I think the reason not many watched the MG1 and MG2 was because you did them right when Ren dropped the album and there were so many new songs to watch. My guess is once the fever of the new dies down those will be looked at more. Especially now that you have all three. You do great breakdowns of the video side.. it's fascinating.

I think there's more to the story than just indifference by the Renegades. The YT algorithm did not add Secret's MG reactions to my feed until MG3 today. I don't know what YT is up to lately trying to shove certain videos and channels down my throat while hiding others from my view. My guess is that for some reason YT didn't like Secret's videos and denied them exposure to a wider audience.
The cut was so they could move and water proof the mic. Moved to his tie. They only had one chance to get the water scene though. He only had one suit and they didn’t have time to allow him or the area to dry to redo. THANK goodness the violinist didn’t move when she got wet….. but of course they paid for her to get new strings.
Ren's taking everything to another level. His imagination and creativity is phenomenal. I was beginning to lose faith in music, at 63 I thought I'd heard it all. You are right about the subtle cut behind the wheelchair as Ren only had 1 suit to get wet so that last part had to work in 1 go. You were right about the one cut that they had to do because of the water. It was a real gun, but he did a hand off of the cartridge when the camera panned up and actually put a blank cartridge in or one that had bullets that would not fire from that gun (memory escapes me). If you watch the BTS by Wolf Johnson, you can see how it was all done. Very interesting.

Loved your perspective and reaction. I especially love your appreciation for Ren and his team from a production standpoint. I don't have any experience in your field but it is dope to see others that are in the know with production, have amazing reactions to Ren's style and execution. I would challenge one part of your response, Jimmy was not always looking for the latest and greatest because of money and money alone. He was looking to impress his father and gain his father's approval. Getting more money was the way he was trying to accomplish that and the ever changing target to gain his fathers approval is why "it" was never enough. Looking at this as just money being "why" I think misses the mark. Money is the by product, filling a void that was created by your father (in Jimmy's case) or some other part of your past and upbringing, is the why. I hope you dive into more of Ren's catalog, you will not be disappointed. Especially if you are interested in his production techniques. Thanks again, I'll look for more of your reactions.

In the behind the scenes video by Wolf Johnson, it shows the camera tricks where he is able to show a loaded gun, and yet it’s not loaded. He had an assistant change the loaded chamber to an empty one. It’s magical lol

Thank you for doing Ren. Your money games didn't show up very well in the algorithms or more would have looked. It is happening a lot I notice. I see one pop up of Ren's and notice it came out 1-4 days ago. He is an independent artist and they are shunned by everything including big labels and the music industry and they have pull on TH-cam as well. Also the high sub reactors are getting dic*ed over by You tube on a normal basis now.

