I've been slowly adding a show archive to the videos including a full transcript added as sub titles and a full track listing (with links to TH-cam videos for each track). The Claire episodes are great. They remind me of "Season 0", before Karl was around. Obviously Karl is what overall makes the show, but its nice to have a break. There's many great moments, like when Steve is talking about his conversation with his father and Gervais is belting out some of his biggest laughs.
I agree. They are very similar to Season 0! The boys seem to feed off Claire's reactions and she definitely encourages their ridiculousness. I bet they loved having her laugh at all their jokes!

One of my favorite episodes. My favorite episode is definitely a Claire (or even Camfied) episode. Probably MECHANT, but this one is solid from beginning to end. Possibly the most laughs per minute.

The most underrated running jokes in this series are Steves mocking tone of singing songs, always using a kind of theatrical play way of singing it whatever the song. Thats my humour down to a Tee and he does it 3/4 times throughout this season.
There's an old clip from the pre-Karl days when they were trying to get Steve a date on air. He pretends to like Radiohead and sings the chorus of 'My Iron Lung' in an operatic style. It kills me every time.

Two of the major differences in comments on these shows over the years are 1) people appreciating the Clare shows. The comments used to all be about slipping them due to no Karl. Now, everyone says how great Ricky and Steve are without him. 2) People saying how great Steve is. Everyone used to say he was tedious and a loser, now he is recognised as holding the whole show together.

Aw that’s sweet. I’d love to see Steve’s family lol. Lost my dad young and my mum was always weight focused, but my grandparents were *always* worried and about what I was eating, and my granny wanted to cook whenever I visited. They would send me home with bags of shopping or cooked meals in dishes. It would hurt their feelings if I refused. Ricky actually says in an interview (with dale winton) that basically once they discovered Karl, he is then who they based the show around completely. Because Karl saw the world so differently, and Ricky found him so hilarious and wanted to introduce him to the world. I think he found it funny that his name was the title of the show - simply because he was just the most famous, so it had the most pull - when the show in actual fact was all about Ricky and Steve poking Karl’s brain and listening to all of Karl’s crazy stories and opinions on things. Ricky found Karl hilarious and unique. So if you feel the show is reliant on Karl, that’s because Ricky made it that way.
