Thanks so much for the discussion. Can't wait to read Charlie's book. Poor Jane! The thought of staying in a cottage near Chatsworth is amazing. You are so lucky. Please share the details when you can with us. I also think Bess is an amazing woman. Have also been reading about her Granddaughter the Lady Arbella lately. Would love to see Chatsworth and Hardwick!
What an interesting discussion on Jane Parker Boleyn. Once again I'm fascinated by another woman of the Tudor court that history has maligned without much evidence to support doing so. Over the years I've heard that she testified against Anne and George, saying that their relationship was "unduly familiar." Is there evidence that she testified? Her end was tragic and it appears that she wasn't mentally sound. The more I learn of her the more I'd like to know. For instance, there was a rumor that Henry VIII was romantically involved with a "Mistress Parker" while he was still married to Queen Catherine of Aragon. Kelly Hart, in her book _Mistresses of Henry VIII_, wonders if it might be Jane. She came to court roughly 1522 but didn't marry George Boleyn until 1524.
Great interview Thank you 🙏💜💜