I’ve gotta say. I think out of the 3, this was my favorite story. 2 was my favorite in terms of general song structure. But I love dude’s approach to music. This storytelling really touches on alot of themes that can be challenging to articulate but dude’s doing it effortlessly.
One cut. Right where you said, behind the chair. Couldn't afford to rent the location for another day if it went wrong, because once the water flows, it's done and needs at least overnight to dry out for another take.The only other opportunity they left themselves was after Ren's piano solo opening, in the blur of the sack coming off of his head, because he was worried he couldn't reliably get a good piano take and a good take of the main section, but they didn't end up needing it, so no cut was present there. Magazine swap under the table during the closeup of the gun, and a decommissioned gun with no pin (and probably a mid-barrel plug though I'm not sure on that one), but like you said, whatever they did is beside the point; the tension in the scene is _bonkers._ The number of reactors who literally freak out screaming "Oh my god, trigger discipline!!" right there... you got it _exactly_ on the head. Totally intended. My favorite story though, about this video... did you notice when the sprinklers went, they malfunctioned a little, and started getting the viola player wet? She just very subtly moved her bow and her foot to keep the bow dry. Ren was so proud of her and grateful to her for not ruining the shot, that he paid to have her viola and bow restrung just in case. *That's who Ren is.* And this was _before_ the album dropped at #1 in the UK and he truly made it big, before he had what I'm sure is a pretty amazing amount of money at this point. He also spoke openly about his own hypocrisy, about how he knows he talked in Hi Ren about how his music isn't commercial and he's not chasing that kind of success, and how Money Game is all about the problems with the mentality of chasing fame and fortune... and yet when it was looking like a #1 chart release was _possible?_ I believe his words, as close as I can, were, "I wanted it. I wanted it _bad."_ He pushed everything he could into a giant and very creative grassroots marketing effort, creating a real-life treasure hunt for his social media followers to go on, called in every favor he's ever been owed, all while _perfectly_ aware of the hypocrisy of it, and how hard he was going, participating in the money game. Ren is amazing. P.S. Knox Hill was in the building the first two out of three shooting days. He was supposed to play the waiter with the tray of Champaign, but got swapped out last-minute, but still helped out, hung with Ren, etc.
@@pauzeandrewind Oh, the other reason for the cut behind the chair (because they didn't actually _need_ a reset; they got it in one) was to move Ren's lav mic to the underside of his tie to protect it from the sprinklers.
Three cuts: 1. Beginning when the titles come up. 2. There's something slightly fishy when he takes off the hood and drops it (?) 3. Wheelchair turn. What's remarkable is there is nothing, ever, put inside the frame that doesn't have a purpose. 100%. Also, how'd they get the globe to stop on cue ?? Remote control?? Plus, the easter eggs are great, too. Just brilliant! Thanks for the thoughtful reaction :) FINALLY: the scene where he spins the globe, continues to rap AND makes his clothes look disheveled (out of frame) and then answers the phone....is incredible timing !! Loved your reaction, but although I am a Musician, and from what you say it sounds like you are too, I thought your comments on the film element were excellent. I actually got genuine insight from a film direction perspective, not many reactors bring that to the table, respect, and subbed for sure
Beautiful story telling! An ambitious endeavour of a video. I haven't heard you mention it yet but Ren has Lyme Disease and was misdiagnosed for over 10 years. The medical professionals got to a point where they tried to convince him that it was his mind that was making him sick. He has many layers and the pain from Lyme disease has transformed him and taught him perspectives he had no business learning so early. I'm sure by now his own journey has felt extremely long. I think, while awful, created the perfect storm for a musician.

Mg3 physically portrays the first 2: he literally points a mirror at himself at the beginning of the video, the story of Jimmy turns a saint into a sinner and a child into a killer, the globe spins (as the world turns the whole world burns), literal rain (rain rain rain rain rain a storm it comes our way) and he has his finger on the literal trigger of the money game. There is more there too ❤️ Layers!

The behind the scenes video I watched, of them making this.. This part about the gun.. Its actually cool how they do it. So there is a guy right beside the camera man. You can see Rens ram stretching to his right, he is handing off the clip to the other guy, He then gets the real clip and loads the bullets, then the camera zooms in on the gun on the table.. during this time Ren then is handing the loaded clip back to the other guy, and getting the empty clip back. Pretty genius. The video is up in his Shorts I think. Its there just have to look for it.

Thank you for doing Ren. Your money games didn't show up very well in the algorithms or more would have looked. It is happening a lot I notice. I see one pop up of Ren's and notice it came out 1-4 days ago. He is an independent artist and they are shunned by everything including big labels and the music industry and they have pull on TH-cam as well. Also the high sub reactors are getting dic*ed over by You tube on a normal basis now.
Yeah, I've seen a lot of my favorites go through a lot. A lot of channels lost just in the past week. I'm not holding my breathe for this channel, but I'ma make it a fun ride until the day! Thanks for watching!

I’ve gotta say. I think out of the 3, this was my favorite story. 2 was my favorite in terms of general song structure.
But I love dude’s approach to music. This storytelling really touches on alot of themes that can be challenging to articulate but dude’s doing it effortlessly.

