This car looks like an awesome project. As a retired GM tech. I enjoyed watching you work. Had me laughing a time or two. Thank you

Oil filters were optional on '47 Champions. When was it last run. do you know? If it was running since the '80s it probably ran detergent oil, but a lightweight non-detergent oil is what I'd use for her first start-up. I trust you will be bypassing the gas tank for now? Pretty exciting!

Great patina. That lump needs pulling and a modern four banger and trans putting in if you want to make a going to town rig.

Why put in a modern 4 banger? That old 6 cylinder was a reliable engine and got good gas mileage. With overdrive they would consistently get over 30+ mpg highway and mid 20's in town.

@DPaint-v5j why go through all that work to end up with a 4 cylinder?

@todddenio3200 you can get high BHP economical four bangers these days. Make that car sit up and beg. Honda engines. . Have some fun with it. Make it drift. That engine going nowhere. Except enjoying other road users.

When you are pulling out old spark plugs or bolts and nuts and they are stiff like that once you get it to start to turn, run it back in and then out, in, out, etc as you try to get it out do it in stages so you don't break them off and create more work for yourself.
