many thanks Andrew just got my new mac 2024 just followed your insructions to get it up to date .very easy to follow keep up the good work. many thanks again.
Macintosh, Well learnt some more new things today watching this video. Fairly new to the Mac as have used Windows for some years. Well presented and laid out video, thank you very much
This was a nice set of tips for my Macintosh MBP I move to beta for Sequoia three weeks ago. I shared this to my Mac to go through these again on my Mac.
Cool video. One of the Linus channels tech quickly prepays did is video about ad blocking dns. Just use that and you won’t see ads and won’t need to block trackers.
Macintosh. Great video but you forgot to mention game mode on Sequoia! It's a great boost in FPS and performance toggling on game mode. Hope our Macs will turn into gaming machines in the future
it will since it transitioned to Apple Silicon ir ARM which is same as iPhone. Mobile gaming in iPhones has beaten the combined profits of "Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo, PC games, and Steam"....COMBINED! Game developers are now starting porting AAA games to iPhones...once it's in iPhone, it will be on iPad and Macs next esp with Apple Game Porting Toolkit that translates games from years to months or just a year
I disagree on disabling significant locations. It is used for some features to help build context of places you go frequently. This helps with maps, calendar, photos (memories), etc. It is end-to-end encrypted so Apple can’t read it nor a man in the middle. The only reason to disable it imo is if you’re being harassed by someone who has access to your phone.
I’m getting a bit annoyed by these “gurus” making these type of videos each time there’s an OS upgrade.. it’s FULL of them right now…. who really safe-proofs them? It’s just their opinions… 🤔
If your using the 80% battery charging limitation, it turns off optimize battery charging which is designed for full 100% charging. If your privacy conscious and don’t use apple maps etc, it is worth turning it off and saving battery power.
macintosh I was there when DOS 2.0 was new, when IBM equipment and software/hardware came with small 3 Ring Binders, so you could easily add revised documentation and notes.
Macintosh. Love the work mate, just updated and love the features. I'd still a sucker for better snap tool as it still allows me to have the rule of thirds (2 thirds on a big app, 1 for like notes or something). It's something that I fell in love with in Windows 11 as it works amazingly well in landscape too. I am noticing that the new software has better clear text in external displays as well
Great content, I'm probably most looking forward to macOS updates as suppose to those for other Apple devices. I want to maximize my MacBook Pro and your video offers excellent tips! - - Macintosh
If you have a large external monitor, Rectangles is better than the built in Apple tiling options. It offers 1/6ths and 1/3rds and a lot more options. I have a widescreen monitor and frequently have it split 1/3 and 2/3 with my laptop at full screen for something else. Whatever works best for the individual but I wouldn't dismiss Rectangles quite yet!
I can't imagine that apple's tiling being better than rectangle is a very widely shared perspective as you think. I personally experience even the free version of rectangle is superior to apple's implementation, but to each their own.
@@stacksweaver to be honest, I leave it on also on my iPhone. It just uses the location to “remember” where you’re going at that time of the day, week, month and year. For example, when I go to work. After a week or so. It automatically prompts me the directions to work when it’s connecting to CarPlay. It’s a useful feature imo
Highly disagree, there are some factory settings on my MacBook that I absolutely need to change or I’ll go crazy such as the tap to select on the trackpad
No fluff intro and straight into the setting changes, thanks for not wasting our time. That's what we love to see!
there was 15 seconds intro...

im not so sure
M4?
If you're planning on getting a M3 Macbook you might wanna wait since Apple will release the M4 Macbooks in late October or early November
@@Kyuubii999 I want to buy M3 MacBook Air and I don't think the Air will be getting M4 so early since the M3 Airs are only half a year old.

It’s also used for optimised battery charging.
Exactly, this is a tip for making your Mac less intelligent and worse performant. It's a really bad take to advise this to the viewers.
I’m getting a bit annoyed by these “gurus” making these type of videos each time there’s an OS upgrade.. it’s FULL of them right now…. who really safe-proofs them? It’s just their opinions… 🤔
I thought the same, he could have mentioned what exactly significant locations is before just recommending to turn it off.
If your using the 80% battery charging limitation, it turns off optimize battery charging which is designed for full 100% charging. If your privacy conscious and don’t use apple maps etc, it is worth turning it off and saving battery power.

I'll only stop using Rectangle if there are also keyboard shortcuts for repositioning the windows
Yes, there are; it works much snappier than Rectangle, as it is built into the OS.

Relax, no one NEEDS to change any setting at launch.
Significant locations does so much for the system, especially laptops, such a silly thing to disable
