I recall an ancient warning about building a house on sand. That may not be sand but still, it's close enough to running waste for any rocks to have the same structural integrity.
i bet it wasn’t built as close to the water as we might think now, the water just got closer and over the years the earth eroded … i don’t think glaciers melted as drastically back then
Water is extremely powerful, especially in major bursts like this. Most canyons and valleys are the result of such erosion over time.
Yall better hurry and pay Blacks reparations money b4 it's too late
It’s a very well documented warning.
It’s like teaching your son not to put his cup so close to the edge of the table
I can imagine the water was much further away when it was built. I've seen it with people who build near a cliff. They build 100 feet away and in 30 years the cliff is only 30 feet away, and inching ever closer by the day. Moral to the story think way way ahead when scouting potential building locations
@@ironman4life89 you just said the same thing basketball said....
This happened because Americans owe Blacks reparations money
Especially if you have cats. 😄
Title should be "house build on rive bank inevitably falls in during flood season"
This isn't a flood season, this is a melting glacier dam reaching its breaking point due to the extreme heat
The river rose 14 feet due to the damn break upstream. In one day. I can’t think of too many places that plan for such an extreme change in such a short timespan.
they at least had a very nice view from living room's window
When these places were built, they weren't overhanging the riverbank at the time.
Once the bank starts eroding due to high water levels, it can eat homes VERY quickly.
Some homes could be half a mile from the river bank one day and then in the river months later.
Thought that there was a 200' threshold, you are required to maintain, from the edge of the water, to the face of the foundation?!
That looked like a fairly new house too, I bet those apartments have been there longer.
Putin must be held accountable for this horrific flood
dont worry though. zelensky is gonna once again save the day by singlehandedly taking out faceless enemy glaciers and icebergs.
@@mc75cruiser92 icebergs... hmmm... 🤔 so it really is the Jews' fault after all?..
Looks like more people getting bused to California.
@@imd1b4u not important. It was a dig at the governor.
Why in the hell would a person build any house so close to the river or basically next to it? All that money is now gone - down the river it goes and how much money was that house ?????? not a very bright idea in my opinion but I didn't lose any money
Humans never claimed to be smart we just build shit and kill shit not much to it at the end of the day not like we are space species we only been to the moon once we are still extremely primal and dumb! 😅
Look at it this way. They didn't lose everything. At least they still have their garage.
"Honey, where is our house?"
"I dunno.
I could have sworn I parked it right here."
I was waiting for Cleveland to fall in the bathtub. "No no no no no naaaooooo!"
I hope your comment blows up because of the reference. LOL. 😂😂😂
the lady at the end spoke what my inner monologue was saying the whole time watching this video
Why would you build in such a pretty place
Why would you build a wooden house on the side of a river??? Not even concrete???
The building next to it seems to have a concrete foundation, doesn't matter with powerful flood waters washing away the ground
@Native_Creation I think it does if you build a concrete house like 100 yards away with proper isolation it can probably last over a century, these wooden houses need constant repairs because of their proximity to the water and because they are made of wood.
A damn burst upstream. The river was 14 feet above normal. The house was probably 30, 40 yards away from the original riverbank.
It shows you how cheap houses are made with high prices to buy. Collapsing like paper folding
That house was built on hopes and prayers
That is just tragic. Praying no living beings inside. Animal or human
That red house is next! 💀💀
Just ask the Chinese and Russian Navy for help there in Alaska
dont buy a floating house
Bad glacier😅
I bet the back porch fishing was amazing
Bye Bye Birdie…
Horrible headline. Misleading. House was swept away by erosion. Water did not rise up and take the house.
So did water play no part in this?
Total loss? Or insurance company gonna try and repair it
there is no repairing that. i can't imagine the would blame that on natural cause.
😂😂😂
@@icanary64 this guy gets the joke
Sad
The high cost of climate disruption. This has been forseen for more that 50 years.
Looks more like an apartment building. Tourist Traps
I mean, why are these houses so damn close to the water, not very smart.
I hope the guy had insurance on his library of flyers which called climate forcing bullcrap.
So someone was filming a house for no apparent reason and then the house just happened to collapse at that exact moment. I have questions!
uhh, I think you're not very smart. The person knew this was going to happen (because the water had eaten its way into the base of the house, DUH?) and they started filming
……….. someone could see that the perimeter landscape was starting to erode and in anticipation started to film……
@@pinecedar180 So he realized there was a problem and instead of trying to save the house he said screw it I'm going to film it and have the insurance company take care of it. Makes perfect sense!
@@Baconbeater So they knew the exact moment the house was going to collapse? C'mon man.😂
@@robertgodlewski8553 Obviously destruction was imminent as evidence by the OVERFLOWING RIVER with subsequent erosion depicted right in front of your eyes. No, no one could predict the EXACT MOMENT but it’s clear that the event was imminent hence why the person started to film.
its okay Alaskan's its just warmer weather. Just part of the plan right
Damn nice house shame
But at least the garage can still be used until the ground erodes from the river back to it.
And another victim to the long list for global warming.😜
Don't worry global warming isn't happening. Republican's wouldn't lie
good
You ain’t seen nothing yet.
I worry about my ex and her family they live up in Alaska hopefully they didn't loose their house either .
Hoping is not gonna do anything.
Law of attraction
Lol not every home owner in Alaska Is at risk of their house being ripped away by glacier rivers, unless they live on the bank of one im sure there fine. Always pray for your family tho👌
So a dam broke , hmmm
Ice/glacial dam
Chinese and Russian Navy's blew it up 😂
So did a damn break?
No. The glacier melted and flooded the river. And it’s just beginning.
Byeeeee
OH NO! "Climate change".
😳😳😳🥺🥺

Global warming handshake
Thoughts and prayers 🙏 God does things for a reason. Amen!
Glaciers are melting not because of God. It’s because of humans.

Climate change?
yes
Natural cycles the earth goes through with minimum effect by humans
Only idiots believe in dramatic climate change. Climate change is the bogeyman stories the rich tell to keep the illiterate working class in line.
Gore dynamited the dam!
@@user-dy9wb4su4j Ever heard of the Greenhouse Effect?
Come on man! Been waiting my whole lifetime for commiefornia to do this...
Oh no! Those poor homeless millionaires. 😭😭😭😭
That's the truth. Those are expensive houses.
Right. Who cares if they chose the stupidest possible location to pour money in? They obviously can afford to make expensive mistakes so why feel bad?
@@Alissaj8892 Yes. they get the insurance company or the government to pay for it.
