Thank you! I made a little "gadget" that I use if the post below the ground isn't too rotten. Essentially it is a U-shaped steel plate with a few holes on the bottom where I can insert some 10" lag screws with a impact driver into the solid wood. I attach a chain to the sides of the plate (a couple of small shackles) and use the loader to lift up the post.
Thanks Hugh! I’ve been thinking of something like that but I have no way of making such a thing as I am not a welder. My idea was more like a grapple on a chain that could be lowered on the tractor loader or maybe build a little stand that has a winch that could be placed over the post and then wind it out. But again, I don’t have a good way to build it.
@@hervedelnorte7928 I made everything with stuff from Home Hardware. A heavy U-plate for supporting 4x4 posts, some log lags, a couple of shackles, and chain yoke, which I hook up to the tractor
