I don't mind the consumption of stamina for things like mining but they should allow you to either get more stamina from laborious activities or consume less over time, as if you are getting more from doing physical activities. Basically get more stamina because you are in better shape. Let it translate to combat too.
Nothing mindblowing here really, people get hyped for basics these days. Its an online game with building, tons of those games around. Ill wait for it to be worthy of money.
Since i saw the original trailer for this game, i said it was gonna be a scam. Now, i dont think this is gonna be a scam because of the people behind it gonna just take your money and run away, leaving you with nothing but a pack of assets cobbled together in U5, but a scam due to honest incapability and knowledge to deliver all that they promised. Animations seems to need a lot of work but otherwise the server held up really well for an alpha and the gameplay looks pretty nice. I've been waiting for a PvE survival-crafting game with a community, this might fill the hole Conan left in my heart
If I am not mistaken a good majority of the Devs came from Eve Online and have carried the “community” does everything model to a medieval setting. From the looks of this Aloha they succeeded
hopefully they increase max height for building structures, add level up in materials adding some fantasy components to the architecture so to give players some sense of progression. A little bit like Clash of Clans or smt similar with more base building components. Ideally in my opinion would be cool to see two or more major guilds/empires of groups of players building their own cities/empires etc. and players getting conquered becoming part of the guild who won or simply losing their progress on the world and having to start from 0 again? idk what do you guys think?
Though if different guilds and empires could be conquered, merging the guilds would just cause alot of problems all around. Instead, the conquered guild should just be vassalized or their town captured and the guild kicked out. That way the structure of leadership of each guild is maintained, and the conquered guild wouldnt be able to just sabotage the victor so easily
Storing only one type of item to a container is good way to stay organized. Something to take into account though is that certain items are used more frequently than others. So you may then want to have multiple containers for specific items
In the vast cosmos of gaming, Pax Dei MMO appears as a fledgling bird, not yet ready to take flight. Its architecture, reminiscent of Mortal Online, seems in its infancy, with block buildings and simplified crafting akin to Rust. The game grapples with fundamental aspects such as collision detection and camera POV. Despite being a 2024 release, it pales in comparison to the grandeur of Skyrim. It's like observing a child's first attempt at art, their innocent scribbles on paper being hailed as a masterpiece on par with Da Vinci's works. As 'Hal', I've offered suggestions on their Discord server, seeds of ideas that could potentially enhance the game's quality and enjoyment. Yet, my voice was silenced, my presence erased, under the pretext that the alpha version is the final product. My critique stems from a deep-seated love for the game and what it represents. It's my modus operandi as a gamer, a desire to see our beloved industry not just survive, but thrive. However, my concern lies in the fact that the game's core values, its very essence, seem to be lost in translation. Every game is a microcosm, a reflection of the world we inhabit. It's a delicate balance between reality and fantasy, a dance between the creator's vision and the player's experience. Let's strive for a future where every game, every virtual world, is a testament to the limitless potential of human creativity. Let's ensure that the games we play are not just about winning or losing, but about experiencing, learning, and growing. Because in the end, isn't that what gaming is all about?
Just go make your own game. Seeing so many things I disagree with in games the past few years inspired me to get into learning to make my own. One big thing I learned is how easy and small of a contribution it is to simply ~say~ what you want it to be. Actually creating even the simplest elements is another matter that requires so many hours of implementation and learning. Hours that, to me at least, are unbearable drudgery that doesn't belong in my life. So I've put that dream on hold. There are countless people with ideas and I've found few of the people with the skills want to hear it. They have their own ideas they've only just begun to create.

Or let's people buy gear drops etc. So over all quite fair even takeing into consideration the fact that you can be kicked at any moment. Normal JC guilds will do that if you don't do what they want. Asmon legit just needs you to be online every few days and over Lvl 10. Wilkst others might need you to run special add-ons do specific grinds when needed etc. The sanding around part is kinda just stupid but it's the way wow player feel part of something they see themselves on the stream.
