    I love what Petur touched on with fast travelling. Mounts are absolutely required, but I do not want to be able to fast travel everywhere super quickly, I want to take time to appreciate the scale of Pax Dei for sure.

    A couple of lessons learned from Eve Online:
    1) Engage the community. Interviews like this give the players a sense you love the product and are excited about it.
    2) Hand players the reigns. Let the players form their own stories and groups so if they feel the game is getting dull they can directly take action to change that.
    3) Monetization is key. Having a backing currency that players can buy or earn in game is a huge way to ensure an economy really forms.
    4) Give players who don’t want PvP a home. Build a PvP community based game but ensure players who do not want PvP have areas where they feel safe and can build communities of their own. The design of high sec, low sec, and null sec worked well. The more risk of PvP you embraced the higher the reward. But all were valid ways to play the game.
    5) Embrace being reset. Real loss keeps players engaged in the game. The gameplay loop of farm, craft, enjoy, lose gives players something to always be working towards. And lets players who prefer one aspect of the game to feel like their aspect has an impact.
    6) Wealth building as a focus. Most MMOs focused on the gear as the thing players try to accumulate but if real loss is built into the game then wealth building becomes a means to lessen the impact of losing something.

      Ya, it feels bad that he has been covering AoC for so long and then lands an interview with PD. For all of his shenanigans, he does produce good and, (dare I say,) thoughtful/insightful content.

    Crafting/Gathering/Combat suggestion: An implementation of each different animal not just elites or Alphas have different properties such as, tougher skin, or a lizard being able to blend in with the environment, having there pelt or Skin drop with the properties of that Monster which transfers percentage wise into the armor created with that skin or drop in general. Also allowing the mix of multiple skins or drops for crafting to create multi layered but possibly lessened percentage of attributes. Such as a fur inner lining but a scale coating on a chest piece to stay warmer and have good protection but you have to farm two different types of monsters to craft, and possibly have a certain skill level.

    I think in the concept of fast travel, large communities, such as guild territories should have the ability to unlock certain craftables, in such a case where if there is like 20+ territories connected to one another they unlock a lodestone which allows people to recall to that specific location on an hour cooldown. This gives people the sense of being able to wander out from their territory, go on an adventure, explore, dungeon crawl, get into some crap and if they gotta get going or need to return they can use a hearth or recall to get home. But clearly with certain mechanics to prevent it from being abused, but also gives it a way to become like the centerpiece of the community. Like just imagine a large courtyard with a massive teleportation lodestone in the center of it. Plant some trees around it, I think it would not only look cool, but it would have utility aswell.

      and in terms of establishing friendly alliances, or trading with other communities, you can link up your lodestones to allow eachother to traverse between eachother, only limited to a certain amount of connections, making the decision of who you ally with to be very important. Having this, would allow communities to interact with eachother, and i don't think it would take away from the experience of exploring the world. it would just simply serve as a means to connect 2 different alliances over a vast distance.

    I seriously hope a game like this takes notes from RuneScapes time level scaling..so we’re not maxing in the first week and game over, I want it to take months or years to max skills…it’s such an addicting feature that no games seem to take advantage of and it’s frustrating

      I agree, I want the hard-core to take at least 6 months. Almost like eve was before skill injectors, 13 years to max out all skills but even a month in you could go do things because the large weapons had a hard time hitting small ships

    Mount Suggestion: IF it is dedicated servers rather than a main server. Different players tend to prefer certain things like emersion breaking when roleplaying. Having stuff like horses that wait in the world for you to return, or being able to unsummon them may be a good thing for allowing servers to toggle on or off (when a server is first created).
    Or you could go for a middle ground and have the mount only stand there when owner of mount is within a certain radius (and possible no other players nearby), until it is unsummoned.

    Overall, I have to say this sounds like it is the MMO survival game I've been hoping for. It might hold me over for a while AND my wife might play it. She won't be doing AoC.

    If you want to be priest / healer can you do that around the start with prayers to help you level? And have altar in your first house etc?

    What if:
    When fail an item craft, you have to bring the remains to one of those underground forts or some location, to get a certain percentage of your materials back, so you can try another craft.

    It makes no sense for a crafter - especially a master crafter - to fail a craft and lose materials. I was glad to see failures increase skill xp because we learned from the attempt.

    I get a bit of a mixed messages from them. Seems like a lot of ideas lack clear direction. The general premise seems to be there but it gives me a lot of New World vibes in terms of development process especially the way they try to incorporate pvp. Progression system also seems a like a big hit or miss as well. We'll wait, we'll see but as far as I do t discredit them I am not fully sold on it as well.

    This game feels like a Valheim with different visual representation. Copies so much from the workbench up until the building...etc Even the building elements are exactly the same. After 10 minutes, I felt like someone remade Valheim in Unreal 5. BUT. I see the differences with the multiplayer side which is a big issue with Valheim 10 max player sized lobbies. I'm also ready to play the same game I love so much with different visuals and graphics. :D

    So let me get this straight. There are no spells that you learn through scrolls it’s all through armor? I’m trying to wrap my head around why these games are doing this eternal tombs Amber’s adrift and now this game I don’t see why they are doing this I just want to play a a caster with innate magic for the love of God. The other huge question is will there be crowd control?
