"Hey guys, hey guys, hey guys... it's a live stream!" Hahaha! He was so proud of himself, love it. I've never been to Finland, but it's def on our bucketlist! And I love to see how many vegan foods there are too! Looks like you had a great time
I live in Helsinki and it is so cool to see you and Jens visiting places which are familiar for me and other Finns 😍 I study Environmental and Resource Economics at University of Helsinki so it is interesting to see how environmentally friendly Helsinki actually is
Your channel is brilliant!!!! Combining your highly research-based and informative topics on sustainability with travel..... while simultaneously promoting local businesses/people who are doing good work?!?!? Just brilliant.
My mother is from Finland, so we used to go there every summer when I was a child, its such a beautiful, quiet country. You can camp with a tent in Nuuksio park also, you just have to walk a bit with your camping gear from the parking space.
I just started watching this, but the bell is about to ring to end lunch (high school sewing teacher from 🇨🇦 here). This is such a great video so far, and I cannot wait to watch the rest of it after school. I don’t leisiure fly any more, so I may never get to Europe and Scandanavia. It is so awesome to see Finland through the eyes of a like-minded person such as you, Gittemary. I appreciate the conscious way in which you travel and live life. 🌎💦Ⓜ️ary🪀
you never know what life will bring, so you can't say never.. Personally, I hope that one day you will be able to travel again. Maybe not by plane, but if by ship? It would be wonderful if you could get to know Europe and especially my home country Finland, its culture, food, nature, etc.
I've been meaning to eat at Nolla for so long, have to make a trip downtown to do it finally. Also, I love seeing all my fellow Finns in the comments ✨ Glad you enjoyed my home town! 🌻
Such a lovely vid! I'm so happy you enjoyed Helsinki and Nuuksio. Helsinki is one of the best places in the world, in my humble opinion, haha. It's so funny to see my home in another perspective..! Especially you two hyping those ROCKS was refreshing and hilarious at the same time. :D :D It's too easy to take things for granted. Our nature is amazing, and we need to be passionate about preserving and protecting it. I hope you get to travel Finland in the summertime, it's just divine, especially the coastal cities, like Turku, Porvoo and Rauma. By the way, the best thrift stores in Helsinki are located outside the immediate city center. That Fida @ Iso-Roba is very good, though. Yay!
Ohh yes, as a Finn it's too easy to take thing for granted as they are so normal and everyday for us. But I wanna thank Gittemary for reminding that we truly live in a wonderful and beautiful country! And actually I am from Rauma so I can also recommend visiting there! Rauma is known for it's fascinating harbor/sailor history and lace (yes we have a whole week called Pitsiviikko aka Lace Week and Mustan Pitsin Yö aka the Night of Black Lace) and Vanha Rauma/Old Rauma is one of the Unesco World Heritage Sites. All in all Rauma is a charming little city definitely worth visiting.
Thank you for sharing this lovely experience with us 🖤 I'm from Austria and visited Helsinki with my husband about 4 years ago and we felt in love with this beautiful city. We really want to visit Helsinki as soon as possible again - you showed really interesting places we didn't know about, so thank you for showing such lovely possibilities 😍
Such an inspiring video! I am now checking out no-fly routes to Helsinki from Cologne! Have you ever thought of creating an interactive map with all the places you have been to, with your recommendations and contact details for restaurants etc? I would certainly contribute to a fundraiser for this so you could hire someone to implement that for you.
Such a good timing for that video! I’m going to visit my friends again in Helsinki/ vaasa for the first time in 3 years. We are gonna spend the first week of January together and I’ll be in Helsinki for one day and I can’t wait to be there again. Just started watching your video but hoping for nice tips to do when I’m there! X
Loved the video, Gittemary! ♥ It's always fun to see you and Jens together, being silly and having a great time! ♥♥ Love the architecture in Finland, the rounded buildings. Such a cozy vibe! I'm not a foodie, but it was lovely to see you enjoy your meals so much. :) I was surprised to hear you say you are a little bit picky eater, as I have watched you eat so many different foods! I AM a picky eater and I eat the same old things every day. (I also hate to cook, so that doesn't help. LOL) Thank you for sharing your trip with us. I think these are my favourite videos. ♥
That looks so fun!!! The relatability of off the charts (except the dining experiences lol but living vicariously there) and super nice to see you two having a fun getaway!
I live in Finland and I think you really would enjoy small village called: Teijo they have some amazing restourants and hotels and the national park is absolutely one of the best I have been to. Also I think you would enjoy the vibe of Turku also. Also to note: you can go walk in almost any forest if you so choose. You can't light a fire or disturbe the peoples yards but whe have every mans rights that give us permission to collect berries and mushrooms (never ask where someone picks their mushrooms. I have had people tell in their wills where the best places are) also you can just camp. Also sauna is a must. Dip in a lake and sauna even in mid winter is heavenly. It was also funny seeing you in a regular supermarket.... I kinda laughed because I just bought the same salmiakki you did. It's the best. Hope you enjoied. ps. live stream had me howling with laughter.
