@@TheCosmosAwaits No it isn't. Soldier Boy is actually fun to watch. Homelander was amazing in season 1, and after a while, he just turned into a brainless psychopath. In season 1, he felt unbeatable because he looked like super intelligent, way beyond just being powerful.

I've heard this same line from other parents upset at their kids.
Parents that are upset that their child acts out even when they have things better than their parents did at that age.
I think homelander meant he tried his best to provide what he can’t get during his childhood, like love and freedom. He didn’t want Ryan to grow up as miserable as he is.

I have to say i liked homelander even more in the first seasons. Because of his growing mental instability, he has become more and more predictable. He wasnt predictable at all in the first seasons. And this was the scariest part about him.
Nah this is him at his best I think. You do make a point, but he’s literally in it all for himself now. Not even those that he “likes” or are most loyal to him are safe.
