I just stumbled across your channel and it dawned on me that we crossed paths while you were filming this. I found it unusual at the time seeing such a nice, new truck out on those roads but it all makes sense now. It's great to see local scenery in these reviews, excellent work!
I agree with you but I'm running into reports of folks having quality control and other issues with this truck concerning software glitches, bad modules and fit and trim. What do you think? I tend to give these kinds of new vehicle iterations a couple years but I really don't want to wait.
@@SirtubalotTX Yes I agree. When shopping for an F150 my sales person told me to stay away from the Hybrid for now. He drove one himself and sent me screenshots of his that broke down and other customers he had sold a hybrid too. I ended up going with the 5.0 Lariat.
@@marlostanfield8763 Thanks for the info, not giving up on the F150 Hybrid but might wait awhile. I drive a 2018 STX supercrew 4x4. The STX isn't the nicest truck ford makes, but it is the nicest one I can afford to pay for. The tech Ford is putting in these modern F150's is insane. To add perspective to my post, I drove a 2006 XLT for 15 years. Imagine my surprise when they showed all the cool stuff in a 2018 model truck. I edit my videos on a supped up thread ripper powered editing rig and my truck has more usb ports (LOL) This is a great time to be a truck owner.

I have the 2021 Lariat, it’s a very nice to drive powerful truck. I head north nearly every weekend for a 3 1/2 hrs drive. I plan to buy the Platinum version soon. Batteling with 3.5 Turbo or 3.5 Fuel/Electric.
Enjoyed watching, although I’ve been following Ford F-150 for awhile due to the hybrid integration. I believe Ford’s utility and ergonomic cabin design hits all the consumer points of interest and ease of use. The tech is savvy and forward. I’m looking at the Limited Powerboost Hybrid. Of course the 2021 Raptor 37 negates all modifications needed for a regular F-150. 😂 … Drive safe! #Ford, #F150, #FordHybrid
You should note that almost zero F150 have over 3000 lbs of payload... Only the regular cab with special payload package in its XL trim does... Almost all of the F150 you see on the road (Crew Cab XLT or LARIAT) have between 1300 and 1800 pounds of payload available.
Haha...eighty miles per hour isn't going to deliver anywhere near the 24 mpg ratings; you need to drive 55 to get that kind of mileage. At 80, you are running in the boost mode of the 3.5 liter V6 and almost no electric assist. Great demonstration of the truck's capability. I'd love to drive that trail in my F-150 FX4.

Off road “Driving Modes” are marketing gimmicks. If, as a potential buyer of an off-road capable vehicle, you do not know how basic 4WD (not all-wheel drive) systems work, educate yourself before you buy. Also, there is nothing inherently wrong with leaf-sprung, solid rear axels. In fact, they are less expensive, more durable and offer greater true off-road articulation. Certainly if you are concerned about sports-car like handling, IRS is more suitable. But for hauling, towing, and off-road work, the rear suspension systems on F-150, 250, 350 etc (Same for GM, RAM, Toyota and Nissan trucks with the exception of some coil sprung axels) AND the author’s own 4Runner are proven, reliable and durable. True that they do ride more harshly, but put a load on them and the ride smooths right out. That is a design consideration. Do you want them to ride better at the expense of load and trailering capability? Otherwise, this is a great review of a potentially market changing product.
