LMAO that's hilarious. I don't know if this is common among US airlines but the crew are so entertaining. Here in Australia, while the crew are always nice and engaging, they're never joking around like I've seen from these US carriers which is a bit sad.

    • @alvexok5523
      @alvexok5523 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@raelamaestra Yes, and I really don't see what's wrong with Spirit airlines. Other than a couple weeks ago hearing about some nasty lowdown passengers flying on them, but that's the passengers fault. And hearing about management forcing the pilots to go on strike, but then I read somewhere how that story was blown way out of proportion. You can't believe everything you read on the internet anyway, and I'm referring to the strike stuff. I think that there's nothing wrong with Spirit airlines. Whatever complaints have been made have been mostly made by Karen passengers, and the other issues it's had have not been that often, no more often than on other airlines

I guess they wanted to make sure everyone boards on time. But dont tell me were boarding at 7:30am if we're boarding at about 8:30am. And no it wasnt a delay. We arrived on time for one city and ahead of time for another city. I'm probably missing something, but I havent had this done on any other airline.

Just flew Spirit from Orlando to Kansas City. There was a medical emergency occurring on board and as a I and another RN and EMT assisted in patient care the crew were very responsive to our request. The crew was versed in basic care and the plane was equipped with extra oxygen, blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, emergency medicine, IV insertion needles and IV fluids. The captain was responsive to the need to land and have paramedics take patient to a medical facility.
The staff on Spirit were GREAT!!!!
After landing and heading home we received and thank you from Spirit with a discount on our next flight. The crew were a class act. And the captain was very appreciative and concerned for his passenger as they all were.
The passengers were soooo supportive as well. All were respectful for the person experiencing this event.
Not one complaint for the delay in their trip. Go passengers on this flight best people ever

I lived in the Virgin Islands for a year and they were the only option, other than Continental (which is now United). With American I almost always had to change planes in Puerto Rico when coming back to the states, whereas Continental had direct flights to Newark. I live in San Francisco, and usually fly Delta when I have a choice. I took them to Barcelona in 2020 and it was a pleasant experience. If you’re surprised by that when you get on a flight with them and don’t like the high carryon prices, the fact you have to pay for drinks etc, then you should just pay the extra cost for a United, southwest flight etc. most of the issues I find when I go on spirit flights are the passengers. A lot of them seem to always be rowdy and don’t like to follow rules. Then take it out on the cabin crew. It’s a shame.

xaifer, while the starting salary for pilots is pretty low, after just a few years, you can make like 70k at regional airlines, and then a few years later, you can easily be making six figures as a pilot. Ask any pilot out there, and the majority will tell you that they do it because they love their job. The joy of flying is enough, to be willing to start with a very low salary. And some regional airlines hire people without college degrees, who will typically fly the smaller jets, but if you want to fly the very large planes, across the whole country, or even all around the world, then the best path is an aviation university, where they combine professional flight training with a 4 year degree. These programs usually are very expensive, but if you take out a loan, and you finish the program, then you get to be a pilot, and you can pay off the loan after a few years. There are also airlines, that make a deal with you, where they 100% cover the cost of your flight training, as long as you agree to work with them for a specific amount of years.

And if its your first or only flight in ten years maybe with your whole family the amount disappointment and stress in that situation when youre left lost at an airport because the airline does not or can not care for you although it is often times their fault (overbooked flights for example) is so much higher than if youre a frequent flyer. And bad expierences with flying are often a constant reminder making you have negative emotions towards flying in general. If you fly enough to have missed a few flights and have spent a night on an airport bench you dont care as much anymore😂But it makes you appreciate service more and makes you give it a healthier balance against cost

Back when the Russia/Ukraine thing went up there was also a storm system on the East coast. I was on my way to Amsterdam (from Malaga) to connect to a Boston flight. I was already delayed by an hour. I got an email on my phone (as soon as I got data) at the gate telling me I was re-booked on the ATL flight, which was an even tighter connection. This is big shit when you're at an airport you don't know, are sleep-deprived, and just want to get home. I _just_ made it, thanks not to KLM but to the AMS airport staff that expedited me through the checks and called the gate to let them know I was coming. I jogged the length of Schipol and of course once on the plane the f*cking thing sat there for an hour, so I had to run in Atlanta too. Ah, the joys of travel...
I was lucky in that I had access to email, otherwise I would have burned all the time trying to figure it all out at the xfer desk in AMS, and also I only had carry-on, so no luggage to worry about. This was actually the very first time I'd travelled light and it paid off handsomely.

