPPET!!! 🎉
I remember Brian Conely: This Way Up!
The man is a comic genius. What they used to call a Thinking man's Tommy Cooper.
Brian used to host a Talent Show in the afternoon around 2005/6 that was a great fun tv show
He's great, wish he would come back to Eastenders 😊

@@philroberts7238 Fair enough
My sister used to fancy him, when she was 12. THought i'd let everyone know.
Tonight's lottery will be won by either a man...or a woooooomaaaaannnn (◑‿◐)
I read somewhere that Vanilla Ice does panto. "Oh no he don't!"
Living Legend. So much so, that when I first watched the Christian Bale movie Equilibrium..when Brian appeared I shouted “OH MY GOD THATS BRIAN CONLEY!!! In my mind he’s a bigger star than Bale 😂 the looks I had ..😮
Saw the Bri in panto earlier in my life.
😆
Really, Really, ... I Got to go and be a bloody Orange !!!
Lovely hair follicles Rob

One of our national treasures is our Brian.
His jolson impression was without a doubt the funniest thing he ever did😂
Can you sit a bit further apart 🤔 Is this a covid thing ? It looks like you are at each end of a weird, dull snooker table. Nice chat though. Brian is ace.
That intro actually turned me off watching the rest. Goodnight eveybody 😂
There’s something very uncomfortable watching someone so self -possessed. There’s a real lack of open-ness and connection. Strange
I'm out, 😴. As a musician in the 80s and 90s doing cabaret backing, he never really floated my boat
Funny not , he is very full of himself but 1980 is long gone. Lolololol
It's Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerwchgwyndrobwchllantasiliogogogoch. Come on Rob you should know this! 🏴

@@sharpvidtube At least I'm not the only person who checked 😂
