You underestimate Cait. I am replaying ff7 cause I feel like I didn't use Cait or red enough. Cait is a monster. His spin move has s, his dismount/remount seems to also have s. Summoning the moogle through let's ride or triangle does aoe when the moogle lands. I think all characters are well balanced.
i cant agree, she will need to depend on the atb ward to excel. and even the arcane ward to go S along with the doppelganger. so i would agree with the rank so far
Shes too versatile to be that low. She doesn't hit hard as consistent as Tifa but she doesn't need as much atb to be viable. And to top it off she doesn't need to use MP for most enemies with her magic ninjutsu.
first strike + atb boost fight starts, get to 2 bars, use Doppler ganger, atb boost, change to the element your enemy is weak to, then throw out shooting star. very simple imo
She does too little damage to be S tier. The only two things I think are standout are brutal stance for certain fights and having every element at the ready. Even with doppelgänger and all her other buffs she doesn’t do as much damage as tifa aerith or cloud.
Cloud is a solid S tier imo. Prime mode, synergy actions and his counter abilities generate a bunch of atb, damaged and further buff himself. Both mage or fighter build are insanely good. Probably the easiest character to do a no damaged run in boss fights.
@@cerberus9422 combat is an easily S tier character in solo due to the counter options to build up atb insanely fast.Both mage or pyhsical build are great because of Cloud's weapon choices and stats. I don't think Cloud is weaker than Tifa or Zack in combat with proper builds. And he is learning curve is way easier than both of the two characters which require you good at stagger combo and precise inputs to be op. In plot Cloud is among the strongest character. Among the elite 1st class soldiers pyhiscally but mentally is mess up by Septh.
@@costa1148 imo Tifa should be in Tier A in terms of plot. Because, unlike her, Cloud and Sephiroth are able to fight and drive vehicles at the same time, and not just drive and perform complex stunts
What’s insane about this combat system is I think every character can be S tier, and the legendary bouts kinda of test or force you to optimize and learn how to bring out the best in each character.
Yuffie is useful in basically any fight because she has 1) evasive maneuvers/abilities 2) easy elemental abilities and 3) she has a perfect combination of ranged and melee attacks
I think I 100% agree with this list other than I think Aerith is also S tier. Her spellbound blast is just so absurd. It does like 2 ATB move worths of damage, generates a whole ATB bar for 2 members, AND restores like 10% of her MP so she can spam out ATB spells like crazy, coupled that with her arcane and ATB ward, it just gets ridiculous.
Spoilers for anyone who somehow doesn't know the story yet: I absolutely love that two of the best characters are the two who were actually Soldier 1st Class. Zack always was that guy.

Bro Aerith is an S class if you build her right, example is MP absorption …etc. Her abilities such as Radiant ward and arcane ward are absolute must for magic users.
She is indeed very strong with magic, but so is everyone else as well, because anyone can use materia and they will simply trade her power for the ability to actually use magic much more often because of way better ATB charging. Aerith is still the best caster thanks to high magic, Transcendence and her 2 magic wards, but her ATB generation, mobility and survivability are the worst in the game and she only really excels with materia-heavy builds and in long fights. I'd actually place her a bit lower, even though I like using her. I'd say Barret is actually better simply because of how incredible his ATB generation is.
I prefer Cloud for magic. Fast atb generation, higher durability, dodges attacks more easily, and more fun to play since you can get up close and personal to the boss and do decent damage in between casts. I use Aerith for the arcane ward and comet synergy. Her magic stat is higher but Cloud can still get his to high 400s-low 500s which is plenty for any fight
Red is underrated for most people. He legit got me through a few stages of brutal challenge battles solo after other characters were KOd. He tanks hits, then builds insane pressure while being incredibly nimble in Vengeance. I put the build limit when blocking accessory on him and he’ll hit limit minimum 3 times in the longer battles. Dire situation use bloodfang, just used Vengeance up but hit limit, howling moon and your immediately back in it then use it for pressure building or party support.
Cloud, Aerith, and yuffie are S teir. Aerith can actually be the best character in the game if given the right metria arcane ward + magnify on any elemental metria is sooo broken its insane

