I'm pretty sure that's the best reaction to the "Hunger" I've seen.. and I've seen an embarrassing amount of Ren reactions 😅 Great job, my guy!
Hey! Thank you!!
I completely agree. I have heard this song sooooo many times and have seen many many reactions, and I just learned a lot!!!
I shamefacedly share your embarrassment!😳
By the way this is a great incisive. Reaction!👏👏👏
I agree...learned a lot even after like 50 reactions
Alpha waves, beta and gamma radiation from nuclear fallout. You need a shelter for that. Delta waves are in the brain. Layers!! Love the reaction
🔥🔥🔥🔥
I really want to see your take on "Losing It", it's got some amazing flow switches and some fire bars. I think you're the first and only reactor I've seen who caught the Django Reinhardt reference, amazing reaction!
Knox is the only other one I’ve heard catch it 👍🏻😊 and 100% Losing it next 🙏
Yeah I would really love to see reaction to "Losing It" from him
Absolutely the best review I've seen of The Hunger. Loved the detail, the love of the game. Respect.
Much appreciated!
So the basis of this is; as Ren was so weak from the misdiagnosis and stem cell and drugs running thru his veins he wanted to produce music but he was too ill. His ‘hunger’ comes from wanting to make music and feeling like half his life was taken away and now he’s older he feels the desire more. It created a monster.
🔥
I would only correct that Ren recently shared that the stem cell treatment saved his life. He is creating something right now to share his journey in hopes of helping others. My daughter has conditions that doctors can’t diagnose. He spent years suffering and doctors misdiagnosed. Lyme disease can wreak havoc on the body and brain if left untreated which it did with Ren.
@@charleen2074 I wish your daughter well and hope for her swift recovery.
The education on this reaction channel is REAL. Thank you sir! Losing It next please.
I appreciate that! You got it!
@@pauzeandrewindoh yes!! Losing it is Gold!
losing it is Ren's most versatile and fastest flows. Hear me out homie.
You might need educating,
@@zigman63Absolutely! One thing I know for sure is that I don’t know it all. I’m open to always learning not just about music but all aspects of life.
I’m a grey haired old lady but my word this song scratches a spot in my brain that feels so good! I have listened to this song so many times.
"Genuine Frankenstein: I made a monster" - the whole track is a patchwork of different flow patterns, much like Frankenstein's monster was made of a patchwork of human body parts.
You bring so much to the table, it's impossible to leave and still be hungry!
Your reactions are always, _always_ appreciated my man.
Oooooo what a great take!! Wish I thought of that 🤣
Wicked Ways is Ren at his best with rapping.
THIS
💯
Man I want to agree with that but seven sins was absolutely insane.
@@thomasbrower693 Not wrong. Flow for flow I gotta give it to Wicked ways. He’s just talking his shit in the best way. Seven sins is good cause the message with the flow of course
@@steve6908 yeah you got a good point there
Losing It
What you want
Losing it imo my favorite song I've ever heard in my life
Murderer original and acoustic in LA too.
@@TrianglesAndCircles acoustic is one of my Ren favorites
Ocean and Freckled Angels are probably my two favorite Ren songs but the guy just doesn't miss.
Honestly Shocked you are just now getting to this track, so glad you finally hit it up. This is Ren Rap Rapping! Great Reaction and Energy!
That's funny... I have a playlist titled "RAP RAP... I MEAN RAP!" and that's where I saved this track.
@@ImJustGELAthat is where this track belongs!
Dont forget he also produced the beat amd is beat boxing in it
I can't get in the car anymore without hearing this song at least once 😁❤ Ren was born in March, 1990.
Same!
One of my faves for sure! Tell Dave hi if you see him 😘
@@distractjen 😁❤
Ren was born in 1990, but it's clear that he has a deep love for rap going back to when he'd have been just a little kid (and even from before that too). He's a student of the game, in the same way he's a student of many styles of other music (like the blues/jazz you mentioned, but also reggae, rock, punk etc). Dude just really loves music.
Seriously impressed at everything you caught first listen. Respect.
I love that you don't care what others think about the pausing. I hate when reactors "act" like they caught everything when they didn't. Nothing wrong with missing something but you can see some reactors rush through, smile and say they like it and that's it! I would rather have someone tell me the truth and that includes not liking a song. It's impossible to like everything any artist does. I know you are a real reactor that breaks down the song because you care and you're not just phoning it in. I've learned so much by watching your reactions. Thanks for putting in the time and work!
