Came back and rewatched the video. I have a question, did you notice a difference in the 1911s steel compared to the first handgun you engraved? I started engraving a .270 rifle and my gravers don’t seem to have the same bight they have when I’m engraving let’s say an aluminum knife handle. Maybe I need a different angle of graver for the tougher steel?
hello, I'm from Brazil and I'm starting in Engrave, I would like to know which program you used for the drawing and what it indicates for me to improve myself in scroll drawing. Perfect job!
@@jwsahm6703 I'm very happy for you to answer me, I thought it wouldn't be answered, would you indicate some material for me to start drawing, any reference in books?sorry if my english is not good. I use the translator
A good book to use is called "The Art of Engraving" by James B. Meek. I also study the engravings of Layne Zuelke and Sam Alfano, a lot of what I engrave is based off of their styles. A good way to start is find drawings that you like and try and draw them, and eventually you will develop your own style through experimenting
Great work homie! I hope to get to your level one day!
Nice work dude. Gives me the itch to do some myself. My engraver has been on the back seat while I fix and work on other aspects of my shop/products.
Looks nice I’m sure your dad loved it. Good to see your still going strong it’s been a good lil while.

Looks like an iPad edit. Hopefully he responds with the app. I’m curious as well.
The app I use is called Sketchbook. I'm using a Samsung phone, I'm not sure if it is on iPhone