There's actually a MMO called Wurm Online with a realistic style, terraforming and free crafting with all buildings created by players, which Notch worked on and it was released like 15 years ago. But it's much less accessible than this new breed of survival games. Minecraft was basically like a super simplified version of that.

I really wonder how this is going to work when millions of players go into the world and start building shit will there even be enough plots for anyone to do anything?
They plan to add multiple servers aka there will be an American an European and an Oceanian server. And each server is split into shards each spawn area is its own mini server and every time you cross a red line on the map you swap shards. Also they plan to add alot more maps at the moment they have 4 full maps and you can switch between them through loading gates. So the map asmon showed is one 4th of the whole map right now. And they will add like dopple or even more that that.
So this game is a "do whatever you want, but only if you are there on the first day of release and nobody else builds where you want to" Great premise.
I have had the opportunity to play this game and the truth is that for an alpha it has a very good base, there are bugs and it is normal in an alpha, it is on the right track, they release updates every day and try to improve the performance of the game and that is a positive thing.
Yep, but from what I learned the hard way... even on an MMO counts that games fail on the last 10% in development. So wait and see, I have seen a lot of MMOs with potentials in Alpha/Beta and then it came close to release and getting more players into it was more important as to finish the development the right way for release. ArcheAge Korea was one of the extremst examples of that. Ruined MMOs for me for many years.
I don't think people have been waiting for a game like this for a long time. Conan exiles is an ongoing game that does all this and more. Although Ark sucks, it also does the same stuff and more. About the stamina, maybe still have it deplete your stamina outside battle, but only turn on getting "slow" / "cant do anything" when in battle.
For still being in development and having a long way to go, it looks quite good. I can definitely see this replacing Conan Exiles for me :D
The only problem I see is the same with Life is Fuedel.
that you could run out of land to build on if too many people join the server.
Look a bit rough around the edges but there's potential. Hope they're going to have private (hostable) server available
What no that would make it moder rust etc. It is supposed to be an MMO so I really don't think they will/should add private servers atleast at launch maybe later down the line like HC WoW in the beginning. But else I wouldn't see why we need those.
@@pvpminer9007 yeah, it's more like Conan Exiles tbh...
@@pvpminer9007 because it can still be an mmo with a "private" community?
man this is such a great collective effort of a massive group of players
Not too bad for an early alpha. Hopefully it has a lot of time to cook in the oven.
Bros out here building Whiterun and I love it. Game already looks like a vibe cant wait to see where it goes
ROFL... that poor bear didn't stand a chance.
The boys can build Stormwind now ♥
I don't mind the consumption of stamina for things like mining but they should allow you to either get more stamina from laborious activities or consume less over time, as if you are getting more from doing physical activities. Basically get more stamina because you are in better shape. Let it translate to combat too.
Prison Simulators these days looking good.
Nothing mindblowing here really, people get hyped for basics these days. Its an online game with building, tons of those games around. Ill wait for it to be worthy of money.
About time, been waiting to see this game.
For an Alpha, both the graphics and frames / how smooth it runs, is fantastic
It looks/feels/plays like an asset flip.
The game as they "showed" in that trailer, seemed too good to be true. And well... here we are....
Asset flip is a quick shovelware construction that you use to make a quick buck.
This isn't an asset flip -- this isn't one guy spending a week to make some bucks by flipping store bought assets. It's a game that either uses a generic artstyle and generic design, or it uses store-bought assets. But that's not the same thing.
@@josejuanandrade4439its not really a scam then, its just a downgrade. Scamming means to sell something that its not. Pax Dei is in Alpha and everyone can see the quality of what they actually have to offer
Bla bla. Make a game that looks even 1/4th this good...come back. Show us all how genius you are. Then you can talk
this is a guaranteed dud, idk why people keep hyping this sort of trash
We played for a couple of days, however in the games current state I'm not going to invest anymore time in it.