Can we get an updated haircare routine? Your locks are flowing! Just want to know if you still mostly finger pick your tangles and use the brush near the roots like in your videos with shorter hair.
Next time you should go outside the Ring 3 (Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa area) and it'll be a whole new experience. Try West Coast, East or Lappland. By the way, I haven't been in Helsinki for almost three years now because of the global panini. It's the capital so it's also the most dangerous panini area. I live in Carelia (Eastern Finland).
I live in America. While I love my country I am sad to sad that at least in my area, vegan opt yang sustainable anything are hard to come by. I looked at the Happy Cow site ( thank you for that) and 3 vegan restaurants in 100 miles. A lot of places that have veg options but usually they mean sides. Also, not generally sustainable. 🙁 I love this video because it proves it is just location specific.
Yes, I live in the US too (Wisconsin) and it can definitely be a struggle, especially if you live not near a metropolitan area. There are small pockets of sustainably minded areas, but overall it doesn’t feel like something a lot of people are thinking about. Especially in regards to veganism, it is common practice to make fun of or bash on vegans. However, I do have some hope as every summer my dad and I go on a father/ daughter trip to a different place in WI and each year in recent years it seems like I can find some cool, sustainable restaurant even in these small, middle-of-nowhere areas.
Thanks so much for this video, I now want to go to Helsinki and try the restaurants you’ve been to! Would you make a similar video about Stockholm or the city where you live? Live as if you were a tourist for a weekend or so 😀 that would be fantastic! I really like doing that where I live.
One place my bf and I would go often even tho it was only 3 hrs away from us at the time was pismo, Ca it’s a tiny beach town and we just fell in love with it. We used to go the weekend or a couple weekends before our finals to like just destress before that stressful time. We now live about 6 hrs away and haven’t made it back quite yet. I hope to find more special places like that near me tho. I think it’s harder because I moved to a city where ppl vacation (San Diego) so I don’t think about leaving as often haha
You've been quite unlucky with the weather (we had a few sunny days just before you came), so sorry for that! To be honest, from mid-October till the beginning of December the weather tends to be quite miserable. Next time come in January/February for the winter wonderland ❄or in June for mid-summer. By the way, what's the name of that vegan bakery? I live in Espoo and haven't checked Nuuksio yet because I heard there are snakes and I'm terrified... 😅 Thanks for this video!!
You should visit the Baltic states at some point! I can only speak of Riga in Latvia, which has multiple amazing fully vegan restaurants (and even a zero waste cafe!), but all 3 of the countries could easily be combined in one great trip and you could easily travel in between by taking buses (including overnight)
Haha she is alarmed indifferent towards us being away, low key, she said hello is when we picked her up for like 2 secs, then she went straight to her food bowl #queen 😂👍
Looks amazing! Definitely one of the places I want to visit when I'm no longer on a student budget haha :) Is there a train all the way from Denmark to Helsinki?
I think that, if you don't fly, you take the train to Stockholm or Tallinn and then the ferry to Helsinki. Only by train would mean you have to round the Gulf of Bothnia or travel through the Baltics and Russia.
Hey, publishing that food galore just after European lunchtime should be illegal. Like, I'm hungry again. (BTW: ad before video was about "real leather for bespoke shoes". Algorithm, you're doing it wrong)
"I'm suuuper full... But they have PIE" That must be the most relatable sentence I've heard in a while! 😂
This line caught my attention too… so real… but it also made me grin too 😋
"Hey guys, hey guys, hey guys... it's a live stream!" Hahaha! He was so proud of himself, love it.
I've never been to Finland, but it's def on our bucketlist! And I love to see how many vegan foods there are too!
Looks like you had a great time
As a Finnish person, I really like the way, you are exploring Helsinki and what is has to offer. Hope u had a great time and will return here some day
Thank you so much for this video❤ it's everything that we are looking for in a city
Helsinki looks awesome! and Jens is hillarious :)))
Finland is my dream place to visit 😊 such a beautiful peaceful country

I LAUGHED SO MUCH HAHAHHAHA

You found treasure!!!! Jens is treasure
As a finnish person this was such a lovely vid, hopefully you will be back!!
Welcome back! Also to other places in Finland! ❤️❤️
I'm so glad you enjoyed it here! Also sorry Gittemary, but Jens took the best joke of the video with the amazing 10:09 😂

This is amazing, where can I find the 1st Vegan food place in Helsinki?
I clicked on this so fast 🤩🤩 hope you enjoyed my hometown 🥰

Ooh, nice that you visited Finland 🥰 Greetings from Tampere - maybe this city is your next destination.
You all might be my favorite couple
LOVING THE SANTA FASHION WEEK LOOK! this video was so cool definitely want to visit in the future!
Loved the vid, thanks. You should come to Brighton, a coastal city in the UK - it's our 'vegan food capital'
