FYI, if you use UniFi networking, don't have either device on a 6E network....idk why but it's SUPER laggy/choppy on 6E and unusable, but it's fine on a 5ghz and 2.4ghz network.
Complete frustration: on McOS Sequoia trying to connect your iphone camera to your computer there is a message " Iphone camera is not available from Mac!!!"
lets keep in mind we can not make or recieve calls when mirroring is active apple is working on this as it is supposed to work but its not and they have gotten alot of complaints so far

This came up in my feed for some reason, I thought it said posted 3 years ago, the 3 weeks ago caught me. So this is a totally new ability with Apple stuff? Interesting, good for users they're starting to get at least some abilities like this now, be it limited. I genuinely thought it was all integrated in the ecosystem thing already hence 3 year/ 3 week 😳.
Number one thing you need to know is how to activate it.
U need to update your iphone to iOS 18 and mac to macOS Sequoia 15.And both should have same apple ID. It will automatically pops in your mac to mirror your iPhone
@@hotnoobgaming9663 Thanks I’m in Europe so there’s no point. It doesn’t work because as Apple can’t apparently mirror a screen like everyone else without breaking local law.

@@hotnoobgaming9663 no my devices are compatible. M1 Macbook Air and iPhone 11. It’s Apple not complying with EU law, EU based accounts are barred from getting this. Changing the language and region won’t circumvent it either. It’s there, the icon and all, but it says « not available in your region ». I guess they want to screw Europe because now they have to pay taxes to Ireland.
@@hotnoobgaming9663 My devices are compatible. It's just that Apple can't mirror a screen without breaking EU law. Now they have to pay taxes up to 13 BILLION, not counting the back taxes they've been owing Ireland ever since that litigation, they are giving Europe a major finger. Not to forget they are still imposing USB2 on their USBC ports because of pettiness. EU cut their Lightning connector accessories gold mine. As a 20 years Apple client, I'm growing impatient with that company by the day.

I realize this video is not about this aspect, and perhaps I'm not imaginative enough, but why would anyone use this? What are the potential use cases / scenarios this functionality provides? 🤔
one of it is for teacher/trainer who teaches on mobile app - to project on screen
@@4zlan4ziz Thanks, sounds interesting / useful, but from what was shown I didn't see a full-screen implementation, only an iPhone shaped / sized window on the Mac.
@@skipmcilvaineI agree, I'm not sure why the mirrored phone display is the same exact size as the actual phone. You should be able to 2x the size.
I think there are multiple possibilities. When you're working on Mac and got an iPhone app notification, you don't have to grab your phone to work on that notification, you can kinda do it without switching device. Or maybe things like drag and drop. Or you want to type long text contents on one of your iPhone apps via a physical keyboard. Or drag and drop files and photos back and forth from the two devices.
I think this will be one of the coolest feature Apple will be able to promote different functionalities in future