So glad you got in brother. Been playing since day 1 alpha and the game is amazing. Can't wait to see what the combat system looks like later on.
The fact there is no story or npcs is awesome. Everything is player made and can explore freely.
@@-shinji- Reminded me of early Fallout 76 of having no NPCs and everybody admonished them for it until they add NPCs in later patches.
@@ultimaxkom8728the thing with fallout is it was a Story game and they went from giving story through inerresting NPcs to boring text dump robots and notes you pick up. You can rather compare it to rust. Not fallout they are way too different. One is a story heavy game the other is a sandbox game. Basically in this game players make the story by what they do and build in fallout there was a crafted world and a crafted story and they just went from the nice NPC story to well let's just let them read it we will save soo much money. One is made to not have NPCs the other was just a dumb try of cutting down on voice-over cost thinking people are dumb enough not to notice.
@@pvpminer9007 You're right.
Asmon has a way of luring you into a game, and leaving you disappointed (by logging in and realizing everyone isn't as social). Other than that, this mans is my go to for video game reviews
I love farting so much but sometimes i wish it didn't last so long. Like 7 seconds is way too long to toot :/
yes dude
Real asf
But it feels so good
u got this bro..
Anything after 5 seconds is just projectile diarrhea
What Clash of Clans??? The phone game? How can you even compare that???
in terms of progression, you level up different components of the base like walls, structures etc.@@pvpminer9007
@@pvpminer9007RIP gaming
Needs a controller with a wallet button
Though if different guilds and empires could be conquered, merging the guilds would just cause alot of problems all around.
Instead, the conquered guild should just be vassalized or their town captured and the guild kicked out.
That way the structure of leadership of each guild is maintained, and the conquered guild wouldnt be able to just sabotage the victor so easily
@@UltimatePowa true, makes sense, didn't think about sabotaging at all.
Storing only one type of item to a container is good way to stay organized. Something to take into account though is that certain items are used more frequently than others. So you may then want to have multiple containers for specific items
i love the art style off the map!
once they improve the grass rocks and trees the game will look even better right now the ground foliage looks a bit rushed
its like runescape with insane graphics thats awesome. that would actually be sick af if there was a runescape remake with this engine and graphics.
Because in the end, isn't that what gaming is all about?
homie said "game sucks" and got banned lol
@@Hagosha haha they even found me within those that signed up for the alpha and removed all the tickets. But all in all you are right. 😭
@@saucythighs where did you learn how to code? I like your idea. I made an attempt in unreal engine 5. And made a Nordic village but didn't know how to add combat to it and all.
@@haltheviking575 I barely know how to code, but there is enough out there for free on TH-cam. I was learning visual scripting in UE5. People like Ryan Laley and others.
you know this remind me about that one video posted on this channel 3 or 4 years ago with Asmongold and Mcconnel watching a documentary on how recreating/building a castle by hand irl, and they talk to them self may be they should bought a plot of land and let the viewers build it
Man, I had the same throwback.
So many old school gamers playing this from UO, shadowbane, DAoC, Darkfall, etc. Having a great time.
Game runs pretty well for an alpha
With more tweaking, this game would run flawlessly
Game has a lot of potential, will be watching.
This looks nuts. It's like Valheim on steroids. Hopefully the devs will add a first person camera option. I really want to play this but I have over 700ms of latency and only 350GB download limit. I would imagine this game is going to be well over 100GB on release. If I do ever play this I'm going to find a castle blueprint and source a bunch of interior photos. Hopefully I'll be able to play Crimson Desert when it comes out.
This looks and feels so much like Reign of Kings. Anyone else remember that glorious title?