What a fantastic comment, thanks so much! Thanks for taking the time to tune in 🙌🏽
@@pauzeandrewind You're welcome! Sending love and appreciation from Chicago!
Rens specialty is "What's next", so alot of reactors find a favourite style and say "why doesn't he do more of this?". But to constantly break the mould u can't be put in that box. It takes someone with your intelligence and understanding of the culture to be this good at reactions.
You will be 100k in no time with the grind brother! Keep this energy up lol.
That's dope to say man, thank you!
Love your Ren reactions, it’s like I’m discovering Ren all over again and getting all giddy over his brilliance!
For real.. and even learning new shit
It's so rare for reactors to catch the Django Reinhardt reference. Great reaction!
Oh, and if you're looking for Ren at his most jazzy bluesy, you've got to check out his Back on 74/Message in a Bottle (retake) if you haven't already.
Ren lost his 20's to sickness but he has mastered the trade with respect.
I love watching people who understand and respect music and artists react to Ren ❤
Love the reaction! You are so good at what you do. When you pause it's to talk about what you hear in the rap. That's why I'm here. You teach, I learn. Thank you. To break down bars, definitely Losing it over What you Want (a fun throwback song but not as intricate). Losing it is over a house/EDM beat. There's a lot to catch on that one.
Losing It is a EDM song by Fischer who is an Australian DJ. It won a Grammy in 2019. Ren remixed it and then rapped over it.
Nice pick-up on Django!
You caught more than most on this. Great reaction. My man also made this beat. Can hear him beat boxing on it at the very end too.
Thanks for pausing. as a musician I nerd out with the technical stuff. Incidentally, Django Reinhart only had 2 fingers on his left hand which makes him one of the greatest players ever because of that disability. When you hear him you would never know it.
Woohoo, it's a lovely end of the week surprise!
Thanks for pausing and sharing
He was beatboxing at the end as well! Damn ren does everything
The flow control and switches is so clean. He’s literally ran through rap styles through the years. It’s a one shop discography of rap styles in one track. Crazy
That was a nasty breakdown!
Thank you!!
For sure
Ren does a short clip of him improving his fast rap by increasing his speed to 200 bpm think you would enjoy or he done busking improvising around stevie wonder he plays with triple time
Great breakdown. Don't understand why you don't have more subs. Keep up the great work.
I appreciate that! I'm working on it! 💪🏾
Ren is as intelligent as he is talented. We need to protect Ren
Hell yeah man. Django Reinhardt is a beast. Good on you for knowing, bro. Great reaction.
Pause and rewind is why we love your reactions. How else are we going to learn something new that you bring up! Great, great reaction.
That's awesome, thank you!
Lol this song is in my top 5 Ren songs!
🌟✨100% my favorite reaction/breakdown to this song! Thanks for this! 🩵✨🌟
He just turned 34 at the end of March. Great reaction man. Ren is his own genre. Subscribed myGuy
Yes, Ren has a musical culture. He has done covers of Nina Simone, James Brown, Rolling Stones...etc.
Great reaction. Thank you
Wow!!! I guess I shouldn't be surprised by that.
@@pauzeandrewindyou should hear his Frank Sinatra.. he's a dead ringer vocally for 'ol blue eyes..and just as cheeky. 😊
IMO, this is Ren's showcase piece. If I want somebody to understand his versatility and agility, this is where I usually send them, first.
My man!
Pause you will love Wicked Ways
Oh yes, you get it!
Ren is a new breed, a breath of fresh air!!!
🐐
I’ll tell you why this is one of the best reactions out of at least 100. You not only broke down flow and bars, but I’ve been waiting for a reactor to catch all the historic names and references he used and someone finally did! To me that’s a true music lover. A person who knows a little about all different genres. Great reaction!
I think Ren listened to a lot of music, has read widely, is brimming with culture.
Love that you point out how Ren ends and existing rhyme scheme with a different word. But that last word is actually the set point of the next rhyme scheme focal word. Ren is the master of this; I think if you could point out one thing he does that others tend not to or never do, it is this fact.
I think the frankenstein is the pieces of different flows and he stiched'em all together in the song. The monster is the song.
