Why I have Oliver Tractors and the equipment I have

This is a video I've wanted to make for awhile to answer a question I'm often asked, Why I have Oliver tractors and the equipment I have. Well it's pretty simple, Cost ! I grew up on a small farm and helped my family and neighbors so I got to run all the different brands of tractors and saw the good and bad points of each one. I didnt matter to me what color it was as long as I got to run it , So years later I've owned about every brand of tractor out there so the brand doesnt matter to me. When something comes up for sale or at auction cheap and its in good shape there is a good chance I'll buy it ! To me its as simple as Price and Condition and can I get parts for it. We still have our old Oliver dealership that is open working on Oliver's and getting parts for them and there 7 miles away, The closest JD or IH dealer is 25 miles away and closest Ford NH dealer is 50 to 60 miles away so it just makes sense to buy Oliver/White when the dealer is 7 miles away. I have nothing against any brand of tractors or equipment as they all made good and they all had there screw ups simple as that. I look at it like this, If a tractor is in good condition and the price is right I'm interested in it no matter what the color is. In my mind its simple if brand A(JD 4020) tractor is a 100 hp and costs $12000 and brand B (IH 966) 100 hp tractor is $9000 and brand C (Oliver 1850)is a 100 hp tractor for $6500 and all will do the same job with ease I'll go with brand C just about every time ! Not because I'm a tight wad its because it makes the most sense to buy and for me the closest dealer around so doesnt it make sense to buy it ? As farmers were business man or women and its up to us to make the decisions how to spend our money and to keep costs as low as possible so we make a profit , It's as simple as that. I dont tell anyone what to buy or own thats up to you, You can do as you please and I'll do the same. I was never one to be one that had to have the latest and greatest or new stuff good used is good enough for me ! LOL To me if its cheap and doest what I want it to do I'll own it ! And when something like a combine comes along and is a 1 owner machine with 1200 original hours on it with a head for $1000 I'll have to buy it even if I'm not crazy about them I know a good deal when I see one and I'll run it ! What I'm doing works for me and its all paid for and thats the way I want to keep it ! I hope you enjoyed watching. Bandit