Aerith is S most people place her lower because they see her only as a dps when in reality the wards are very useful like placing ATB and Radiant in the same place will generate atb quick (coupled with the butterfly) and you can use Doppelganger and arcane ward to stagger like crazy, also using arcane ward on radiant makes you invincible when casting and comes in handy when low in health. Chrono aegis also helps with dodging as it stops the enemies mid attack sometimes, as a dps Aerith is not that special but when you take both her dps and support capabilities she is a power house, I became to dependent on the wards invincibility and movement that I felt her absence every time she wasn’t in the party. The Aerith and Yuffie combo is probably the most broken one in the game imo.
The funny thing is we're running into an issue of Aerith's support and teleport being so good it hit diminishing returns. Since Tifa can already bust balls on her own, as an example, the excessive force of Aerith's support/mobility can be missed or bypassed completely. Hell, most synergy abilities/skills aren't even talked about. That's how these personal tier lists are being made. It's preference.
The Red slander. He's higher than Cait at least. I think his gimmick fun, unique, easy to learn, and it opens the door for learning the most important mechanic in the game for those who want to go beyond just mashing to win and thats perfect parry. Yes you can do it with everyone but with Red they WANT you do it because he gains all of his benefit by blocking so its win more to attempt to parry. You either block in time and build Vengeance or you parry, null damage, knockback, and still build Vengeance. His abilities also support his gimmick. Chilling Claw is underrated. Spend ATB to not block and do ice damage while increasing Venegence. After Chapter 10 Watcher's Respite actually comes in handy. Its not all good. I do see the draw backs. Like Cait he enters fights from a losing position. He has no unique ability at 100% health at the start of a fight and he must sort of be losing to gain those benefits. Vengeance Mode is powerful but only physically and not enough to make up for all of the time spent blocking when another character can get 2 ATB in that time and nuke. But I think he's at least better than Cait overall and is powerful, slow, but SAFE character that functions on his his own while Cait needs to burn a bar, and then level up the moogle's abilities without it dying
I am so glad that you put zack on the S tier, and red on the lowest position. For people who lack the ability to control, this rank would be opposite in that red's control is much easier than Zack's
Great video! I agree with most of your sentiments and would only change 1 or 2 spots myself. I'd actually place Yuffie next to Cloud just below top tier due to her insane toolkit and spammable invulnerable dodge. Corsair's with Storm's Fury into Banishment is one of the most complicated but also most powerful combos in the game. I'd place Barret over Aerith simply because of his amazing ATB generation. It cannot be understated how good he is at supporting a team. No one can do group buffs or easy set up like he can. I can't give major opinions about Zack or Sephiroth as I dont have enough experience using them haha
I admittedly don't have much experience with Yuffie, since I was really late to Intermission. My reasoning is that her dodges are crazy, but that her damage is a lot more difficult to make work than Tifa's. I guess I already explained it in the video.
Yuffie just needs Doppelganger and her damage becomes very workable. Supreme Art of War and Banishment alone are all the offense she needs as long as she has her double. She also has natural elemental access without the crap Folio skills and an ability that cancels hitstun. Her mobility is 2nd best in the game only after Cloud (and Sephiroth technically) and she is undisputedly the 2nd best air fighter. With Mug, she can juggle enemies and do endless Aerial combos while potentially granting herself Bravery and Faith if she succeeds at stealing. Windstorm and Shooting Star juggle enemy mobs with ease and she's the only character who can attack out of hitstun with Blindside. She just has an insane versatile kit, even by this game's standards. I can absolutely respect she shortcomings in DPS at battle start though since she needs 1 or 2 ATBs to hit peak. To be fair, virtually everyone does though.
@@BarretTheImmaculate The Doppelganger doubles up all of her regular attacks and abilities, like Arcane Ward but full-time and anywhere on the field. With elemental Ninjutsu, it staggers enemies far more rapidly, with Art of War she can deal Braver-like damage, and a tier 3 Banishment with the double out can hit 5 figure damage since it hits twice. Storm's Fury seems to be even stronger with it too.
Cait's best feature is LETS RIDE! First strike materia on, let's ride, hop off and let the moogle draw aggro. Ranged square attack X4, build atb and have one spare for every time the moogle dies and you basically have yourself a shield that's how I got to the legendary bout. It's just a little bit slow. Cait is also good for the debuff extension 50%. In a drawn-out fight where you are using the doll as a tank the best thing to do if you get two ATB is the summon magic cast whatever summon to do an attack, leave one bar still. I'm going to try to final fight again, probably on normal or dynamic at some point if I ever get the urge to play this after the extreme 450 to 500 hours half in the combat Sim. Tifa unfettered level 2 (automatic 1 and first strike, weapon) square hold cancel is amazing. Trinity strike was an extremely difficult move for me to get used to I'm still not used to it but it's supposed to be real good If you use the attack magic swap on Tifa her attack stat is the second best in the game. I used Barret to get through rulers of the outer world Red is really good in normal mode Yuffie is absolutely insane if you master her. Cloud is really good but this game makes him difficult because you have to perfect Dodge guard and party. I guess red has balanced stats. Aerith Yuffie Barret Extreme damage
The moment I saw you put yuffie in B tier I knew I couldn’t take this list serious lol how the hell is she B tier she’s damn near broken I say right under tifa for damage and her ultimate level 3 does the most damage in the game 😪
Interesting thing to note is Red has the best speed after folios on the game. So he really can build ATB up fast, especially when blocking properly. Underrated for sure
Hey man I have a question regarding the Genji gloves. Since it uncaps damage output for the wearer, does it also apply to the summons too? Like would Odin or Bahamut deal more damage with their ultimate attack if the wearer summons them? Would really appreciate an answer and tier lists are still awesome nowadays btw 🙏🏽. Keep it up

