  • In this video we take a look back at the 1978 film, Invasion of the Body Snatchers and examine if the themes still resonate with us today.
Living In The Past is a show about revisiting pop culture from the past. Hosted by Jeremy Scott, Jeff Herring, Devin Kleffer, and Carl Hassler. These friends can’t help but revisit the movies and TV shows that they loved from their younger years. Come along and get a little nostalgic with us as we look back, enjoy, and ask the important question: is it still OK to like this stuff?

One of the first movies I saw in the theater with my parents (why did they take me to see this as a child?). This movie was absolutely no joke. The dog with the human face while the banjo was playing. The pod transformations. And the shrieks the invaders make. It didn’t even need to be a sci-fi movie it was that creepy. And the ending oh man that ending. This still holds to this DAY!!

It really holds up, both thematically and conceptually. Additionally, the filmmaking (the technical stuff) is just superb.

@@livingthepast Kaufmans direction is superb. I am not sure how he did not go on to become an a prolific director.