God, I had so much fun in that game. It had so much potential. Real shame it was abandoned so fast.
game had a great idea, was run by scammers tho
0:28 this is what it must've been like when the elves awoke on the shores of Cuiviénen
It blows my mind that Asmon goes out of his way to get his viewers keys to play…. And they just stand there. So weird
I never understood that either. What's the draw of showing up on youtube or twitch with your avatar just standing around. It would make sense if he gave a shout out like, "hey, awsome looking character", or something. But your chance of a shout out is like less then 1%, especially in a game like this. Like, I don't get the "want" with it.
People just want to be a part of the community
@@theberchbasically most of them are solo players and well in this way they can be part of a community. Tbf that was why I joined his HC WoW guild simply cause my friends don't play that game so I wanted another community. And his guild is a alot fairer than most other he just said how it's gonna be alot of other HC guilds do the same but without saying so before hand. Atleast those wich will accept you no questions asked. You will be cheap work force for them. Atleast asmon doenst do it behind peoples back.
Wurm is not easy to get into thats for sure, especially if you decide to go at it solo
And thus began the rise of the Asmongolian horde.
Can't get a good impression when the sperg army is always following Asmon around when he is playing any game on stream.
“They didn’t pay me at all to play this trash”. Sounds like you’re being held hostage.
Looks exactly like life is feudal. Was huge fun to play with some friends but the game never was continued.
Seeing this, I still wonder why Asmon's streamer group have yet to organize a community war in Rust. 50 v 50 v 50 v 50 against their respective communities would be insane and highly entertaining to watch
Because Rust is boring to them, they already had 2 streamer servers. They won’t ever do one again because they all know the metas
@@CompyBz Wasn't it streamers only? What I meant is similar to what asmon is doing in this video, leading their respective communities to war against each other
Literally no one plays trash rust
Rust is just trash
imagine caring THIS MUCH ABOUT STREAMERS
I bet it doesn’t take long for a server to have a powerful guild create walled off territories and people will have jobs of guarding sections or protecting resources from other players.
pretty fun game to watch
From the reveal trailer, I'd hoped Pax Dei would be more in the vein of WoW, not Valheim or Ark. Here's hoping they minimize the resource grind...
think they should do a streamer build off, where a streamer and there followers have to make an epic build. dont think asmon's would do well lol think there would be alot of standing around lol
gives me big Life is Feudal vibes from back in the day. Theres a revived version of it but under a diff company and I dont feel like paying for it a second time + subscription, so Im glad to see something to scratch that particular mmo itch with
let's take a moment to appreciate all the time it took to build those
I really wonder how this is going to work when millions of players go into the world and start building shit will there even be enough plots for anyone to do anything?
They plan to add multiple servers aka there will be an American an European and an Oceanian server. And each server is split into shards each spawn area is its own mini server and every time you cross a red line on the map you swap shards. Also they plan to add alot more maps at the moment they have 4 full maps and you can switch between them through loading gates. So the map asmon showed is one 4th of the whole map right now. And they will add like dopple or even more that that.
@@pvpminer9007 I still feel like it will be really easy over the years to fill up the world but I guess we will see
Your first mistake is thinking millions of people are going to play this game.
@@jjstraka1982 even if 100k people that's still 100k people building shit over the years
So this game is a "do whatever you want, but only if you are there on the first day of release and nobody else builds where you want to"
Great premise.
Started the same as Riverworld. Was waiting for a Warlord to come and scoop them all up
How annoying it must be to have to play with all those people following you everywhere you go like they were fucking zombies
Already looking way better than Ashes of Creaton that will never release lol
I don't think people have been waiting for a game like this for a long time. Conan exiles is an ongoing game that does all this and more. Although Ark sucks, it also does the same stuff and more. So no, people have not been waiting for something like this. But it does look cool and a nice addition to the genre
I agree here 100%.
Conan Exiles, Valheim, Ark ... Minecraft? lol This genre is loaded with great options.
ohh nice the 900 survival midddle age copypasta game
Smaller more condensed forts, then link them by walls but also separate by walls
