Love this type of content. Very well thought out and executed! Try sticking your notes (prompts) directly next to the camera 😉. Keep up the excellent content.

Been thinking about picking up Warhammer again after a 10 year absence and this is by far the most succinct and clear articulation of the latest rules. So thank you sir!!

Of all the new how to play videos to be released this week, by far this is the best one I've watched and will be my go to for sharing with friends new to the game. Well done, and thanks for all you guys do!

So heartening to hear this! What stood out in our video that you felt made it more accessible and enjoyable? Would love to make sure we replicate that in our others.

@@ArtofWar40k Many things, so here goes...
Cadence: The information was delivered with clear annunciation and tempo. Never did I have to rewind because I didn't hear and absorb every word. This goes hand in hand with the next point...
Overlays: You used FULL screen illustrations and animations that made this easy to see on mobile. You didn't pop up a rule or clip of text in the corner for a few seconds. When I wanted to read the rule for movement during the fight phase I didn't have to chase the image since it was shown a long time with the voice over.
Animations/Overlays: The simple animations used keep the focus on the model and action it's performing. The check and X helps very clearly show model eligibility. Less distraction like in battle reports or other videos that seem more interested in showing off their studio set and faces than the actual gameplay. I will say the one channel that did this best in 9th edition was TacticalTortise because he voiced over table top simulator to demonstrate rules and it was extremely effective.
Script: It was obvious the prompts were being read, but that didn't matter because what was said was to the point, minimized info overload point to point, and covered the essentials without over-explaining. There's always more to expand on and what ifs, but you saved those for other videos.
Duration: I can easily get a friend to watch a 20 minute video vs a whole hour and knowing they'd be overwhelmed and forget half of it. This video will be easy to find the info needed for reference later and ultimately save time.
      I hope that helps!

This is brilliant! We really put a lot of time into making sure the aspects you mentioned were prioritized and to see you so clearly lay them out point for point is immensely gratifying. Thank you, so glad you enjoyed it!

Making these are very involved and for sure needing to re-record VO afterwards has it's downsides, but at 12:08 I love when Richard's sub-conscious starts to chime in with rules

1- God Tier thumbnail: 2- After John Lennon casually soloing about half of the faction previews (including a flu-game performance in one of them), great to see Siegler now hard carrying AOW through the core rules

    Question:
Can you make a charge move against a model that's at 12.5 inches distance, because engagement range is 1 inch, which would mean if you roll a 12, you'll still end-up in engagement range.

    • @ArtofWar40k
      @ArtofWar40k  ปีที่แล้ว

You can only declare units within 12" for charges, but you could in theory pile in and attack something further than 12" from where you began your charge

Based on the new rules for 10th Edition, do you think Wellington was wise to construct the Lines of Torres Vedras, or should he have liberated more of Portugal, Spain, and Ultramar by going on the offensive against Masséna?

Psmiddy, I think the chart they use is that they often try and keep certain armies strong, and certain ones not so strong. High skill, high movement armies that are not easy to play are rewarded by being strong when used properly, as the average player cannot use them like this. For example, the eldar factions.
Armies that have a higher skill floor however, are punished at the higher level, such as DG and custodes (well, usually at least).
Armies are intended to be roughly similar, but these factions are intended to be at different strengths I think, particularly because armies like eldar have more hard counters than DG. That is also why knights is often strong despite being a statcheck army.

When rolling a "d3", if the result is greater than 3, subtract 3. This way, half the sides show true, rather than only one. That's 200% more better!

  • @Roeland666

Why would any DG player want to play 10th after last night? Off camera dice rolls? semi-afk demon player still wins game by turn 4 after doing nothing the first 2 turns. BLT doing nothing all game long. At this point 1 page rules looks like a more attractive alternative.
