Awesome shop! That one guy with the Ruck sack looked like he was hauling a combat load.

and find the same ETB on an entire showcase shelf,
it SCREAMS a lack of inventory for the store.

Geoff needs to hire top of the line security with all the bells and whistles
He has security guards every day at the shop and overnight. And there's cameras everywhere. Plus the arm guards they had there that night were all very large and angry looking people. I don't think anybody wanted any trouble 🙂

When cards are so spaced out in the showcases,
it screams we lack inventory to properly fill out the cases.
They currently will be running into an inventory issue. It takes a large amount of slabs to fill one row. I would suggest not using the bottom two or three rows just to make it easy for people to see. Let's see what they end up doing, but they sold a lot and I mean a lot a slabs in the last 2 weeks. I'm sure they're inventory is hurting.
@@mikehamm007 Their basic problem is there is NOT ENOUGH inventory to begin with, AND there is not enough space dedicated to selling inventory to start with.
Half the store is filled with social gathering stuff that earns $0, first problem, too much space wasted on this, need MORE showcases to display items for sale.
Their other problem is, selling $15 slabs out of your prime showcase is a LOSING proposition, you cannot generate enough profit doing that to pay the bills.
I own three collectibles stores,
my smallest store of 3500 sq feet has
about 5x the merch this store does.
If I had half the merch, I would likely do
40% less in sales.
He is going to need his online to do some huge numbers, because there is NO WAY he can turn a profit with the brick and mortar part, his expenses are way way too high to cover. He is likely in the $3-5k per DAY for overhead, and that is being conservative.
I run $1-2k per day per store, depending on size, largest is 8500 sq ft.

I did fish after the show recently but didn't really catch anything so I don't want to just show footage of me just fishing even though it was a very nice day. But I will be bringing some fishing stuff to the channel 🙂 . Mainly do salt but I do enjoy fresh quite a bit as well. Living in Tampa I have multiple options of water to fish.

Only problem I see is the huge front windows with no security measures to it. Anyone could bust the windows, bust the cases and leave. Interesting.
They have rolling cages from the inside that come from the roof. Any door that comes into that facility or glass has one of these. It's locked down and every day they have armed security that they pay for. 😁
The risk is someone taking a truck and ramming through the security gate at night.
I heard him say in one video the vision is to be 24/7 with on-line presence to allow buyers to shop any time. Not sure if that means the shop itself will be open or just staffed by concierge people. I'm not sure how the whole public breaking/renting that space will do, but it may also be a revenue stream to offset overhead. Thanks for the video!
Yeah they do want to have a 24/7 presence. And multiple other things that they want to roll out over the next few months. Some of it is going to work on some of it isn't going to work. But his vision is to adapt to what people's interest is in the shop and all the other avenues that they are trying to put out there for people to use. Time will tell. It's going to be curious to what it looks like by the end of the year. I appreciate the comment. Tyson.

No, not at the moment and they are only buying graded. This helps with the pricing strategy and knowing exactly what something can be valued at. May change in the future.

If you want to go for a card shop experience then its great. If you are going to buy, then you will pay more because of their overhead. Its crazy by some comments that people want to complain of their prices
A ton of people, including multiple dealers, bought 100 to slabs each. They have plenty of things at 80% comp. And to them that's a can't lose situation on their whatnots and tick tock channels for selling. I think they'll do fine. Appreciate the comment. Thank you.

Are they going to have bargin boxes? I am in a few hours drive of this place but from what I have seen so far, not worth it. There prices are too high from what I seen and them not wanting to haggle on prices is a bummer.
Prices too high? Not from what a friend of mine told me that was there. His prices are on par with other card shops across America.

I am from Oregon. We don't have sales tax. If I bought something there would they void the sales tax?
I don't think so, I did bring it up but they are not most card shops and are doing business legitimately. We are used to a solid number from 99% of sellers. They may incorporate tax in the future but outside of breaks being finite, you will pay sales tax. 🥺

Are all the cards for the showcases are out? There are a lot of empty spaces.
A lot of people bought a lot of cards. I know of two vendors at the show that bought 2 to 300 cards while they were there. Plus at the show they're buying the 3 days so they'll have new inventory immediately. They had a lot of cards priced at around 80% of comps. I would say give it a month and see how much inventory they end up holding versus having in the store. I'm sure we'll be continual updates from the store. I appreciate the question. ill be honest the main entrance is kinda cringe... cause there set up looks like those vids i watch that got flash mob by robbers...i hope they put more security or thicker glasses for their cabinet or tables etc...
They have rolled down cages that are solid so when the stores closed at night can't see in. And even if you broke the glass you still have to get through a metal garage style door. Plus they have security there throughout the evening until the morning everyday. Should be pretty secure. I'm assuming that they'll get some heart on the windows outside as well.
Wilson's gonna have to net at least 250k a month to keep that place open I don't see the atl market being that strong
I'm sure they're sponsorship dollars and things like that are involved that they can use from market mover since they're using the space as well. Having a space like that is going to be multiple avenues of business and one place allows them to share revenue. Shouldn't be a problem for him.

It is fantastic, I think it will work out great. They will tweak somethings and dial it in. Geoff just built him a playground. There are also future ideas they have as well. It's in a solid location with tons of parking as it shares a parking lot with AMC. Plus their buying structure is strong.

It looks like modern rendition of a multi-faceted card shop which doesn't really even exist until now. This is the only store like this that we know of in the world. Let's just see how it adapts. Again, this isn't going to be for everybody. I still like going into an old school shop that's been around forever with packs and that old smell. But most card shops today are tiny and don't honestly offer a lot, especially with the ability to online sales. Should be interesting, but I would give it a couple months to see what it looks like by then.

Not impressed. If you're not a millionaire, (literally) don't bother. I felt uninvited as soon as I walked in. 5 employees behind the counter, not one came out from behind the counter to greet me or ask if they could help me locate anything. the store was not busy at all. one guy looking in a cabinet. They stared a hole in me as I looked around and were waiting on me to come up to them. I took a shower before I went, not really sure what the problem was other than they don't give a rip.
Well that's not a good experience. I have not been in there on what would be a normal day. Customer service needs to be top notch in a place this nice

Where's the commons...oh that's right...that stuff is shit......just throw that cardboard waste right out in the trash. Which brings me to my point - 99.9% of the cards out there....are worthless. But maybe it would be wise to have 25 cent pile for younger collectors.
Yeah, you're pretty much right. But then again if they put packs together with just five hits in it and you pay the up charge for not having Base people will then cry about not having bass. LOL. Yeah I usually just throw these in a box and say $10 for a dollar and let everybody ravaged through it. It's great for the kids a lot of times I just give them away.
