    Gvt of India must popularize this art to the indian masses like China did for kung fu.
    Let this art flourish all over India.

    This is from south India, I knew guys in my village that thought and practiced it.
    Unfortunately arts like this are fast disappearing as in india today if it doesnt make money no one is interested in learning it.
    The British did a good job of making us lose pride and interest in our traditional arts and culture.

    This is not about violence or winning a fight but about training the mind and making human beings. The mind left to drift by itself creates monsters, not human beings.

    Unforutnately, the kalari masters have a strict code of conduct and will not teach it by crossing the seas. I wish that could change.

    @MikeVarghese86 : This martial art is derived from the ancient Shastra Vidya (Knowledge of Weapons). A properly trained Shastra Vidya practitioner can easily kill with bare hands. Ancient kings who were trained in this art used to fight wild animals like tigers and lions with only a spear or sword.

      That's a blatant lie.
      Kalari is of Northern and Southern style. Northern style is weapon mastery while Southern is bare handed.
      Please watch Vinayan Gurukkal videos who teaches southern form of KALARIPAYATTU.

      Ur wrong Mr ....kalaripayattu was not practiced by the thiyyas until it was bought by lord parashurama ,a brahmin who came along with the other brahmins who resided in the banks of saraswati(present indus) migrated due to a tectonic shift that took place in 6000 bc.thiyyas may have practiced the thekkan or southern style that was formed by lord agasthya to fight wild animals.thiyas were warriors but lost all battles with lord parashurama and had to give their land and sea ownerships to him. Legends like aromal chekavar had both nair as well as thiyya lineage as his father belonged to a nair caste family n his mother was a pure thiyya.they are also called inter nairs.n what he told was absolutely right ,.....'nairs were termed as warrior class'as brahmins n kshatriyas often used nairs to fight and nairs and kshatriyas were the only caste permitted to learn kalaripayattu.thiyyas were warriors but due to brahmin dominance the fucking namboodiris classed thiyyas as lower caste along with ezhavas or malayars who migrated from sri lanka in 5000 bc.but present nairs exept a few reputed families are a mix of namboodiri brahmins too.

    We can't do real fight by learning kalari. The performances showed here is an practiced and choreographed stunt sequences. So, these cant be implemented in real fight. Altogether, kalari is merely an exercise not at all a warrior art.
    😂😂kalari waste. Nothing useful stuff. Can't stand in front of silambam. Kalari is just a body workout. All choreographed fancy movements, can't do fight with those unwanted, useless stuff. Silambam and kuthuvarisai are always best over kalari.

    • @pukazh1981
      @pukazh1981 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Regarding ur weapon, do you know what is surul patta or surul kathi? we used to do in silambam. we wrap and keep it around waist. do you know oomaithurai, who fought against british, killed many british soldiers with poisoned surul patta. then coming to histroy, i know bit. we the tamilians have more than 3000 years old war art tradtion. with our traditional war art only, we controlled south east asia by Raja raja (985A.D - 1015 A.D), we conquered north india by Rajendira chola around 10th century. I think you ppl were then in forest as cannibals.we don't call silambam as martial art. for us it is war art.

    • @upliftinglife4040

      i totally disagree with you ..i know both martial arts silambam and kalaripayattu..both are good .this martial art not created of entertainment purpose each step have their on purpose .first learn it then open your mouth by simply watching this video you can't explain how power full is a martial arts ..it's a very good martial art for real fight .just come to kerala and just visit some of the kalari center and try to learn it simply insulting a martial art with out knowing is totally disappointing ...kalaripayattu more than a martial art it's a life style..all martial arts are best on their on way.after reading your comment i know what type of character you have..first learn it then write the comment .. who told that silambam is not martial art it's also martial art in your way i think it's not martial art don't bring every one in to your concept ..silambam is a wepon based martial art..kalari and silambam both are used in war field .Silambam (Tamil: சிலம்பம் அல்லது சிலம்பாட்டம்) is a weapon-based Indian martial art originating in Tamil Nadu. It derives from the Tamil word silam meaning "hill" and the Malayalam word bambu from which the English "bamboo" originates. This referred to a particular type of bamboo from the Kurinji hills in present-day Kerala. Thus silambam was named after its primary weapon, the bamboo staff. The related term silambattam often refers specifically to stick-fighting...first go and learn any of this martial arts..
