The Volvo XC70 wagon combines real off-road ability with first-class safety and luxury appointments. Virtually alone in terms of direct competition from other premium brand wagons, the XC70s closest competitor remains Subarus Outback wagon. While the Subaru may be a more capable off-road warrior, it cant match the XC70s luxury trimmings and premium-brand status. If a big SUV is more vehicle than you need, and a third-row seat is not an issue, the Volvo XC70 is the ideal mode of transport for the active-lifestyle family. i used to run my '85 Volvo 240 Wagon full speed on dirt roads with no problems
It also says 3.2L V6 at about 1:39, not inline 6
My mom has a 2008 Volvo XC70. She loves it. She has a navigation system and premium sound on it.
This is definitely the best video review of the new XC70, and helps in my decision about whether or not to put in my factory order.
just reviewing the volvo xc 60 and now the 70 they both offer top quality style comfort and safety which brings value to this already superfluous brand
You're not mentioning the best powertrain this car offers, the 2.4 5-inline diesel, probably because we all know it puts to shame any competition 😎👍
thank you...
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), gave 5 Volvo cars their Top Safety Pick award, more than any other car company except Mercedes, which also won 5 awards. Many cars nowadays have the same safety features as Volvos (finally), but these awards show that Volvo is STILL leading on the cutting edge of safety.
Volvo basically invented vehicle safety. The rules are based on them. No need to check the scores, you already know they're going to get top marks.
Yhaaaa Volvo XC70 its so nice
Do a vid on the xc90
I own a XC70 D5. Fuel economy isn't what you would expect from a diesel engine, but I'm not really bothered about that. I just love the car.
very strong and valuable car for the money if we use right way
Oh you bad man - the 3.2 engine is a straight-6 not a V!
The Audi Allroad is definitely a better direct competitor than a goddamn Noobaru
Audi sucks. I had a TT. Audi blows.
LOVE THIS CAR! I hope they NEVER discontinue this beatiful car!
SUV7777777 oops lol
Do you still have it now?
Yeah the TDI is a good engine, and you can get in in the Touareg, but not the Passat wagon. I'm a big fan of diesel wagons- and I look to examples like your police to support that! What a beautiful ride for emergency services!
thank you lol
she bought it used for about $29,000. good condition but not perfect. 3,000 miles. she has always been fond of volvo, bmw, and audi. her previous car was a 2002 audi a6, which she LOVED. she just wanted a slightly roomier and more "updated" car. i think her car before the a6 was some old 90's bimmer.
New engine upgrades for 2011 models 3.2 liter engine gets 240 hp wich is a 5 hp gain and for the T6 gets 300 hp and 325 pounds feet of torque. Which is a 19 hp gain and 30 pounds feet of extra torque. So this can tow like a V8. Source-Volvo.
This is a very good car but, why automatic transmission?
At 5:02 he implies that the turbo charged engine is the 3.2 engine. The turbo charged engine is a 3.0L engine, called the T6. The naturally aspirated engine is a 3.2L engine.
He also calls the 3.2 a V6.
Credibility zero.
Not no more. They are around 8,000 dollars in 2018.
And now like $2K in 2020. Mine's worthless these days. Sturdy old ride, tho! Nearly 200K on the clock.
@@2WhiteAndNerdy My ride has 19,000 miles on it. 2004 tho..
@CrazyDave650 That is because full speed was only 15mph. :)
The date of the 5 Volvo awards by the IIHS was Dec 2011--just for the record. Oh, and Volvos are cheaper than Mercedes.
@lupischuckle They do for the European models...
lol yea
i'm 14.. she's keeping her a6 at home.. she's gonna give it to me when i start driving (YES!! lol) it's got a power sunroof, leather seating, radio controls on the steering wheel, yea..
I'm sure that you all know that the chinese automaker Geely bought Volvo recently. People, don't freak out Volvo will still be made in Sweden and in Belgium and have its own board of directors so it will be Volvo's own thinking. And Geely will only be reciving parts and technologes from Volvo, not the other way around.
In Europe the 2.5D is the most common version.
2.5D produces same torque as the T6, but has superior consumption and fuel range. The USA is a big place, so should those factors matter?
T6 = 440 Nm (324 lb.ft)
Fuel Consumption = 8.1L / -L / 15.1L / 10.6L (22 mpg)
Range = 660 km
CO2 emissions = 248 g/Km
0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) = 7.4 s
D5= 440 Nm (324 lb.ft)
Fuel Consumption = 5.7L / -L / 8.7L / 6.8L (34 mpg)
Range = 1029 km
CO2 emissions = 179 g/Km
0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) = 8.3 s
@04smallmj Yeah I know, and I don't understand why they don't bring that option to the North American market. Diesel is the way to go!
@Etyphoon88 Diesel vehicles have historically been dismal sellers in the US but they are trying to make a comeback. I hope that it happens. I live in SE Asia now and have a great diesel Hyundai Tucson 4WD AT. That is another vehicle that never made it to the US.
lol i don't control what my parents drive... my dad has a honda civic!!
my first car will probably be her old 02 audi a6
No diesel-powered XC70 in the US?? Here in Europe, the D5 (205hp) diesel-engine is about the only one you see in a XC70. Much better fuel economy and torque!
I've got one
actually I have XC60 D5 and XC70 D5 love them
They should hammer a turbo diesel into this car. Then maybe I'd be interested.
@lupischuckle The police here use them as traffic cars so they must have good diesel engines! VW's TDI engines are also really nice.
What country is that ?
I have a new v70 :P
Uh wow, what a great job on showing a car _without_ Integrated SatNav, Blind Spot Information System, and Adaptive Cruise Control. The car driven in the video had none of those discussed features. Stock photos were used to show off those options - the actual drive car had a Garmin Nuvi (3:08), and the wrong mirror & steering wheel to support BLIS and ACC (4:16 / 4:28 respectively).
dude how old are you i would drive that shit all day! lol
it's kinda strange that you asked that, but i'll answer it anyway.. his civic is a 2006, and he's perfectly fine with it
i didn't want to have to spend $1000 on some little beaten up 20-year-old fuck, and since my mom got the volvo, she's gonna give me her 2002 audi a6
and now... the Saab 9-3X is out...
0:55 Economy?
If only it came with a handbrake and diesel. I can live with the floating console eventually, but I want the handbrake.
Hmm... The S80's 4.4 V8 would fit! Come on cheap gas and economic rebound!
your mom has to have enough money to buy that car :) volvo is the best... :) I'm happy for u :D:D
Kelly Blue Book is losing a lot of credibility here.
lucky bastard!! lol
ok, This was proberly the worst review. they say that the V70 and the V50 has better comfort? well first of they when tehy say V70 they show an odler V70 R. R is the "sport" mode of the V70. and the XC70 is just much better than that. I now this because we have one.
what a horrible and untrustworthy review of a GREAT wagon. Volvo 💙💙
I'd rather have one of these than a Bugatti Veyron, seriously.
There was no V6 engines in Volvo ehhh… you know nothing.
Volvo doesn’t make a v6! It’s I6. They haven’t made a v6 since the late 80s. Ignorant review.
