I had this very problem just today! Very frustrating (and still can’t understand why the thread won’t stay in thread guide!). I did finally put a net on the spool and it worked. But, I do love your hint and will be getting some command strips and so this! Look forward to more of your hints and tips in the weeks to come! Thank you!
Your tips are so helpful! I've learned several things and purchased some of your great products. I do have a question; I have a 740 and the last thread guide before the thread goes through the needle has always given me trouble. If I reverse or go in reverse when free motion quilting, the thread comes out of that guide. It doesn't prevent me from sewing, but it is annoying to see that thread flopping around. Do you have a solution for that? Thanks, Jeff!
My touch screen is frozen when I turn it on, and I followed your steps, but nothing happens when I touch the icon. The only thing that worked is to push the ECO button, and then the icon jumped to the other side of the screen as it did for you, but after doing this, the screen came on and it was still frozen. It was just serviced/had a tune up this fall. Thank you for your help!

Can you show how to thread it from the top of the machine? Not sure I'm getting the thread in the tension disk. I have my foot up and would appreciate any help.
Some of my customers had this issue. They were using a D type foot but did not have the dual feet feature pulled down. The main feed dog is the middle one just behind the needle. Also try loosening the presser foot pressure by 20 percent. Also try a 0mm stitch plate.
My tips for 880 and 830 owners is to take lots of classes from a dealer that knows the model. The dealer in Salt Lake City is the best at training and education on this model.
If you hold on to the top thread at the spool with your right hand after you hook the back silver thread guide with both hands, drop the thread down the top slot and follow the numbers it is IMPOSSIBLE to miss the upper tension unit. If you are having tension issues using this method something is wrong with your machine. Please give me the model number and issues you are having, what does the stitch look like, top and bottom... I have the same problem except a piece of that guide broke off and it doesn’t stay threaded and won’t sew??? So frustrating!!

I am sewing on a 590 Bernina. While embroidering My thread breaks after each letter. What am I doing wrong.
Are the 500 series machines newer than the 700 series?
The 500 series were developed after the 7 series to be a smaller more portable model almost the same machine only smaller
Why are there no tutorials on the 880 plus?
I don't sell that many 880's and need to put my efforts toward the 7 series.
