Good video. Im thinking of join your classes. My dream is to transition from sim racing to car racing. After getting diagnosed with cancer last year I've really pushed myself towards that goal.
Excellent lesson. I once saw footage of Michael Schumacher as a driving exhibition event and the track had a very tight 180 degree hairpin. The cameraman picked up on the fact that before even entering the corner, Michael's head was LITERALLY turned 90 degrees, almost poking outside of the car window, looking at the corner EXIT!!! Even the commentators were blown away, it was like he didn't even care where the car was NOW because in his mind he already knew where it was going to be. Truly amazing. Great job, we really appreciate the lessons from a PRO like yourself.
These courses work. 😢 on Iracing less than a month. Took MRC and joined his academy. The community is great, pit parties are fun. After practicing his corner entry challenge in the academy I found 3 seconds on Virginia North in 2 cars..it is definitely worth it and I haven't had a coaching session yet..❤❤
“The ONLY thing we worked on was his vision, not braking or car control etc just his vision… while you watch write down what you think he really needs to improve” 😅 Do I get a prize for saying “vision”? Glad to see another one of these! Out of all your videos, I think these ones have helped the most! I know we all got individual areas we need to work on, but two of these fly on the wall sessions have broke me through two fairly significant plateaus!
Suelio ! It's been long since you talked about formula cars. I understand the majority of the people like the GT cars and what not, but there's a big part of your fanbase that's into formula cars, maybe post some of those too ! i'd be very interested myself :) Love the content keep it up bro !
@@SuellioAlmeida as a mainly formula driver that dabbles into GTs i'd LOOOOVE some formula action, youre videos are so helpful but i know they only help with my overall driving/racing and understanding of the tracks, not anything specific to formulas
Suellio, I have been reading your book and love it and I watch all of your videos, but this one is superb and I have learned more in this one video than usual. Like your student, I also do not have the forward vision and was missing apexes, etc. Thank you so much for sharing this one. I will endeavor to work on my forward vision in future.
b efore video : he looks 5 meteres ahead, and probably looks at apex. What he eshould do is look ahead like 100/200 meters (depending on context) and have apex only in periferal vision. Focusing on the road ahead gives you more information how yoou should drive
He kinda wasted his coaching money by not knowing the track. Sometimes these questions come up on reddit but if someone is so far off the ideal line it is hard to correct technique.
Yeah literally all it would take is him watching a 20 minute track guide so at least he'd know the line. It's almost like he didn't know the track at all.
Ohhh man that realy what i needed right now, thank you Mistakes: stearing too early, not using full track, meaby it's because of the fear of what is going next. Edited: so, after watching the video I can say that his mistakes are also incorrect prioritizing of the corners and wrong plan of what he is going to do.
The main issue I have with iracing is the lack of "looking into apex". I need my driver to look into the apex instead of whats right in front of him. I noticed I got faster when I started looking into the apex/turn. Therefor I think a VR would help people gain speed and be faster. Looking into the apex should be a thing. The moment your turn your wheel, your camera should shift into that direction.
How much are coaching lessons. I competed in the time attack for the racing prodigy Gr time attack and place 25th. But it took me like 350 attempts and I noticed the other drivers who were faster only took 20-40 tries max
Hi Suellio. Awesome video again🔥. How are you able to tell how much time you loose based on a given mistake made ? Example, not using all the track on exit. Do you have any system or way you calculate it? Knowing this can help me with analysing laps and having an idea where time is being lost and what I need to work on.
if the mistake you are talking about is not using all of the track, and the rest of the corner is done well, then one tire width off of the optimal line can be about a tenth of lap time lost. The faster the corner, the more costly it is to not be on the absolute edge of the track.
Hey Suellio, do you have a video on rain racing technique coming out? I remember you saying you were going to take notes on rain racing when it first launched and then make a video about it.
I'm conflicted about this. He's stuck in rookies at ~800 irating (and has been for the half year after this session). He clearly needs more fundamental help than looking further up the track - having a better perspective of what the car's doing is huge, but if you don't know what to do with that information and how to form that plan I'm not sure if this helps. I'm not sure how much the student really picked up "Oh I should be looking further ahead and positioning the car relative to that" vs just learning the line you taught him. I'm sure it's a very useful lesson to some people watching the video, but I don't know if it's necessarily the lesson that's most useful for him as a driver.
This doesn't really make sense. Vision is one of the most important fundamentals and you can't form and execute a good plan without it. Plus poor vision results in a poor line so if your vision is better the lines will automatically improve too. Other aspects of his driving are above 800ir level and it was the improved vision that tied it all together, hence the improvement.
I feel a good follow-up lesson here would be to see if he can apply the new techniques to a different track that he also doesn't know the line on (without Suellio telling him the line), to see if he can at least get better at making a plan without external input. There's only so much you can do in a one-hour session I suppose.
Also, I looked up his account as well, and I think it's hard to say if he progressed or not, considering he only has 8 race starts in "sports car" total (also only 3 in formula car, 1 in dirt, and 7 in the old "road" category before it was split; overall just a really low amount of races). With that little activity, it's not that strange that he's still in rookies.
Mannnn...... I want to start sim racing but the sim racing gears are very hard to find and expensive in my country. I am now racing with keyboard on free sims and roblox
@@richardlehoux you probably don't know but it's Myanmar, there is a civil war in our country and that's why it's not easy to buy and also people in my country barely knows about sim racing
My notes: - Not using all the track/ideal lines - Not loading the tires as constantly (possibly due to his lines) - Not knowing the corners well enough to plan the top two I'll give myself a pass on that :D
Hi Suellio, I'm a dedicated follower and have taken all your courses. I race rental karts and have a specific question about a 270cc 4-stroke single-speed kart with rear brakes: What's your take on trail braking versus threshold braking in this setup? I'm trying to optimize between maintaining high RPMs (given the single-speed limitation) and maximizing corner entry. With only rear brakes, I'm wondering if threshold braking would be safer and more effective than trail braking? What would you recommend for fastest lap times in this specific configuration?
In single speed karts you should sacrifice the entry for a better exit, instead of trail braking until almost the apex you should mostly threshold brake and accelerate much earlier than the apex to keep up the rpm, and the line should be more u shaped so you can keep speed through the corner to keep the rpm
It's called mouse movement mode. Ctrl+Z. If you go into a replay, hit Ctrl+F12 it brings up the camera controls. If you hit CONFIG at the bottom right, that's all the things you can do with the camera.
Hey Suellio, nice video. I have a question to you. At the moment, I am 0.9-1.0 second of to the bests. (In Porsche cup, GT3). But I don't know what I am doing wrong. I watched a lot of pros, and my steering is the same, track usage is perfect, and the braking is the same. Any advice?

Let me give you a rich advice guys , if you wanna learn to be a fast driver , you have got to know three things : first ,put a plan (whether it’s input or line) , for every corner way earlier even if it’s very bad “just do it” , second execute the plan , Third be aware of what you are doing (inputs or you next line target 🎯) , if your plan is bad ,probably you are gonna make a mistake , it’s okay ✅ just relax , if you were aware of your actions , you are gonna define the problem and then work hard to find the solution, and that takes a lot of time and effort. Just remember (as long as the racing or any game and simulator exists , you have a big chance to be the fastest and also win)