Yes ! 💯💥 Great reaction 👍 THX
Have absolutely NO idea what he is doing but I love it and I am learning from u. Ty
Hahahaha thanks!
I really need to pick up my kid... 20 minute video on The Hunger? Well gotta have priorities.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great reaction! Ren usually includes his lyrics in the comments. Makes some of this even more amazing when you see the writing.
We're here for the pausing keep it up! Rens singing is amazing on the jazz and blues vibe too ❤
I LOVE learning from reactors. And this right here People , is why Rap and Hip Hop are SO VERY much more complex than people realize. It’s an education! People who say that they don’t “like” Rap and Hip Hop don’t understand it. I’m a middle aged white woman who has been listening to it through decades. I think that it deserves MULTIPLE CATEGORIES for the Grammys. I truly believe that Ren will be rising in the ranks once people give him a listening platform. He may not want that, but he is destined for it.
This is so spot on. I have said this same thing for so long. Definitely should be way more categories in hip hop. And people who say they don't like rap, don't realize they really just don't like particular content usually associated with rap and perpetuated through media. But as an art, how can you not like it once you find the content delivery you do enjoy? It's a great expression platform and captures way more than people give it credit for. Well said, my friend.
You know he makes his own beats? Ren in talent on top of talent.
definitely gotta do Losing It next! Genesis too!
Did Genesis already! Twice! Lol
Another genius wordplay in this one is "pump the treble". Treble is the word Brits use for what we in North America call 'triple'. It leads right into his fast flow which is triple-time, or as they say in the UK "treble-time".
Ren is just pure music!! Or love for music! Makes a 90’ hip hop girl, or old lady now, very happy!
Getting that much references and layers when first-time listening to this monster of a song is really impressive. Respect.
catching most of the lyrics and layers on the first listen is impressive
You catch a LOT more details of Ren's faster rapping than anyone else I've heard. I know I miss a lot, but you show me I've missed half of it. Thanks for the breakdown.
I appreciate that, thank you!
the way you just broke down that beginning rhyme scheme was eye opening...I haven't heard anyone else point it out before but now I have so much more respect for this song. Thanks man
I’ve seen so many reactions to this particular song and I have to say that this is one of the best reactions that I’ve seen.
Thank you!
Nailing it!!
How you break stuff down is perfect. To hell with the haters.👍🏻✌🏻
I dunno how accurate I am, but in the beginning where he's talking about Frankenstein and that he made a monster, that made more sense to me by the end because Frankenstein was a monster made up of body parts from a bunch of different corpses, and this monster jam he created is made up of a bunch of different cadence and rhyme scheme switches. He really did make a monster. He just pieced it all together brilliantly and brought it to life.
This nasty bag flow is my fav: "but if you have a problem my brother..." 12:07
Loved your reaction! Thank you!
I have never commented on a video before but just wanted to say this reaction brought this 55 year old whiter than white woman a lot of joy this morning. I adore Ren and to see your excitement and learn from you made me smile so hard. Thank you!
Thanks so much! I'm honored to be your first comment, and I'm really glad you enjoyed! Thanks for taking the time to tune in! Much love.
Another eloquent, intelligent, thoughtful and loving reaction. Didn't think it would be possible but thank you for making me love Hunger even more!
That's so awesome, thank you!
Best reaction! I love Rens artistic skills! He absolutely amazes me
Dude I have watched 100's of Ren reaction videos but I must say the way you break Ren down on your channel is so real and as a viewer I can see that you genuinely do understand and appreciate Ren as an artist. There are so many channels out there just using Ren for views which is fine it's a win win for both Ren and the channel, but I assure you that the Ren fans(Renegades) truly appreciate and will support reactors like you who actually do proper breakdowns and have taken the time to understand Ren...Thank you for not being fake or clueless lol. Liked and subscribed :)
What a meaningful comment, thank you. Thanks for recognizing real in a sea of fake, I appreciate that. Much love!!
Love Ren, and loved this reaction! 🙌☺️
Thank you!! 😁
BEST Ren the Hunger reaction because of the breakdown.
I can’t wait for you to get to the “Love Music” series (1-4); flow switches galore, fast rap, musical influences shout outs, and just plain fun for the love of the music. So much music to react to and I’m here for it. Love the reactions!
You know its a GREAT REACTION when you come back and watch it multiple times 🤌 your passion for the art is refreshing! Much love!!!
