Thank you very much in deed . this precious lesson has been really helpful to me .. you're wonderful person who can truly facilitate us to learn English correctly . I really appreciate you this great job ..
It was quite helpful ! Although, I had already seen this kind of grammar but I was confused about what was the difference between direct object and indirect object, but this video helped me to understand it perfectly. Thank you so much !
Hai there.....This is guna from india.i have watched your videos.it's good and gives me more confidence to take theIELTS exam. This videos are very useful to improve my speaking skills ...thanks for all
Dear Andrew, I have watched many of your video clips. They are indeed very insightful and lively. Would you kindly please make a next lesson about Participial Prepositions for me. I would be very grateful. Thanking you in anticipation. Best wishes, Fazil
Thank you. Firstly when I have just seen the title of this video, I thought that the subject would be "personal pronounce", where the word "pronounce" is a noun that was intentionally used as something like a joke:) I hope you understand. However, the word "pronounce" can only act as a verb . Andrew, could you please make a video about conditional sentences(where it would be considered what tense types can be used, for example we cannot use the future tense in conditional zero sentences) or about time prepositions where you would cover such prepositions as within, during, by, upon, since, prior to, till, untill, pending, up to, etc. And some cases where we must not use any preposition, for example, this year, last week... All current video and text lessons cover only simple prepositions like for, as, it , on, in. That's very sad :(
+Diego Pio Thanks for your comment. I am happy that you like my English lessons. Small correction for you: "It was perfect." or "It was a perfect class." or "This class was perfect." Best wishes, Andrew
+Gianella Gonzales Hello and thanks for the comment and question. You have used the personal pronoun "THEY" correctly. But the first sentence is missing the preposition "AT". Here is the correction: Look *AT* those dresses. They are beautiful. Best wishes, Andrew
When I saw your lesson “Personal Pronouns”, I think oh it’s easy for me but I’m wrong. Exceptions are very useful. Thanks so much. May I have a question? To identify, not introduce on the phone “Hello mum it’s David…”. However, if we talk to someone on the phone for the first time, we should introduce “Hello, I’m David…”, right?
ngoc thuy nguyen huynh Yes, that is correct. If the other person does not know us, we say "Hello, I'm David.." or "Hello, my name is David..." Best wishes Andrew
amal john Hello. I have lessons about common prefixes and suffixes here: th-cam.com/video/ZKDa52iTRFQ/w-d-xo.html and also th-cam.com/video/ucX5iHGwS_k/w-d-xo.html Best wishes Andrew
Hello, thank you for the lesson. it`s very informative/ I have a question: How about situations when you say, for instance^Who did this. it`s me. "Me" here is the subject pronoun or the object pronoun?
Dear Prof, I was wondering if I might dare to ask you a question? May I use One instead of he or she ? Let me explain presently: how are you, Andrea ? Ohh One (I) cannot complain . Thank you kindly. A
Hi there, excellent video. I have a question. In my language (Spanish), when we do not know the gender of animals we can use a "he" or a "she." For instance, a cat is a "he," a dog is a "he," a spider is a "she," a giraffe is a "she," and so on. In English, I thought that we should use "it" because it is a neuter pronoun. However, I live in Australia, and I have seen some TV shows where the speaker refers to a spider as a "she" and a dog as "he" even if the gender is not clear (especially in the spider case). Does there exist a gender similar to the Spanish rule that I have described above?
Crown Academy of English yes I saw that in the video, but what about the spider? Is the spider a "she"? Or was it just an special case in the Rv show where I heard that?
If it is relevant or important, then we specify the gender. Usually the gender of a spider is not possible to know or important so we say "it" but if it is a science TV show, then maybe it was important.
Crown Academy of English thank you so much for your reply, I really appreciate the time that you give to your followers. I love your videos because they help me to remember lots of things that I have forgotten.
Good video this mean the identifying it Who is (it ) It is me Wich dog is it It is my sister's dog /or i do not know wich dog it is so all those eat has to do with identifying Wichh person is it It is my brother Or do you know wich person is it if i want to identifying ,, My cuestion is that is the rule in all those example am i right or wrong i hope you help me please,, i know that that it is the it of identifying in those sentences with diferent sentences one with wwq others statements Wich baby is it , if i say that i want you to identyfing the baby it could be wich baby is the baby , It is my sister's baby identifying Or the baby is my sister's baby also i hope this is the rule with that it in those examples 😥😂😊

sukhjit kaur Hello and thanks for your answers. Here are some comments and small corrections: 1 It is cold day. --> "It is *a* cold day." or "It is cold today." 2 It is snowing now. --> correct 3 It is old house. --> "It is *an* old house." 5 It is important to learn English. --> correct 6 I am making a cup of tea. --> correct 7 He is eating a cake. --> correct 8 she is cleaning house. --> She is cleaning *the* house. 9 My name is Sukhjit Kaur I am your student. --> correct 10 I am going to the park. Do you want to come with me?--> correct Well done, you have learned a lot from this lesson. Best wishes, Andrew
One of your examples for personal pronouns was wrong. "Ask your teacher. They will help." Teacher should be teachers. (It needs to be plural if you are going to use 'they'.
+Cathy Noye Hello and thanks for your comment. In fact, the example is correct. It is an exception to the rule of when we use "they". I explained it in the lesson but let me explain it again: I was explaining what personal pronoun we use if we do not know if the person is male or female. So in the sentence "Ask your teacher." the speaker does not know if the teacher is a man or a woman. The teacher is singular. So in English there are 3 possible solutions: 1) “Ask your teacher. *He or she* will help.” 2) “Ask your teacher. He will help.” 3) “Ask your teacher. *They* will help.” I know it seems strange to say "they" when referring to a singular person, but this is the only situation that we do it - when we do not know if the person is male or female. I hope that clarifies the situation. Best wishes Andrew

It is also "nobody"
Example: We saw nobody at the cinema.
It replace persons but why i can not replace like
My mother hitt the door
I can not replace mother there with the subject pronouns
Yes you can. You can replace "my mother" with "she" (third person singular, feminine):
*She* hit the door.
Best wishes,

why ships are female? that confused me.
Nobody know the reply l don't know your nationality but in Brazil we also use to speak this way