Sadly it doesn't, I have no idea why, their attacks still cap at 9999, I'm pretty sure their atb abilities also can't go beyond 9999 either but I don't think any of them could ever reach that number anyway tho
High braver can psuedo-bypass the 9999 on the final hit by using it from aerial (splits into multiple hits) so it’s even better than ground braver if they are staggered
Like many others, I definitely feel like Cloud was undercut. But mostly its because of his unique Berserk status and comparing his dps to the rest of the cast(not Tifa) he is like the epitome of S. As you mentioned, he is able to break damage cap easily with the gloves but also even without the gloves he is the only character to not require fury ring to reach his full maximum damage potential w/o stagger.
Tbf I'll give FF7 Rebirth this. All of the characters are good for one reason or the other. Ironically if it were not for Prime Mode and Cloud's general overtuning in terms of movement, attack speed, dodging, aerial combos etc. he would be below average which is technically still insanely good. Cloud's overall skill pool is just raw damage with no benefit that makes his game plan stronger other than Prime, Obtain Fury, and then go nuts. Even Cait who I think is on the opposite spectrum. I know his gimmick with the moogle but personally Reb does you no favors in teaching how to use it. Your two newest characters come with a one chapter cool down and I guess Chapter 9 is supposed to help sort of by immediately getting rid of the girls and then chapter 10 forcing him to go solo even just a little bit as party leader it's just not enough I'll give him this. Kitty Wallop is an insanely stupid move that does lots of damage and ATB regeneration with the caveat being Cait is locked into this animation. The problem with Cait is he comes into every fight with almost an anti- First Strike built into the character because he must sac one bar to get the party started. Which is a shame. He was rebuilt from the ground up and they could have at least allowed for Let's Ride to be activated upon entering a fight and when and if the moogle dies you have to spend a bar to get it back. And even better give you a dismiss function to dismiss the moogle so that Cait gets refunded a bar for the price of lossing a huge portion of his weapon ability kit and limit You're smoking crack if Yuffie isn't A. Yuffie is good at all ranges, can target elemental weapons and generate pressure with most standard enemies for free. She can buff most of her actions with Dopple, She has the highest ATB regen rate in the game without an ability active. And if it hasn't been stated...Brumal form is busted. Yes Yuffie needs haste, speed demon's keychain, and ATB ward to get the party going but becoming a battery for the party breaks most fights on hard mode. She turns Aerith into the spell slinging death machine that she needs to be. I get this is solo tier list but bottom of A is where she belongs. Tifa is right where she needs to be. Unfettered Fury is dumb. with both her Concentration abilities Rage and Fury is just dumb. You don't spend it. Tifa can generate tons of ATB by holding square to uppercut, letting it go, and then square again. She does palm thrust that for god knows what reason and this gives her a massive gain. That combined with Chi Trap which kind of breaks the conventions of a real time game. Its just a damage box that sits in Tifa's face and she can generate 2 of them. At times this is enough to break enemies invu frames and stun them - especially human characters. That and True Strike and she easily caps the Stagger damage % and it sucks it took me that long to realize this inspite of playing Remake. She just doesn't get access to Unfettered Fury until like Chapter 11 in a first playthrough. Zack is on paper S, in practice A, and realistically low A high B. I don't care how good he is on paper. He's not a character most people want to, can, or should master. You're done dirty by not getting a solo or something with Zack that forces you to learn his strengths and weaknesses. And that couldn't be any more obvious in Chapter 14 when you more than likely get to play him for the first time the game gives you an insane handicap. Its almost impossible for Seph to kill him unless you're that bad even on hard mode. They knew that giving Zack in the 11th hour and forcing you to learn him is not smart. And the same premise goes for Bonds of Friendship. If you're like me and did not start bonds but started all Brutal and Solo Challenges by the time you make it to BoF there's no fucking way. No one wants to learn this guy. I get that shouldn't take away from his actual ability but even the in practice portion sucks. Zack has decent stats so in raw movement speed, dodging, attack/magic, air combos, you can't argue he's one of the best characters in the game. But for him to out perform his peers his gimmick has to be mastered and his gimick sucks. I get it... If you can master quick charge cool but I can't and I didn't want to be bothered to learn because at this point in the game it wasnt' worth my time or patience. Is it fair to let the game's own pacing and where he shows up F with a tier list. Maybe not but I think some part of it affects Cait so same applies to Zack. A character who has a learning curb stuck at hour 180 of a 100% playthrough. Sephiroth is just. The opposite. Even if you just cannot play him the guy is easy mode. Hitting two buttons back to back like 10 times and you can cast his limit. and those 2 buttons.... generate huge ATB, can hit from 10 years away, and still does ridiculous damage. You can turn your brain off vs. Zack where you have to try and those two things mean an incredible difference
I disagree with b tier all exept cait, yuffie is busted and is on crack when playing she does physical and magical as well as elemental damage of her choosing, thats to me alone is just busted, red 13 goes in a tier yeah hes not overly good but you can pull some wicked damage moves from red, i agree with barret and areith, and bump cloud up to an S, he does probably IMO the most damage out the entire party depending on the circumstances, its easy to pull off 9999 attacks with cloud.
Aerith is S tier ain’t no way lol. She has the best limit breaks, can limit loop, one shot enemies with ice + swiftcast + Arcane Ward. Aerith is broken. Even without wards pairing her with synergy and Quake again she one shots. Everyone in this game is good as hell. All should be A tier and disrespect putting CLOUD below Tifa? Yea nah……he is the main character and all around great 1. Cloud 2. Aerith 3. Barret 4. Red 5. Tifa 6. Cait 7. Yuffie This is my ranking. I’ve 100% the game with the plat. My top 4 were the characters i used the cheese the brutal vr challenges.

