The main problem with JetSuitX appears to be that it is claiming it is something it is not. The flight seems pretty good, and the price too, however, the the fact that they market it as a private jet when it isn't is the main downer....
Sorry you experienced a five hour delay. Ouch! Never a good thing, especially such a long one. That said, I’d fly with JSX again. I had a great flight with them from PHX-BUR! Even met Jay Leno, a late night TV host here in the US! 🤣
I recently had a 5 hour delay Eindhoven (NL) - Vienna (Aus) on a flight that cost me 21.50 Euro ($23.40) but under EU regulation I got 300 Euros ($326.50) Compensation by way of airline credit!!! Welcome to Europe (Does not apply to UK after Brexit!!) Thanks to Jeb & Noel both for great posts.
A few months ago I had a trip from Oakland, CA (OAK) to Orange County (SNA). I was planning to fly via Southwest Airlines and decided to fly JSX to experience it. When I looked at the numbers I actually paid less for my round trip flight on JSX than what I would have paid if I flew Southwest. No lines, no hassle and an awesome experience from beginning to end.
Seems like every aviation TH-camr hopping on the JSX train now a days - I've took a JSX flight a few weeks ago and got a review coming soon as well XD Great work, as always
Noel, when flying on that plane always try seating as close to the front as possible. In the rear it is extremely noisy. As you go beyond the wings it is miraculously much much quieter. I fly on those planes an awful a lot
Me too! I thought it was either a coincidence or maybe there was a fan of FSX that started Kenmore. Next I'm going to find out that Orbit and Pacific Airlines are real too
Depends... If i am travelling for the pleasure of it, i would go the whole airport, security, shops and lounge experience. If i have to take the same route a few times a week for business, this seems like a more effiecent and stress free way to do so.
Noel, I’ve done a JSX flight from Oakland to Vegas, although that was when they flew from Concord airport. Really was quiet and far more exclusive. Same when we landed at Vegas. We picked up our bags on the runaway as you would on a bus. Unfortunate you had the busy terminal and the delay seems an unlucky one-off. I’d thoroughly recommend JSX to anyone. It did feel like a joy, turning up 30 mins before a flight, no security etc. Go for it!
When you were fidgeting with that window frame....I had this vision of the window popping out and the pressure release in that fuselage caused things to be sucked out the window...including our Channel host!!
Beautiful shot of Mt Rainier on your climb! Wish it was a few seconds longer where you clear the cloud cover. Nevertheless, great video and very enjoyable as all your other videos.
A lot of people were confused by some of the older marketing materials. JSX started as an outgrowth of JetSuite, which is a private jet charter business. They originally marketed JetSuiteX (as it was then known) as “semi-private,” but that wasn’t particularly clear. Between the much-too-similar names and confusing marketing, it left some first-time customers confused about what they were buying. Since then they have radically changed their marketing strategy, starting with a name change last year. It’s now JSX to better distinguish it from JetSuite, and they no longer use the term “semi-private” to describe the experience. To best capture the value proposition, they’re calling it a “hop on jet service.” The value is time and convenience more than anything, though space and personal service are nice perks as well. Of course things have changed a bit since you flew, courtesy of COVID-19. JSX is still flying, albeit with a very reduced schedule. But having a number of spare aircraft on hand has allowed them to do some interesting things, including a huge set of repatriation flights. Once the crisis subsides I think their future is pretty bright considering their growth plans.
You could try Ultimate Air Shuttle some time. It’s a similar service based out of Lunken Airport in Cincinnati. I had coworkers who raved about it for their business trips to Atlanta
It looks like a regional carrier sporting a five-hour delay and operating out of KBFI which you rightly point out is a loooong way from SeaTac. Other than the easier security, it looked like Porter Airlines (Canada). Decent but NOT a private jet. EDIT: Just noticed that JSX terminated Boeing Field the month this was posted.
Reminds me of Boutique Air, a small airline here in the US. They fly Pilatus PC-12 turboprop business aircraft. It's business aircraft for EAS price. I flew them to/from Thief River Falls to Minneapolis. They're around other areas filling out Essential Air Service contracts, so it's pretty cheap. Cramped, but hey, it's a private plane! :3
I’m flying with them from Oakland to Vegas for a guys weekend and only really wanted it for the return flight as we will be probably hungover and I don’t want to deal with the lines etc at the main terminal
Thanks for continuing to upload new content each week at this difficult time for the aviation industry. Nice to remember when things were normal, seems so long ago already! Looking forward to seeing Rachel’s trip soon. Been dipping back into your back catalogue too and revisiting some of your earlier adventures during lockdown. Take care and here’s hoping you are back in the skies soon and things return to some semblance of normality.
