This is a rare example of someone claiming Gaster will be the villain while actually taking into account that he is, above all else, a scientist. That to him its all part of the grand experiment. I do like the idea that he embodies the idea of "the game is just a game", though. The thematic implications of that are delicious.
You are the ONLY person I have ever seen make speculations about Gaster's plan that feel both logical AND in-line with Toby Fox's writing style. I would be very surprised if your predictions weren't at least close to what ends up happening. Very well done.
It's now ingrained in my brain that one day while Gaster was trying to figure out how to break the barrier he was just like, "Fuck it, I can't break this damn barrier! I'm just gonna head to another universe without one!" I also just realized while watching further into the video that the Mystery Man sprite unironically looks weirdly similar to the Deltarune symbol (just minus the wings).
crack theory: wd gaster stands for "weird dog" gaster bc he's annoying dog's brother. where annoying dog stands for all that is canon, weird dog is the hidden, obscure and "non-canonical". you know how you see a dog any time you get an error in undertale, deltarune, or 404 on the websites? its actually wd gaster, not annoying dog. the powerful artifact in undertale with no use? gaster may have took it, not annoying dog. the missing "special attack" from papyrus? you guessed it, gaster. a second game called deltarune? gaster.
i could ACTUALLY see it being canon and that thought terrifies me. "*weird* dog" also ties nicely to *weird* route which goal is to break the game, change the course of the plot and so on.

"toby wants us to see it as a living world" I think there is some sparse evidence given to us on this with the secret bosses. the Shadow Crystals come back on any save, which seems to me actually less like a matter of convenience than potentially a bit of worldbuilding that sets the crystals outside the individual saves. meanwhile, the shadow mantle is missing, but Seam brings it up as if fully expecting they would be able to give it to you and there was no reason for it to be missing. almost as if you are supposed to enter your save at that point after putting the shadow mantle back into the world somewhere else. things like the "thrash machine" carrying over are left as hints to us that whatever we do is going to affect other chapters or possibly all the saves if this turns out to be true it would be very clever design because we have already been shown a lot of imagery of the Dark Worlds forming based on how the rooms of inanimate objects were arranged, and even given hints that King may have been "put into power" through somebody rearranging the room. it may be that Deltarune is to be played like it's one big room of stuff and the only choice we can make that matters is to mess with the room and observe how the world is different and the seemingly-fixed story is different
It'd be really funny if the Annoying Dog was actually multiple fragments of Gaster sent to collect various objects, both for science purposes and musical purposes. Is this a actual theory? No, if that's actually correct then I will question my sanity. Edit: One more serious prediction: If we ever visit the depths, it would be cool to have all the enemies be the discarded vessels, but mutated in an attempt to create their own sense of self.
I mean... to be fair... the Annoying Dog was in the Computer Lab in Chapter 1 and in the Dark World in Chapter 2. AND he appears in the same room as the Egg Room in Chapter 2 but only once... Just kidding there's no way that's real, but it'd be funny as hell The idea for the Depths is very cool as well! My personal belief is that it will hold all the things "scrapped" from development or otherwise hidden from us (i.e. FUN value things like Happy Town, Meat Factory, or more hidden stuff like Everyman)
My theory is that every single darkner is a piece of gaster in some way. Ralsei is inscentivising the pacifist route because it results in more pieces arriving in castle town which results in a more complete and reunited Gaster. This might result in a "better ending" if you chose to exclusively fight all enemies, a sort of inversion of undertale where you got punished for that.

Thank you for telling me! Though it is quite interesting, I still find it hard to believe it is Gaster changing the tone of his voice. First of all, while Spamton was also able to use (non-spam text) lowercase while usually using uppercase, it was ONLY after defeating his NEO fight, where it seems he reclaimed his sanity, he couldn't do it anywhere else. Since Gaster is shown speaking ONLY in uppercase, I doubt he can do it on a whim Secondly, it is already estabilished on Twitter that we and him are working together, I spoke about this in the video at the beginning. Why would he invite us to play the game, make a character, and rub it in our face that we can't play that character, just to still let us play? My only thought is that Kris is somehow crucial in Gaster's plan, but even then, there is no reason for him to take the Vessel away that we created together.
@@KiwimoraArt I completely agree with these points. If he's just casually able to speak in lower case, why doesn't he do it more often? Why does the sentence feel very different from what Gaster would usually say? If he was just gonna throw the vessel away, why have us make it? You'd think he'd be more direct rather than have us faff around and make a useless vessel. If it's purpose was to learn info about us, why not ask directly? Why go through a convaluted process? Just purely based on how he chooses his words, how he speaks, and how he "acts", I feel like Gaster wouldn't discard the vessel without good reason. Either we have no good answer to all these questions, and toby does have this magically great answer to all, or it's someone else discarding our vessel.
AKJLJKJAKJ "dodaj tekst tutaj" killed me, that was so unexpected, I thought something was wrong with my laptop because for a moment I thought it was in Croatian. Anyway, I really like your observation skills, this video is really good and I do believe there might be a lot of credence in it.
I always wonder if there is a second Gaster, the Gaster from Deltarunes world. It is not confirmed they exist, but the bigger questions are: if they exist, what does that imply for the world? If they don't, what does that imply? And I think that would be an interesting question to see tackled. Regardless, great video as always!
Thank you! It's nice to see you commenting again. That is a very interesting question to ask. Since most UNDERTALE characters like Toriel or Sans have their counterparts with different lives, Gaster can too. If he does indeed exist as a normal person in DELTARUNE's world, I actually believe this counterpart may be dead, like the Amalgamates or Gerson, and since he is presumably connected to Sans and Papyrus who moved in to Hometown, he may have no correlation to Hometown whatsoever. If Sans and/or Papyrus interact with DELTARUNE's Gaster, they would be in for a shock then, that would be interesting. Another interesting scenario would be if DELTARUNE world's Gaster (Another Him) would work together with (a fragment of) UNDERTALE world's Gaster (Him), but I don't think DELTARUNE'S Gaster would agree to do the Roaring like UNDERTALE's Gaster would want (according to my theory.) What do you think?
@@KiwimoraArt I feel there's potential for 3 possible ways Toby could take it, if there is a second one. 1 - Both Gasters are working together. This one is somewhat uninteresting and I'm not too invested in it, but if anyone can make it interesting, it's Toby. Maybe one is a Knight and the other is pulling strings, or DR Gaster is working to rebuild UT Gaster's body if he just has a piece. 2 - The Gasters are against each other. Maybe one is trying to cause the Roaring and the other is working to for The Angel (or is The Angel, but I doubt it). Maybe one represents Light and the other Dark, like Mystery Man's sprite having 2 faces if you turn it upside down. 3 - DR Gaster or UT gaster has no idea the other exists, or both are unaware. I don't know how this'll work in the story, but maybe it doesn't need to. Maybe the other gaster can be completely just a side character, while the other is an antagonist. Maybe we go in the Bunker and its just, DR Gaster's lab and he's just kinda chill. I'd be disappointed if it was, but I can see it being a possibility. I'm much more interested if they are against each other, but we'll see in the end. If he doesn't exist, then perhaps he is just like Gerson then. We'll see
@@turtleisa5667 Yeah, I'm quite interested if the question of 2 Gasters will be explored. What I'm saying here is if that question will be answered then it'll DEFINITELY be something interesting, Toby never disappoints.