So no he is still better than her seeing as he can increase his damage with prime mode and punish enemies while Tifa cannot. @@HeyImSupercoo I've soloed Outer Worlds with all characters and Aerith was the worst to solo with. She's a slow atb builder even with radiant ward. She shines when supported by atb assist but on her own it's miserable. Her limits also shine when there are others but are mostly useless solo. Now how's Tifa more vulnerable to damage than Cloud? Their perfect blocks are the same, Tifa has the better dodge. The gap between their max HP isn't large enough that Cloud would survive something that would kill Tifa. She's only one of 2 characters that can raise stagger damage, the only other one being Cait Sith. She builds atb gauge faster than almost everyone with only Barret being in contention. Trinity Strike hits for max damage x3 for 1 atb bar, no one gets close to that unless they waste an accessory slot on genji. Also, what do you mean Tifa can't increase her damage? Her whole shtick is about using unbridled strength/unfettered furry to buff her damage.
@@martidavid1519 Again Aerith + Magnify and Swiftcast any spell she decimates enemies. Cloud builds atb faster than her and that is a fact due to his air combat being the best one. He can counter enemies and perfect block and tifa can’t automatically makes him stronger. Her dealing alot of damage does not mean she is better. Sephiroth does not deal crazy damage but he is still op because he has the best dodge and unique ability giving him his limit break in seconds also beside his parry move. Cloud does not need to use an ability 2-3 times to buff himself one use of prime mode and it’s full animation he is buffed up. Tifa has to use unbridled 2 times to get the full effect. Cloud does not. We can also go off basic stats which show he is stronger. Better magic, vitality, defense, magic attack. Which is why i said he SHOULD be in S rank by default he is well rounded and it makes 0 sense how she is in it but he isn’t. Idk if i said it before but he has Ranged attacks and she does not. So yes he is better. Tifa is all only up close
I think overall i go Cloud, Zack and Sephiroth in S tier. Theyre all too good at everything. Aerith, Barret and Yuffie. All 3 can do everything very well with no real drawbacks. Just not as well as the big 3. Red and Cait Sith i think go into B tier because they do have notable weaknesses and things they cant do. Red cant do air combat, and cait cant do much of his good shit without others to take heat for him for a while. In dead last I place Tifa. She's a glass Cannon in a game full of attacks that can seriously damage the tanks. I'm CONSTANTLY reviving tifa, just for her to be there for a single stagger before getting one shot again. She's the only character where, when I'm just using her on non staggered enemies I find myself asking "What do you even do?" Aerith can have this same issue too, but at least when she's set up with wards she becomes unstoppable. Tifa just dies lol

