What a beautiful chest!!! These older pieces are not often appreciated for what they are... I'm in my seventies and I have my grandmother's Lane cedar chest in my home. One of my favorite pieces... Just love watching your videos and don't mind nature's sounds in the background ... Authenticity...

i think we are cut from the same clothe ,i also bring home broken things off the curb and fix them , my husband thut i was nuts wen i traded in my small hatch back for a pick up truck lol, i did that becouse i was sick of having to leave things that would not fit in my car...its just so satisfying and i love it!!!!!

Use some wood filler on the lid, it'll make it sturdier
That's a great idea! I actually made a template of the rounded ends from the lid and cut it out of wood. I added that to the middle and its solid and works great.
