john oliver is a national trusure idk how we got you from the brits but im so glad we did
It was all part of an apologetic trade deal that we deeply regret. As a apology for sending our rubbish (human trash) Piers Morgan and Simon Cowell we send over John and Hugh Laurie to say sorry. It feels like too much but also at the same time, just not enough.
He makes it seem he wasn’t very well liked in Britain 😂
@@Rowsy91 not that he wasn’t well liked, more that he wasn’t as well known. Over here we have so many great comedians that not many find themselves in the spotlight with their own program like John does now. John was one of the comedians on Mock the week but it’s a panel show with 6 other comedians mostly on rotation and a comedian host. By moving to the US he stands out more with his British humour, style and let’s face it, accent.
Can you imagine what the US could accomplish socially if corporations paid their full taxes?
They need their socialism while the permanent rotating underclass gets increasingly weak bootstraps.
And all of the billionares owning those companies
Or if they aren’t gonna accomplish anything anyways let the people keep their money less taxes for everyone
Hows your US accent John? BIG Missed opportunity not having you play Mnuchin on SNL 😅😂
He would'nt have time. He works all week to make the show.
IF I'M NOT ENTERTAINED?............................................. I WANT THIS SHOW ALL WEEK !!!!!!!!!!!!!! FOR EVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?!
Steven Mnuchin looks like a Terminator designed to do Skynet's taxes
My name is Anthony, and my birthday is on tax day, and I feel like I've just been personally attacked by John Oliver.
You do exist!
Outstanding Ari Melber compilation, thanks John
The weird thing is that Cardi B legitimately has a much better grasp of economic policy than most US senators.
lol bit much
It's nice to hear my job title come up once in a while. Pipefitter.
you should not be proud of that. \m/
Aaaaah, the origin of Croliver bromance 😂
I like Cardi's attitude about it. Taxes are essential to the well-being of ourselves and our economy. And you should take the time to find out what happens to that money and make note of the things you like and don't like and what you are using and what you aren't using.
I'm responsible for reporting and getting fixed 4 potholes this year in my neighborhood. Did you know your state has a pothole number and they have a limited time to fix that hole ONLY after someone reports it? Did you know your taxes pay for that? And that's just one of many things you can demand. Did you know you can demand they clean your local park? There's a number for that too. GET INVOLVED! You can also call the help desk for police to secure neighborhood events or businesses, the number is different for every state neighborhood. You would be surprised how much being annoying to the government can turn a neighborhood around. AND YOU ARE PAYING FOR IT! USE IT!
I would Like to thank everyone who takes the time. To listen, to learn, to try to understand, to possibly change your point of view. Even just may be able to understand the other side. Let's stop being against everything. Let's spend our time finding things we can agree on, Like never having to hear the Words "Government Shutdown" again.
You talking about Jay-Z’s First Album ??
corporations are evil!
This was funny asusual but I feel like they missed an opportunity to explain WHY corporations should pay taxes, since the main argument I hear against this is that corporations don't pay taxes, the consumers do when they buy their products.
Even funnier is what Russell Crowe did with the money as a follow up from this
He’s awesome love Russell 😂
How do the HBO accountants still questions these?
Is that blockbuster still there? I hope so
Unfortunately, it closed in July 2018. However, John's ridiculous auction purchases* still have a home: the single Blockbuster remaining, not just in the US, but in the entire world, located in Bend, Oregon.
*excluding the jockstrap. It was missing when the Bend store received the items and John has stated he doesn't know where it went.
@@AceiestArtist this guy lores
@@AceiestArtist John Oliver got the jockstrap back and used it in S5 E30 lol
Brilliant!
There were blockbusters when Trump was president!? Holy hell!
So im not the only one who cringes and changes the video when a middle-aged white guy tries quoting monotone rap lyrics ??
Probably.
I don't know how this works, but I know that the US is interested to keep the dollar as an accepted currency. Stuff like getting people in other countries to rate their prices in dollars, stuff like that. If the corporations bring the money back, I suppose the dollar will no longer be that well accepted.
You kinda look like Ari, John! :)
Not loving the monetization ads. They pop in at the worst possible moments. But, you do you Mr Oliver
Cry more
@@DakotaTuttle-k3x no one understands your comment but since I'm in the hospital and bored out of my skull until discharged I'll ask what does this even mean
