    Just bought mine this past saturday and absolutely love it. I didnt get the pano roof or 4x4, but did get the nightshade edition with the delmonico red paint. This truck is stuffed to the gills with features and options, and what a comfortable ride it has. And the eco diesel is much more fuel economical than the hemi. Lovin it.

    After taking the market by storm in 2019, and against a formidable 2021 F150 and upcoming Sierra Denali...this thing STILL has the best interior. From comfort, to layout, to function, to room, to features, it delivers. It doesn't have all of the tricks that Ford offers(nobody does) and even though I am a Ram enthusiast, I find the GM Duramax 3.0 to be a slightly better diesel(its an I-6, the perfect configuration for a diesel), but on the mid to top end, Ram's luxury and refinement just delivers.

    • @mybro727
      @mybro727 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope. The 2022 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate has this thing beat! I don’t see any major tech upgrades that even put it in the realm of the Sierra as far as technology goes. The Sierra has the best interior design layout, features and functionality. It’s a technological marvel, intuitive and luxurious too. It’s also the most *refined* & comfortable truck in the segment. There isn’t a powertrain available that comes close to the feel of the Duramax mated to GM’s buttery smooth 10-speed automatic.
      RAM has great room for improvement in functionality. It still baffles me that the designers at RAM thought people would be ok with losing the functionality of their brake lights any time a turn signal is activated. That’s sort of a big deal. RAM definitely isn’t leading in “function”. A brake light that works simultaneously with the turn signal is a must here in Georgia traffic.

    • @hellkitty1014
      @hellkitty1014 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@mybro727 the Sierra Ultimate's dash is not as intuitive as the Ram. Sure, GM at long last caught up to the screen size, but UC5 is still better. And I'm talking material usage: Everything you see in the Ram is real. Aluminum is ALUMINUM, the woods, the Nappa leather(GM doesn't offer that on the trucks), H/K 19 speaker sound system, seat comfort(GM seats are akin to sitting on a stack of phone books), rear seating environment(cooled/heated rear seats, reclining seats, most rear legroom), panoramic roof, etc...all for less than the price of that $82K Denali Ultimate.
      On the diesel, I like the 3.0 Dmax. But the current overheating and future reliability scare me(belt-driven oil pumps and no oil cooler is a recipe for disaster).

    • @mybro727
      @mybro727 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hellkitty1014 _Now_ the RAM has certain features like rear view camera mirror which’s helps it appear to be a major tech upgrade/more tech savvy but we all know where they got _that_ idea. GM. I haven’t read any long term I6 Duramax owners complaining of “disasters “. If Dodge/RAM’s reliability doesn’t “scare you” then I assure you GM’s Duramax or any other mechanical part from gm is the *least* of your worries.

    • @mybro727
      @mybro727 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hellkitty1014 There’s nothing more intuitive about the RAM’s infotainment display to me. It’s actually harder to use. They have the same basic gauge setup from 2015. They did put a larger screen in the interior for 2019 and wrapped a few more things in leather but it still ain’t nothing innovative, new or fresh about it. I like the pano sunroof and air suspension but nothing that’s a deal breaker. It’s actually harder on the eyes to have to look down to look at the bottom of the RAM’s vertically glued infotainment screen vs. looking across to the right of the Sierra’s 14-inch display. Looking across is easier - never losing sight of the road. Again, GM takes it up a notch with the imbedded Google UX software built _into_ their infotainment system with over the air updates. And wireless Apple CarPlay. This system is superior to those found in $100,000+ SUVs like the Grand Wagoneer and Lincoln Navigator who have less capable software powering all their screens. The RAM is behind in this regard.
      The GMC Sierra has real open pore woods, real high quality stitched leathers, and have *always* boasted authentic metals.
      Heated/ventilated air conditioned seats now with massage functionality as well are standard on the Denali Ultimate trim. Same for the Multi-Pro tailgate. Heads Up Display, SuperCruise autonomous driving feature which is available while towing, all standard on the Sierra Ultimate. The RAM is just as expensive and doesn’t offer anything to even rival this tech. Their barn door? That’s a joke.

    The reviewer opens the barn door on the tailgate and says, "I'm not really sure why you would open the tailgate like this." Okay, that's when you know you're not a truck guy whatsoever. They tailgate opens like that so you don't kill your back trying to either place something in the back of the bed or to pull something out, you don't have to reach all the way across the tailgate. Go try one of these RAM tailgate systems, they are the absolute BEST invention ever, in a truck. It's super nice, if you use your truck as a truck, that is.

      From personally owning a 2020 1500 limited, it’s pretty nice. When in normal mode, there’s TONS of clearance, but with the auto side steps it kinda negates the need of the low setting unless you have a low garage ceiling because this truck is very tall. Aero mode is fantastic and it’ll automatically go into it once a certain speed threshold is meet, really reduces the fuel consumption on this massive v8 truck. We’ve averaged 24mpg on a 800 mile road trip in our truck. We personally haven’t used the off-road suspension settings often (it’s a city truck really) but it is useful whenever we decide to do our own oil change so we can get under the truck easier. The ride is a little stiffer and sportier in aero mode due to less suspension travel, and vice versa in off-road settings.

    Major agreement M Hamlin, the split tailgate is a major reason for my purchase of Ram 2022. I garden and do a lot of DIY around home, NOT having to lift or push heavy bags or other heavy items when tailgate needs to be closed is a win /win. I have a flip-up center seat for a console on my RAM 4x4 with Wildpeak tires and after market rims!... Awesome in the snow and no problems with slipping at all! I recommend at least stainless steel shorty sport tuned headers to replace the cast iron manifolds, as they are known for breaking/snapping bolts (heat/thaw issues on aluminum heads)!... And a 6.2 liter oil high volume oil pump on the 5.7 hemi engines, gives better oil distribution to reduce cam wear, which is another problem they Chrysler is addressing now! A good tunnuae cover reduces drag also (recommended)!
    Why Chrysler doesn't make sport tuned headers instead of cast iron for the aluminum heads a standard is beyond my understanding!... Saves gas and gives more power regardless! These upgrades are well worth doing!

    My biggest complaint with the 2022 is the throttle response. Even going from a 2018 Rebel to a 2022 Laramie there is a big difference. From a stop it's just very sluggish on the gas pedal. When you give it a little gas it doesn't just go like it used to.
    Going to do intake maybe exhaust but it's kind of annoying that you'll have to add a mod to adjust throttle response. But I guess that's the 21st century. Also the big 12 inch screen is OK but am not seeing the benefit over the smaller screen. Dealer will tell you you can stream your phone stream to the uconnect. But on Android you can't just stream your phone screen. Would again require $1000+ in mods to mess with the A/V inputs or tear open your dash to get to the uconnect unit, etc..
    So I am still a little torn, if you're happy with your 4th gen RAM I'd say keep it.
    They even messed up the phone holders, used to be in a good spot on the center console. But now they are completely unusable with the gigantic bottomless center console and 12 inch screen.

      Keep in mind a few things when using a decibel reader in your vehicle. You have to hold it in front of you, not to the middle of the truck. No one rides in the middle of the truck. Also, you have to test against other vehicles going down the same road (for road noise) going at the same exact speed and, if possible, the exact same day for the same wind speed you are going against or with. Believe it or not, it makes a huge difference with a harsher road or, wind noise. Just keep that in mind, I see so many of these TH-cam testers making the sound testing mistakes over and over.