Man im not gonna lie, by the time you did this video you either didn't bother at all to play yuffie or you don't understand how she plays, the fact that you have barret and aerith above yuffie its crazy.. You legit cannot play aerith without genji gloves or if you do she is legit a ward bot, barret its leggit a tank, they both serve their purpose but yuffie and cloud they can do everything.. And im not trying to say that aerith and Barret are bad, but they have one role in the party, yuffie can do anything with way less requirements.

I played with Red a lot during my playthrough, and I just couldn’t get anything going with him. I think a lot of people think Tifa is better than she actually is because it’s pretty easy to figure her loop out and she does pretty good numbers, but she plateaus pretty quickly in my opinion. Barret is just, I don’t know… LOL I’d love to see any of these characters get figured out and do crazy stuff. I think it’s fun to watch people come up with new strategies._*

Spell blade is definitely a fantastic synergy and doesn't get talked about much. I've also seen people use counterfire to insane effect. There's a lot in this game and so you just do whatever lol
Zack probably is above cloud but he’s incredibly hard to use. I suck terribly w him, so for me playing I would put him low, but a pro I definitely see putting him in S tier

Bro Aerith is an S class if you build her right, example is MP absorption …etc. Her abilities such as Radiant ward and arcane ward are absolute must for magic users.
She is indeed very strong with magic, but so is everyone else as well, because anyone can use materia and they will simply trade her power for the ability to actually use magic much more often because of way better ATB charging.
Aerith is still the best caster thanks to high magic, Transcendence and her 2 magic wards, but her ATB generation, mobility and survivability are the worst in the game and she only really excels with materia-heavy builds and in long fights.
I'd actually place her a bit lower, even though I like using her. I'd say Barret is actually better simply because of how incredible his ATB generation is.
I prefer Cloud for magic. Fast atb generation, higher durability, dodges attacks more easily, and more fun to play since you can get up close and personal to the boss and do decent damage in between casts. I use Aerith for the arcane ward and comet synergy. Her magic stat is higher but Cloud can still get his to high 400s-low 500s which is plenty for any fight
Red is underrated for most people. He legit got me through a few stages of brutal challenge battles solo after other characters were KOd. He tanks hits, then builds insane pressure while being incredibly nimble in Vengeance. I put the build limit when blocking accessory on him and he’ll hit limit minimum 3 times in the longer battles. Dire situation use bloodfang, just used Vengeance up but hit limit, howling moon and your immediately back in it then use it for pressure building or party support.
Cloud, Aerith, and yuffie are S teir. Aerith can actually be the best character in the game if given the right metria arcane ward + magnify on any elemental metria is sooo broken its insane

Aerith is S most people place her lower because they see her only as a dps when in reality the wards are very useful like placing ATB and Radiant in the same place will generate atb quick (coupled with the butterfly) and you can use Doppelganger and arcane ward to stagger like crazy, also using arcane ward on radiant makes you invincible when casting and comes in handy when low in health. Chrono aegis also helps with dodging as it stops the enemies mid attack sometimes, as a dps Aerith is not that special but when you take both her dps and support capabilities she is a power house, I became to dependent on the wards invincibility and movement that I felt her absence every time she wasn’t in the party.
The Aerith and Yuffie combo is probably the most broken one in the game imo.
The funny thing is we're running into an issue of Aerith's support and teleport being so good it hit diminishing returns. Since Tifa can already bust balls on her own, as an example, the excessive force of Aerith's support/mobility can be missed or bypassed completely. Hell, most synergy abilities/skills aren't even talked about. That's how these personal tier lists are being made. It's preference.