I'm a flight attendant for a low cost carrier. In my career, I did fly for a major for over 8 years. There is obviously a vast difference between full service and ultra low cost service. Like someone else said, you get what you pay for. Your fare buys you a seat only. You have to pay for everything else including water. I think a lot of people who flew years ago expect that same level of service. I love my job and have a lot of fun with my passengers, but I have had to explain these two big differences quite a lot to people. The most important goal of any airline is to get everyone to their destination safely and on-time. Unfortunately, we aren't always able to do that and that's what we feel bad the most for. 😞

The other issue is that although the prices, as you said, are roughly similar as the better airlines (which also have "Basic Economy" fares to compete with these airlines), the frequent flier miles earned are obviously more valuable on Alaska, American, Delta, or United.

I would say that having to pay for bags would be another negative, but unless you're flying Southwest, all airlines have baggage fees. Because it's still extremely cramped seating, which isn't even necessary for the flights to be cheap. Look at Southwest and JetBlue, they are also low-cost carriers, but they offer more legroom than the "Big 3" legacy carriers. In fact, JetBlue offers more legroom in economy than any other airline.

@@wta1518 My experience at least price was is that Southwest or JetBlue charges more than Spirit or Frontier. Now granted like you said, there are more perks like more leg room, Southwest gives you two free bags (But no assigned seating which is why I am scared to fly with them. I picture it being like hunger games and everyone fighting over seats lol) etc. But I think it depends on what is important to you. The pain thing I look for is price and I am happy to give up a few extras to save some $ that I can spend elsewhere on my trip. Other people may say they would rather pay more money and get more leg room or bring more luggage and that is fine. We live in a free market and can choose where we want to spend our money.

I had a frontier flight with the same seat models as yours. They were the most uncomfortable seats I've ever been on. My bum was sorry and couldn't sit down at all and had to stand for mostly the entire flight to Vegas from SFO. The frontier flight back to SFO was much better because the seats were significantly more comfortable.

Wow!! This was enjoyable to see. I have 33 yrs with a major airline…..i never knew this ….as i have never flown either airline. The thing is…you do what you have to do. If you want more services, you will pay for them. What you want is a safe flight. You want a crew that does their job well (most people do not know how hard the flight attendants work! I could never be one! My props to them!). I want all airlines to succeed…..we are all family! Good job!

The staff was extra nice because they saw you filming. Go undercover next time and see how fast you get thrown to the last boarding group and no luggage.

Just recently had a flight from OH-->DEN---Vegas, and the same way back with the same connection. All on frontier. This was my first time on a plane and i was for sure slightly spooked. The staff having fun made my time a lot less stressful. Didn't mind anything as i didnt have anything to compare it to. I am also only 5'10 so the legroom was only slightly a problem as my knees tend to lock up over long periods of not being able to stretch so i just made sure to stand up and walk about a couple times. Overall exp was pretty good and I came to the same conclusion. Why so much hate for Frontier?

Two years ago, in May, I flew Frontier from Savannah to Denver, then Denver to San Jose. The flight was on time, made the connection easily in Denver and the next flight was just as pleasant. I had nice seatmates and landed on time in San Jose. The seat was a little hard, but otherwise comfortable and plenty of legroom. Bring a book and a fully charged audio device for entertainment. I enjoyed it.

Idk I’ve always loved frontier. It may be a cheap airline but I’ve always loved the staff that works for them and I’ve always been happy flying with frontier :) they have really good spirits and overall just a good time for an airline. The trays don’t bother me to much and the seats are thin but not as uncomfortable as other airlines small planes. It’s not the best but again, I’ve personally always enjoyed my flights on frontier :)
