I like that this movie treated this whole Kaiju very serious and mysterious compared to the Godzilla: King of The Monsters
since this is first godzilla movies from legendary ....ofc they make it looks like mysterious, if they make KoTM and GvK look like this it will be awkward

The lighting and seriousness gave it more a realistic approach to it that's why for me, I love this movie since it feels like the monsters are real.

The only Godzilla movie to feel real was 2014, but sadly they didn't give the audience enough of Godzilla, so now they don't care for a great realistic story they just want "monsters fighting".
@@AceGoodheart I don't think you realize this but THAT IS what the monster verse is supposed to be about. Monsters fighting and that's how Godzilla has always been. This movie was decent but Godzilla could be replaced with any other monster and it would still be the same movie. Also, Godzilla has never been about being realistic they are sticking to the roots of how the old Godzilla movies were which they supposed to.

absolutely love the dark theme and cold tone of this movie. this movie also has a perfect balance of story and action, it is also perfectly paced. definitely the BEST godzilla movie.

This is honestly the only one where the human story is as appealing as the monsters. The others have great action and visuals but the human acting is on par with those cheesy sci Fi movies like anaconda vs. lake placid lol
Not really appealing. The MC is a piece of wood, and the best characters either died halfway through the film or rarely appears at all.
That’s what I’m saying. Sure they’re not exactly fleshed out but I liked them enough and they Weren’t annoying. Hated the cast of KOTM they were so incredibly annoying. Made me miss Bryan Cranston and his son so much.
I agree, and Kong was okay. But Godzilla king of the monsters was awful with the human drama though. I hope Godzilla vs kong is better

I haven’t watched GvK yet, but I feel like KOTM suffers from what the MCU also often suffered from: killing off potentially awesome overarching threats, far too soon. I understand these are feature films, and have to be made a complete story for each film, but c’mon, it’s annoying to see all of these awesome monsters only having relevance for, like, 1 movie.
On the note that KOTM was too “silly”, or the humans too “annoying”, I honestly don’t understand. Sure, it wasn’t as dark as the first movie, but if it were it wouldn’t facilitate what the movie was about. The first movie showed the horrors of the first time these monsters came into the public eye since many years ago, and the destruction and chaos they spread, until Godzilla was able to bring an end to the MUTOs’ plan for creation of a swarm of new blood, that would plunge the world into chaos. KOTM was the aftermath, when these creatures were no longer a mysterious, looming possibility, but very real parts of the world, as well as the awakening of even more creatures from the time of the ancients, the coming of a new era.
I honestly really liked the human characters and their writing. Sure, some were a bit lacking in the writing department, the daughter especially...but they were still likeable. They felt real. The Dad’s vehement attitude towards the Kaiju, due to his son’s sad demise thanks to their destruction, felt real. The mother’s desperate and half-crazy plan to bring a “new order” to the world through the Kaiju (an order she only half understood), felt real. The terrorists she teamed up with (who’s main guy was lacking in depth, which I hope they amend in later movies), felt like a real enemy, that would continue to haunt the storyline for a while. The scene with the main Monarch guy (curses, what was his name!?!?) approaching and touching Godzilla, the very being he’d sought after and respected for so many long years, which he was now going to help to stand back up again, sacrificing himself to do so....it was a very beautiful scene, and had a lot of heart. In all honesty, I felt more of a connection to these characters than I did for most of the Star Wars Sequel characters, especially in Rise of SkyWalker....
@@JimBobJoeB0b There not the worst human characters ever in the Godzilla franchise. Because Half-developed characters seem to be a thing with the Toho films. We can at least agree that every Kenny is the real bottom of the Barrel when it comes to human characters.

Still remember how hyped this trailer made me for the movie. One of the best trailers I have ever seen.
I like the old trailers, it's more immersive, and it gave me chills, rather than the new gvk, bunch of loud music! Just make me wanted to vibe rather than feel XD

Godzilla 2014 was introducing Godzilla with mystery and pure badass.... they hyped my boy up for most the movie and when he finally appeared there was GREAT fight scenes
and yet again the fans f***ed it all up.. the way things were going in this one was far better than the last two
I love how grounded this movie is showing Godzilla from civilians perspective and it doesn’t go overboard with sci-fi like all the other monster-verse movies so far.
First reveal of *GODZILLA* still gives me chills.
The scene where the soldiers did the HALO jump was so chilling. When i watched that part when i was a kid my eyes were so mesmerize and the music during that part was amazing.

Aaron’s character isn’t bland. He’s a soldier for crying out loud! You don’t expect a bright colorful personality

This film had some really great sound design.
This movie made the kaiju threat feel real. Their size and destruction was insane. Whereas the newer movies made it seem like another day at the zoo. There is no awe factor in Godzilla vs Kong sadly.

I much prefer the dark/scary feel to this movie over what the new movies are doing. As the movies progressed they've become more and more sci-fi, to the point where Godzilla 2014 and GvK feel like they take place in two different universes.

fast forward to the 3rd movie since he died and we now have flying gravity-defying cars and mechs.

Idk why but going into this I completely forgot about his atomic breathe. And the first time we see and hear his tail start powering up gave me chills!
So much better than in GvK where he just shoots it for fun. I miss 2014. I really wish legendary would have kept it serious.

IMO the best of the monster verse movies. Gareth Edward's created a "what would it be like" if Godzilla lived in today's world. He's clearly a massive Zilla fan.

The first and the best of the Monsterverse imho. Despite Godzilla's short screen time, it had the most believable storyline, and it was easiest to suspend your disbelief.

here is the nostalgia, I still remember when I first saw the monsterverse godzilla design and that was so spectacular..
The only monster cinematic universe movie that felt like it was about a big scary monster.
This Godzilla movie HAD to have this tone and gain the respect to give us the sequels we have and do classic Godzilla justice
This and GvK had the most consistent tones. This I love for the gritty and dangerous aura they gave the kaijus/titans, GvK for the satisfying fight scenes.
Such a well done movie. I didn't know anything about it when i watched it for the first time. It brought Godzilla to my life. Thank you.