Never been in any doubt that you absolutely know what you're talking about!! When I first discovered Ren in January 2023 I heard Hi Ren, then Sick Boi, Chalk Outlines and then this, and from that moment on I was totally sold, the guy's a genius. Great reaction. 🖤🖤🖤
I think you should do Power and Wicked Ways next.
Oooh! Never thought of the alpha, beta, and delta _waves._ Layers and layers from Ren, man... great catch!
I love that you can hear everything that he's putting into this tune. What a wicked reaction x
Also Losing It, he goes hard twice! Flexing for sure!
“I SAID THAT!” I feel like that when I’m right 😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
One of the best breakdowns of Hunger I've heard, you and Knox know what's up. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, keep it up!
Wicked Ways, Losing It, Animal Flow, and Power are my other favorite fast RAP and heavy flow switches. Power is underrated in his full catalog of underrated, kind of his origin story.
If you want to have some fun to see his real range... Back on 74/Message in a Bottle retake is a groove and his work with The Big Push, where you absolutely must watch "I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zio/HipHop" (Ded Prez) mashup is just special (Ren wearing red suspenders version) .
❤ your reaction!!! Ren be a !!❤
You have made me so happy! This is the best reaction of The Hunger since I found Ren over a year ago. People are idiots to say that you don't know what you are talking about.
Thank you!!
Next track, “What you want.” No hints but after seeing this reaction, it will be one I know you’ll love it. “Loosing it” would be another suggestion for you. Can’t wait. Love your reactions!
Thanks!!
Ren puts lyric from other of his songs like easter eggs for his fans
Feels so good to watch someone appreciate and love this song the way we all do too. The closest I was into rap was Eminem back in early 00’s when I was a teen, but listening to Ren has just bought me into a whole new world again ❤
Hey brother.. I'm a 60 yr old Texan workin in the West Texas Oil Field. My crew turned me onto this, but with your reaction video. I get it brother. You brought up stuff I never could have understood til this.. Dam.
Don’t ever worry about your pauses, buddy. I do like when there’s lots of comments on the work. You’ve done good. Thanks!
So this is the result of Ren getting so hungry that he ate all the flows until they started overflowing and he spat them back out 😂 Ren Frankenstein then stitched them together with some beatboxing, ad-libs, and other sounds into a monster track 🔥
🤣
he told us in the beginning about him being frankenstein and the song being his monster. 🔥❤
You're genuinely hiphop and all that knowledge and history shines through in your reactions. As others have said, I think this is the best reaction to The Hunger that I've seen, you caught so much more than anyone else.
I appreciate that, G! Thanks man, much love! 🙌🏽
So good this reaction. Best one I've seen for The Hunger.
Agree with all here saying its the best Hunger reaction we have seen! Ans we have seen a lot!❤❤❤
🙏🏽 thank you
Ren:
Losing It
Down on the Beat
The Money Games 1,2&3
Genesis
Power
No one is better than you are when it comes to breaking down intricacies. Django catch was amazing, I had to google it myself to learn it was a jazz musician because I had no clue. Much love
some reactors i skip over their talking because they are boring or talk to much without saying anything. i never skip ahead in any of your videos. on point with everything you say. keep it up homie
Thanks so much, that means a lot, truly
Illest of our time ✅ The Hunger ✅
There is a time for Losing it or Wicked Ways, pick one😊
You like fast rap, won't be disappointed 😊
Amazing reaction, thank you❤
Thank you so much!! I'll definitely take these recommendations, much love!
@@pauzeandrewindyour very welcome, love your reactions ❤😊
I love your reaction. This is at least my second time watching it. So nice to see a reactor fully appreciate this as so many of them are critical of it and never take the time to break it down or hear that it’s actually part of Ren’s story. Kudos to you.
Thank you!!
Love, love, love this reaction to this song. It was the best I’ve seen.
Great reaction! Nobody picks up the Django Reinhardt bar! You can feel the Django influence on his guitar style for sure! Loved this!❤️🔥✌🏻🫶🏻
Definitely! Thank you 😊
Great reaction. I noticed the jazz in Ren's songs as well. Thank goodness for these reactions that introduce us to great artists 😊
I've got Mad-Love for Ren too! 😊 Did you notice that the entire video is one single shot...!! ✌️
Yessss!!! Love your reactions!!
Most thorough Hunger reaction and I’ve seen them all
