Brazil needs to stop selling its mines and strategic companies. Actually, needs to renationalize all the ones that were sold. There was also another major disaster caused by a Norwegian mining company in the Brazilian Amazon. There was also another major disaster caused by a Norwegian mining company in the Brazilian Amazon. It is interesting to note that it is always companies from countries that criticize any underdeveloped country that tries to industrialize.
Number 2 on the countdown, the flood in Turkey. It is mentioned that a few people died. That does not surprise me when I see people standing right there in the basin with a big flood racing right at them. Someone hollars from above and the person runs just in time before the crashing water covered the area.
Where I live had a bad flood after heavy rains. The reason? The town council hadn’t bothered to clear the storm gullies for years and they had become choked with undergrowth and even full trees and bushes. Only after all the damage was the storm gully finally cleared. It’s growing over again nicely. Another few years should see another flood when the undergrowth is thick enough.
2019 was the "100 year flood" in Oklahoma. It rained so hard and so fast some of the levees malfunctioned and Keystone lake had to open up the dam which flooded everything built around the Arkansas River. I remember looking off the side of a bridge and seen a red car stuck up in the trees.

It’s too bad that no one got footage of the flash flood of 2016 here in Lycoming County Pennsylvania. 10+ inches of rain in around 6 hours. Me and many others were landlocked for two and a half days as bridges and roads were washed out.
I remember. I lived in east stroudsburg at the time right by the dike and I clearly remember plain as day, going up to check the water level every 30 minutes..

It confuses and impresses me that people live in areas prone to natural disasters. Of course, you can't really escape natural disasters anywhere, but some places definitely have it worse than others. It's like a testament to human stubbornness and adaptability that these people know the next disaster is coming and, instead of being like "fuck this, I'm out", they're just like "Oh well...lets start repairing again. Gotta fix everything before the next one hits."

I'm surprised the 2020 floods in Australia didn't get a mention here. There was people driving over the streetlights in my city in boats in the middle of the night trying to rescue people that got caught by water that went from fine to 3-4 stories high overnight.

11 inches of rain in a day isn't alot. (Yes boys, that's alot for other things😂). In North Australia we get over a metre of rain in a day. 2 inches short of 3 and a half feet for our non-metric folk.
If it seems like there are more of these happening and that they are getting worse, you're right. Major flooding is one of the underreported effects of climate change. It will also become the greatest cause of destroyed infrastructure. While droughts and heat waves cause massive forest fires and dried up rivers which will disrupt our agricultural output. Flooding will take out our roads, bridges, rail lines and electrical grid. Not to mention towns, villages and farmland. While the industrialists were crying that stopping the cause of climate change would be economically unfeasible, they were knowingly pushing the much higher costs of climate change happening forward to this generation and the next. This is just the beginning folks, by the end of the decade I suspect that most nations will have quit even trying to repair the damage caused by these events. And the vast majority of us are STILL being lulled into complacency by the mainstream media. If you have the courage, go see what the scientists are actually saying. Their story is quite grim.
It baffles me how many people walk up to the edge of doom so that they can capture an image. Risking their life all for what? A good picture/video? If I saw someone being swept away all because they were idiots to begin with, I'd yell out as they are being swept away by the roaring water "was it worth the shot?"
In many cases these flood events represent a failure of land and water management, especially true in third world countries. At the same time examples of excellent land and water management actually in practice can be found in those same countries. Schemes in India for example have transformed social cohesion, economies, water tables, farming practice and crops.
My fav part is always when there's a bridge about to collapse and there's always people who have to run to the other side, while other people have to run the other way to get to the other side lol.

i was stationed in San Antonio TX in 1998 when a hurricane hit. locally we had 26 inches of rain in just under 7 hours. the flooding was insane.
Oh, damn. I was there for 6 months, so I know Texas rain is a different animal, but that's incredible.

Number 2 on the countdown, the flood in Turkey. It is mentioned that a few people died. That does not surprise me when I see people standing right there in the basin with a big flood racing right at them. Someone hollars from above and the person runs just in time before the crashing water covered the area.
Those logs would have taken him for sure if she didn’t yell at him.
Where I live had a bad flood after heavy rains. The reason? The town council hadn’t bothered to clear the storm gullies for years and they had become choked with undergrowth and even full trees and bushes. Only after all the damage was the storm gully finally cleared. It’s growing over again nicely. Another few years should see another flood when the undergrowth is thick enough.
i think that is called cause and effect, no need to do anything to prevent stuff just let it happen and then we act

2019 was the "100 year flood" in Oklahoma. It rained so hard and so fast some of the levees malfunctioned and Keystone lake had to open up the dam which flooded everything built around the Arkansas River. I remember looking off the side of a bridge and seen a red car stuck up in the trees.

It’s too bad that no one got footage of the flash flood of 2016 here in Lycoming County Pennsylvania. 10+ inches of rain in around 6 hours. Me and many others were landlocked for two and a half days as bridges and roads were washed out.
I remember. I lived in east stroudsburg at the time right by the dike and I clearly remember plain as day, going up to check the water level every 30 minutes..

It confuses and impresses me that people live in areas prone to natural disasters. Of course, you can't really escape natural disasters anywhere, but some places definitely have it worse than others. It's like a testament to human stubbornness and adaptability that these people know the next disaster is coming and, instead of being like "fuck this, I'm out", they're just like "Oh well...lets start repairing again. Gotta fix everything before the next one hits."

The closed captions are basically useless. And I don't mind the vertical video, but I wish they would just have blank white screen on the sides. The expanded blurry video is distracting.

I'm surprised the 2020 floods in Australia didn't get a mention here. There was people driving over the streetlights in my city in boats in the middle of the night trying to rescue people that got caught by water that went from fine to 3-4 stories high overnight.

11 inches of rain in a day isn't alot. (Yes boys, that's alot for other things😂). In North Australia we get over a metre of rain in a day. 2 inches short of 3 and a half feet for our non-metric folk.
If it seems like there are more of these happening and that they are getting worse, you're right. Major flooding is one of the underreported effects of climate change. It will also become the greatest cause of destroyed infrastructure. While droughts and heat waves cause massive forest fires and dried up rivers which will disrupt our agricultural output. Flooding will take out our roads, bridges, rail lines and electrical grid. Not to mention towns, villages and farmland.
While the industrialists were crying that stopping the cause of climate change would be economically unfeasible, they were knowingly pushing the much higher costs of climate change happening forward to this generation and the next.
This is just the beginning folks, by the end of the decade I suspect that most nations will have quit even trying to repair the damage caused by these events. And the vast majority of us are STILL being lulled into complacency by the mainstream media. If you have the courage, go see what the scientists are actually saying. Their story is quite grim.

In many cases these flood events represent a failure of land and water management, especially true in third world countries. At the same time examples of excellent land and water management actually in practice can be found in those same countries. Schemes in India for example have transformed social cohesion, economies, water tables, farming practice and crops.
