I just changed the sights on my XD9. I bought a cheap pusher off of Amazon after trying a hammer and punch. I couldn't get the front to budge with the hammer and punch.
LOL, I'm not laughing at you, but laughing with you!! That is a knows issue with XD's and M&P's!! Them sights are TIGHT!! I used a MGW Pro Sight Pusher, it is NOT cheap, but I use it a lot!! You can't use a cheap pusher for these!! Remember, XD Sights push to the Left, when you're looking at the slide from behind!!
@yrsued I was able to use a cheap sight pusher to get them changed out. Yes, I went from right to left to remove and left to right to install. When I was pounding on the front sight I went from both directions and it didn't budge. What is your trigger pull on your XD with your replacement parts? I started looking into new parts just recently. Wondering what kind of trigger pull I can get with upgrades.
@@mikelarue7750 At least you got them to work I don't want to post my Trigger Pull, but it is too low for EDC@@. I might send it back to bring it up to 5 Lbs, so, it's MUCH less than 5 Lbs You can send your pistol to Springer and they can Custom Install your Kit to your specs!!

I love this pistol and tried to find one around here but had to settle for the XM 3.8 OSP .45 acp Compact after I pulled my Sig 320 off .45 off layaway. I really wanted the Modular concept but finding a .45 acp Modular is harder than finding a Patriot in Washington , DC. This pushed me towards Springfield Arms and after putting a few ranges through it yesterday, I am pleased. Really enjoy your pistol and that style of EXD. I really wanted the 4inch but that 3.8 is more in line with my Glock 30S that I am carrying now. Love those colors and the fact that you did some of your work. I thought the sites would need replacing but after yesterday, I see no need to change them. Great Video
I don't own Springfield XD, but one of their clones... I have a Tisas PX9 Gen3 and I have to confirm all these parts WILL fit the PX9, even the Springer Comp fits and works as it should! Nice review, I frequent C2 Tactical in Tempe(Member), never been to Scottsdale location... will def have to stop by and maybe share some info👍🏽

I recommend you switch out the striker retainer pin immediately. Their factory pins are so weak that you shouldnt dry fire them unless stripping. Now I dry fire all the time and the pin is tough as nails.
I dunno why the XD gets so much crap. My .45 is smooth as butter, accurate enough, and eats everything. My only gripes are the gross trigger and the fact that it feels really off balance as it runs low on ammo due to the frame.
The Springfield XD-40 is by far the best handgun I've ever fired. The trigger is incredible! Way better than Glocks trigger! The gun is highly accurate. I work in the law enforcement field & we qualify twice yearly. Generally some of us bring our own firearms to shoot afterwards. I still haven't found a better handgun than the Springfield XD-40.
I've got a Springfield XD 45 ACP I've had for 11-12 years that I've only swapped the sights out and trigger. I'm thinking about getting a threaded match grade barrel, some work done on the slide, and either stippling or grip tape.
Great vid, and some of those upgrades are in my list, but the best mod for my .45acp Springfield XD pistols (all five of them), are 25 round magazines…… git sum!
Yes the sights are extremely tight on the xd. I live in salem oregon. Bend is a couple hour drive in good weather because you have to go over a mountain range. Lol didbnot know springer was in bend.

Wow, My new XD 45acp tactical was just delivered to my FFL. It seems like I now need to spend a bundle to replace all the crappy parts that come with the gun, even the magazines!
Parts are NOT crappy, I run a 100% Stock XD too, does it feel as nice as this one? NO!!! I did this build to show what's available, you don't have to do ALL mods, but some. The Mags are PERFECT, I didn't change the mags, just the base pads. I LOVE Springer parts, yes, it makes your pistol better, but stock, the pistol is NOT crap!!
Well, it wasn't cheap, but I happen to have most parts, I just had them installed!! This is more for competition than for anything else.. The pistol is PERFECT just as it comes out of the box, I did this because I could.

The California XD comes in the big plastic case with 2-10 round magazines (sometimes run special and give you up to 5 magazines) from $550 to $650, depending on where you buy it. Our 2 main choices in polymer plastic strikers are Glock gen 3 or original XD. The .40 is popular in California, because of the 10-round limit. I have my XD-40 loaded up with 10+1 of quality defensive ammo.

In '06, I sent my XD40 Service to Springer Precision for a Grip Chop. They did a good job and I used it for many years as my main CC weapon. Allowing me to use the sub-compact magazines. BUT, I'll never use them again- because they added a notch the size of my thumbnail to the forestrap of the grip. I didn't ask for it, and I damn sure didn't want it! It looked really stupid with those shiny magazines, and it forced me to add a grip sleeve which further bulked-up the grip . Springer Precision - Never again.
Well, you are about 17 years too late for a warranty call aren't you?? I don't know the particulars of your issue, but before I get ANY work done, I ask questions and I make sure I know what I'm getting and the provider of services knows what I want BEFORE sending anything to get work done!!

@@yrsued well I'm shooting as if I'm leaning on a 🚗 or bench, it would be a challenge just standing. But I tested with a 10 by 10 square at burro canyon with shots not too far apart at 5 rnd a mag of ten cap, (CA😒) and the pistol course only goes to about 100 meters range.

My XD-9 subcompact I don’t like how it shoots. My XD-40 4” I love. Not sure what it is but maybe I need more rounds through it?

Only thing really needed the slide release is stiff, and the trigger is firmer than I'd like for a pistol.

Springfield basically rips off the California buyer, because their only competition in California for the Polymer Plastic Strikers is the Glock gen 3.