One cut. Right where you said, behind the chair. Couldn't afford to rent the location for another day if it went wrong, because once the water flows, it's done and needs at least overnight to dry out for another take.The only other opportunity they left themselves was after Ren's piano solo opening, in the blur of the sack coming off of his head, because he was worried he couldn't reliably get a good piano take and a good take of the main section, but they didn't end up needing it, so no cut was present there.
Magazine swap under the table during the closeup of the gun, and a decommissioned gun with no pin (and probably a mid-barrel plug though I'm not sure on that one), but like you said, whatever they did is beside the point; the tension in the scene is _bonkers._ The number of reactors who literally freak out screaming "Oh my god, trigger discipline!!" right there... you got it _exactly_ on the head. Totally intended.
My favorite story though, about this video... did you notice when the sprinklers went, they malfunctioned a little, and started getting the viola player wet? She just very subtly moved her bow and her foot to keep the bow dry. Ren was so proud of her and grateful to her for not ruining the shot, that he paid to have her viola and bow restrung just in case. *That's who Ren is.* And this was _before_ the album dropped at #1 in the UK and he truly made it big, before he had what I'm sure is a pretty amazing amount of money at this point.
He also spoke openly about his own hypocrisy, about how he knows he talked in Hi Ren about how his music isn't commercial and he's not chasing that kind of success, and how Money Game is all about the problems with the mentality of chasing fame and fortune... and yet when it was looking like a #1 chart release was _possible?_ I believe his words, as close as I can, were, "I wanted it. I wanted it _bad."_ He pushed everything he could into a giant and very creative grassroots marketing effort, creating a real-life treasure hunt for his social media followers to go on, called in every favor he's ever been owed, all while _perfectly_ aware of the hypocrisy of it, and how hard he was going, participating in the money game.
Ren is amazing.
P.S. Knox Hill was in the building the first two out of three shooting days. He was supposed to play the waiter with the tray of Champaign, but got swapped out last-minute, but still helped out, hung with Ren, etc.

@@pauzeandrewind Oh, the other reason for the cut behind the chair (because they didn't actually _need_ a reset; they got it in one) was to move Ren's lav mic to the underside of his tie to protect it from the sprinklers.
Three cuts: 1. Beginning when the titles come up. 2. There's something slightly fishy when he takes off the hood and drops it (?) 3. Wheelchair turn. What's remarkable is there is nothing, ever, put inside the frame that doesn't have a purpose. 100%. Also, how'd they get the globe to stop on cue ?? Remote control?? Plus, the easter eggs are great, too. Just brilliant! Thanks for the thoughtful reaction :)
FINALLY: the scene where he spins the globe, continues to rap AND makes his clothes look disheveled (out of frame) and then answers the phone....is incredible timing !! Wow!

Loved your reaction, but although I am a Musician, and from what you say it sounds like you are too, I thought your comments on the film element were excellent. I actually got genuine insight from a film direction perspective, not many reactors bring that to the table, respect, and subbed for sure

Beautiful story telling! An ambitious endeavour of a video. I haven't heard you mention it yet but Ren has Lyme Disease and was misdiagnosed for over 10 years. The medical professionals got to a point where they tried to convince him that it was his mind that was making him sick. He has many layers and the pain from Lyme disease has transformed him and taught him perspectives he had no business learning so early. I'm sure by now his own journey has felt extremely long. I think, while awful, created the perfect storm for a musician.

Heart-pulling, "Su!cide" or "For Joe." Criticism, "Sick Boi." Upbeat personal, "Power." For fun, try his 90s hip-hop homage, "What You Want." His whole Love Music series is mostly meaningless fun and word play, (and it gets more & more cheeky as the 4 parts progress).

Because there's only one thing money can't truly buy. Love. And you can fill that hole in your heart with LV bags and 100$ bills and when you wake up, you'll still be missing the human connection we all desperately crave. They say you can buy it, but illusions are not reality.
There's a BTS by Wolf Johnson (a short one of about 40 minutes and a long one about 2 & 1/2 hrs. Renegade me recommends the long one) that goes into depth about what went into this video.
I see mg1 as the history of the money game, mg2 as the political aspects of the money game and mg3 is the individual outcome of the money game. Mg3 physically portrays the first 2: he literally points a mirror at himself at the beginning of the video, the story of Jimmy turns a saint into a sinner and a child into a killer, the globe spins (as the world turns the whole world burns), literal rain (rain rain rain rain rain a storm it comes our way) and he has his finger on the literal trigger of the money game. There is more there too ❤️ Layers!

The behind the scenes video I watched, of them making this.. This part about the gun.. Its actually cool how they do it. So there is a guy right beside the camera man. You can see Rens ram stretching to his right, he is handing off the clip to the other guy, He then gets the real clip and loads the bullets, then the camera zooms in on the gun on the table.. during this time Ren then is handing the loaded clip back to the other guy, and getting the empty clip back. Pretty genius. The video is up in his Shorts I think. Its there just have to look for it.
TH-cam is all kinds of messed up. Says you only have 254 views, but somehow you got 2.1 THOUSAND likes?!? That’s some funny business game playing by TH-cam. They need to make it make sense. And they really should stop harassing reactors about the content you all provide.
