I've often thought people in the Dark Ages, living in mud huts, must have looked at the gigantic marble ruins of the Roman Empire in awe, trying hard to imagine a civilization capable of building such things. It's the same feeling we get today looking at furnishings and clothes of the 1950s and '60s.
This stereo is just like my dads! I also have this stereo in a different style cabinet and I'm missing a couple of the square push button knobs. Do you know where I could find some?
@@gregsvintageconsoles3673 This must be the first year zenith went solid state in guessing? I have a low hours 1968 Curtis Mathes console that's still fully vacuum tube. All the tubes look like original CM branded tubes. Your set is beautiful btw.
I have an all-original Motorola tube-type w/ center lid that's built in Dutch Modern with a selectable 3-speaker system in storage. Would you be interested?

Had a neighbor who had one of these in the late 60's. To this day, I recall what a wonderful, full sound it put out. My modern system cannot match it.
An impressive Zenith stereo system of it's time. But what a tragic horrific loss with that singer R.I.P.
That's a beautiful console.
the Zenith console Turntables sounded so good, and the turntables were near perfection with those light weight styluses
Beautiful. I'm about to recap my '68 YT960
I have one too! Need my tape deck serviced.
Only the top of the line Zenith consoles had that turntable built in house by Zenith. Lesser models used a VM sourced turntable.
True....this is a top line unit
Hermosó combinado (aca en argentina le desimos asi).!!!

Who needs a fancy living room for this baby, when you can crank it up sitting on a 2-wheel trailer?
Beautiful
I see you can connect it to your hitch and have music as you drive!
The storage for the records can be removed and an 8-track option installed in the spot.
no...wasnt available with this model
8 Tracks sound terrible.
nice
Just picked one of these out of an alley. Solid state correct?
