Undertale is basically built on ludonarrative dissonance! And because the seed of the game is about the ethics of killing in fiction, I would argue this is the thing that makes it a masterpiece. What a fascinating question!

World systems like the chaos system in dishonored and having actual pass/fail states with consequences is how you can make choices matter. This persons pov is why we have so many games with pseudo choices…
I saw another video where this guy had some interesting insights. But honestly, Heaven's Vault looks like ass. It's Clutch Cargo the Game for middle-aged women who like solitaire & jigsaw puzzles.
