  • This is the first part of the Jungle Cruise in Adventureland in Disneyland being interpreted into American Sign Language (ASL). Unfortunately, it cuts off before our return to civilization, but the first part is wonderful! Recorded January 19th, 2013
Interpretation is a regular occurrence in the parks, with the interpreters appearing at various shows and attractions every Friday through Monday. On Friday and Sunday they can be found in Disney's California Adventure, and on Saturday and Monday they are in Disneyland park. For more information, try the Disneyland Interpreters Fanpage on Facebook: DisneylandASLInterpreters

It does, for the most part. Except for certain things such as the "ginger snaps" joke. Chris had to interpret directly as being "FRIENDLY CROCODILE GINGER. NOT TOUCH, GINGER BITES. TOUGH. ", or in English grammar, "This is a friendly crocodile, Ginger. Don't touch Ginger, she bites. She's tough." This finds the cookie pun lost in translation. Though directly following this, he uses the sign for "crumby" instead of "bad" when translating "that joke's a little crumby," for the sake of referring back to the cookie joke and possibly bringing some connection. Most of the other jokes hold through.
