I had my PS5 upside down with the CD side up. It over heated in about an hour. I put the CD down with the PS logo top side the way it should be, now it runs forever. Does not over heat. As dumb as that sounded it worked for me

To keep my console "dust free" I just turn it off at the power (and unplug it), then place a clean pillow cover over my horizontal set-up. So far it has not acquired any dust.
Vertical creates an issue where the dust/debris that enters falls down onto the PSU vent holes. This causes those holes to clog and will eventually cause the PS5 to shut down from overheating. I have seen this first hand and can confirm this. How long it takes to manifest just depends. Depending on how dusty the environment is and how long per day you use it.
Not the vacuum brush on the faceplate 🤦♂️ not to mention the position you have it in is congestive you need to give it breathing room that tv and up against the wall is preventing it from getting good airflow your basically cycling hot air through it and in result will cause more heating and less cooling.

Not true. I mean, the THEORY behind it is solid. But you'd need to move MASSIVE amounts of air for the fan blades to spin fast enough as to produce energy.
I just bought ps5 2 days back and when I'm playing ps5 game, an error pops up ( your ps5 is overheating, turn it off) i have checked there is no dust or anything i just got it 2 days back.. changed the setup too vertically to horizontally) nothing is working.. PS5 games are causing overheating error to pop up within 5 mins of gameplay.. + my PS5 doesn't appear to be warm when i touch it when the error pops up yet it's turning my ps5 off automatically... it's working fine with ps4 games.. i played horizon zero dawn for an hour, no error observed but as soon as I switched to COD or astro playroom, within 5 mins it says overheating and it turns off automatically. Please tell me what to do??

Don’t put it in a bag and I don’t think using a shop vacuum will hurt anything because when you take the plates off the actual inside of PS5 is not exposed!!!👍🏽😌🔥
@@korrrupted you have to get to the psu to stop the overheating if you lift out your fan (without removing wires) use a flashlight and shine down towards where the power cable is you should see a black piece with a bunch of holes, if they are blocked up clean them off I used a make-up brush and cleaned it toothbrush works to that will solve your issue I haven't had an issue ever since that (day 1 ps5 also)

You need to remove the fan (without removing the wires) just be gentle and place it to the side of your ps5, your heatsink will be visible to you if it's dusty clean it with a soft brush and microfiber cloth, gently clean your fan also now here's the most important part and is most likely the cause of the issue (was for me) get a flashlight and shine towards where the power cable would go, you should see a black piece with a bunch of little holes if those are clogged up that's your issue right there stick a make up brush or toothbrush there and clear the hole I did this and my ps5 runs like I first got it don't be intimidated by opening it up I was at first but the steps I gave you are the easiest without taking apart the whole thing good luck hope I could help
Big likes only way to fix it is mod it they dont have good enough fans and the fans are in a dumb place was just a bad design next gen was a money gimmick

I have the same issue ONLY with COD MW2. Did you fix it??? I dont think its dust. It does NOT happen with Vanguard, Warzone or other games. Only the new MW2. Please let me know.
