I just discovered your channel. I had VSG in April 2018, also at Penn with Dr. Dumon. I loved their program and Dr. Dumon was terrific! Any Dr. who gets on his knees to help you tie your shoes at your 1st post-op because I was still in a little bit of pain put him way at the top of my recommendation list! Fast Forward 5 years, I've gained most of my weight back because I slacked up. I can admit it now. I'm currently on drug therapy to get back on track. I was on Ozempic until an insurance change. Wegovy for 1 month and currently dealing with a shortage so I was switched to Saxenda I will begin next week. Trying to avoid a revision. Thank you for your videos!
Thank you for all your insightful info and willingness to share your life. I binged watched most all your videos today. Same health struggles you had, but add 4 bowel surgeries, and my weight just went down hill after poor health and discovery of bad back (more sedentary oh lawd!) in the midst of that mess. (I was in so much pain from my gut due to complications & adhesions, that I could care less at the time how bad my back was bothering me) I was soooo hopeful to be on Ozempic, but bc of surgery induced gastroparesis that the med brought back with the slow emptying - and bowels simply couldn’t handle it bc bound up in adhesions. After 3 months I had to stop OZ, really disappointed. But the horrible pain that it eventually caused due to the gastro onset - food sitting in stomach too long, I just couldn’t handle it. You haven’t posted in a while, so hope all is well with you dear lady ❤
Your health history, surgeries and past medications are just like mine. I’m starting Ozempic tomorrow and PRAYING that is works for me the way it has for you! Thank you for this video!!! It helped to know I’m not alone with VSG, Contrave, Fibromyalgia etc.
Thank you for this video. I have no health issues but I’ve been having issues losing weight since I hit 40. I’ve been thinking of these medication but I don’t want to take them for life.
Thank you so much Kate! It's just hard having young kids and all the moms are 40's tops. Even my close friends don't seem to understand my pain or weight loss struggle. I love my girls so much but 13 1/2 lbs of twins can mess you up! I just keep going and try to find solutions in any way I can. Hope you are doing well too!
@@lindatakesitback8945 Oh my goodness, yes, I’m always looking for solutions too. Remember how I told you my Kaiser doctor here in California told me I couldn’t get Ozempic because they’re currently not using it for weight loss? She suggested I try phentermine. I was hesitant at first, but ultimately decided to try it. Week one was very successful. Down 6.4 lbs. I don’t expect every week to be this much, however. The only side effect I’ve noticed so far is constipation, so Benefiber to the rescue. So proud of you though, you’re doing great!