Thank you, my trip is coming towards the end of the month - hope you enjoy it. Glad you’re looking through our back catalogue and finding content to watch. Rach
How was the turbulence on that smaller jet? The inside didn’t seem like that private feel. I’d like to see the hanger areas a little nicer. In LAS they have all kinds of boxes and pallets of water bottles everywhere. I get it, It’s a hanger but its cheap to throw up some drywall and have rooms to store all that stuff
5 hours....at least the Museum was there !! As smooth as Noel...come on !!! Great views as always Noel en route !! For the price...well worth it...as long as you have enough time at the other end. Thanks Noel and I hope you and the family are well during these most troubling of times !! I am self isolating at my farm here in Mansfield, Victoria, Australia and we are lucky to have plenty off food etc available at the local super markets so not doing it too tough !! Thanks again mate and take care !!
Many of the large tech companies run "private" shuttles from sites around the US. People who use the service are usually low grade project workers so its not exclusive to executives etc... So its not like a private jet terminal in other countries, its a working utility terminal.
There are actually airlines in Europe which operate shared flights with private jets. But they are not for economy class prices. More like couple hundred euros for a roundtrip.
Noel, try out Contour Airlines one of these days. They're another regional airline. They were supposed to open a base at my airport this year but COVID had other plans. If they reschedule the start to next year maybe I'll book the inaugural flight.
You correctly marked the mighty Mount Rainier, but you failed to mark the equally mighty and impressive Mount Shasta in Northern California at 9:52. About as high as Rainier and almost as high as the Matterhorn, but less popular because it's in a sparsely populated region. Both Rainier and Shasta are historically active volcanoes with serious eruption hazards. Shasta's latest eruption, some 200 years ago, threw ash as far away as present-day Utah and Wyoming.
Gosh - reminds me of Impulse Airlines at Sydney in late 1990s. Went from one of the Executive Terminals. Very briefly Jetstreams then Beech 1900Ds. Went on a stopping service to Brisbane via Newcastle, port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour, Lismore and Coolangatta. Drinks were in an Esky kicked down the aisle by the co-pilot. Allegedly service was a means of using the planes in day time to balance freight and newspapers at night. Sadly like your experience once failed to hold a connection that cost me the point of the trip. Sadly no longer exists

Totally agree, seems hardly a 'private jet experience', but it does seem preferable to a regular airline experience. As Flying with Dan said, perhaps they shouldn't present it as such.
Noel I’m sorry but in future video you’re going to have to put a disclaimer on to say when these were filmed because people seem to think you filmed only a few hours ago
While I do understand the economies of scale, and the need for ever larger aircraft, I don't much like flying on them. That Embraer is just the right size for a civilized flight. Not so small it can be classed as a puddle jumper, but not large enough to be a flying cattle car. If I ever have occasion to fly again, I hope it will be on an aircraft of that size.
I admit, while I'm highly biased to Southwest Airlines, I would consider this airline if the prices were similar enough and the timing works... Though I'm still much more likely to take the time to do whatever combo of bus and/or train it takes if the price is right heh
11:16 Looks like you caught 2 of KaiserAir's 737s here, the ones that operate the private Kona Shuttle to the north coast of the Big Island of Hawaii. Now THAT'S a private jet.
Looks good value for money, well apart from the SHOCKING delay. Bit like flying Loganair without the Tunnocks Caramel Wafer :)) Nice video Noel, your film quality is always fantastic mate.
Kinda curious how long this video was made.......Looking at the JSX website it doesn't show BFI as part of their route map. OAK/Napa/SoCal/Vegas and PHX as their service area
No way near a private jet experience but a cute exclusive economy one, it Is also probably very nice that the security wasn't up to your eyeballs either
I hate airports such as LHR, so I favour smaller aerodromes whenever possible - which isn't very often! I am not surprised you did not find an international electrical socket because, for all its size, the US is very parochial and thinks itself the centre of the world, but then, we know better, don't we! I would certainly consider flying with JSX - it's my kind of airline.