The Red slander. He's higher than Cait at least. I think his gimmick fun, unique, easy to learn, and it opens the door for learning the most important mechanic in the game for those who want to go beyond just mashing to win and thats perfect parry. Yes you can do it with everyone but with Red they WANT you do it because he gains all of his benefit by blocking so its win more to attempt to parry. You either block in time and build Vengeance or you parry, null damage, knockback, and still build Vengeance.
His abilities also support his gimmick. Chilling Claw is underrated. Spend ATB to not block and do ice damage while increasing Venegence. After Chapter 10 Watcher's Respite actually comes in handy.
Its not all good. I do see the draw backs. Like Cait he enters fights from a losing position. He has no unique ability at 100% health at the start of a fight and he must sort of be losing to gain those benefits. Vengeance Mode is powerful but only physically and not enough to make up for all of the time spent blocking when another character can get 2 ATB in that time and nuke.
But I think he's at least better than Cait overall and is powerful, slow, but SAFE character that functions on his his own while Cait needs to burn a bar, and then level up the moogle's abilities without it dying
I am so glad that you put zack on the S tier, and red on the lowest position. For people who lack the ability to control, this rank would be opposite in that red's control is much easier than Zack's

Great video! I agree with most of your sentiments and would only change 1 or 2 spots myself. I'd actually place Yuffie next to Cloud just below top tier due to her insane toolkit and spammable invulnerable dodge. Corsair's with Storm's Fury into Banishment is one of the most complicated but also most powerful combos in the game.
I'd place Barret over Aerith simply because of his amazing ATB generation. It cannot be understated how good he is at supporting a team. No one can do group buffs or easy set up like he can.
I can't give major opinions about Zack or Sephiroth as I dont have enough experience using them haha
I admittedly don't have much experience with Yuffie, since I was really late to Intermission. My reasoning is that her dodges are crazy, but that her damage is a lot more difficult to make work than Tifa's. I guess I already explained it in the video.
Yuffie just needs Doppelganger and her damage becomes very workable. Supreme Art of War and Banishment alone are all the offense she needs as long as she has her double.
She also has natural elemental access without the crap Folio skills and an ability that cancels hitstun. Her mobility is 2nd best in the game only after Cloud (and Sephiroth technically) and she is
undisputedly the 2nd best air fighter.
With Mug, she can juggle enemies and do endless Aerial combos while potentially granting herself Bravery and Faith if she succeeds at stealing. Windstorm and Shooting Star juggle enemy mobs with ease and she's the only character who can attack out of hitstun with Blindside.
She just has an insane versatile kit, even by this game's standards. I can absolutely respect she shortcomings in DPS at battle start though since she needs 1 or 2 ATBs to hit peak. To be fair, virtually everyone does though.

@@BarretTheImmaculate The Doppelganger doubles up all of her regular attacks and abilities, like Arcane Ward but full-time and anywhere on the field. With elemental Ninjutsu, it staggers enemies far more rapidly, with Art of War she can deal Braver-like damage, and a tier 3 Banishment with the double out can hit 5 figure damage since it hits twice. Storm's Fury seems to be even stronger with it too.

Retaliation stance is rly good once you get used to how it works imo, the parry counter damage can be insane depending on what you counter iirc
Cait's best feature is LETS RIDE! First strike materia on, let's ride, hop off and let the moogle draw aggro. Ranged square attack X4, build atb and have one spare for every time the moogle dies and you basically have yourself a shield that's how I got to the legendary bout.
It's just a little bit slow. Cait is also good for the debuff extension 50%.
In a drawn-out fight where you are using the doll as a tank the best thing to do if you get two ATB is the summon magic cast whatever summon to do an attack, leave one bar still. I'm going to try to final fight again, probably on normal or dynamic at some point if I ever get the urge to play this after the extreme 450 to 500 hours half in the combat Sim.
Tifa unfettered level 2 (automatic 1 and first strike, weapon) square hold cancel is amazing.
Trinity strike was an extremely difficult move for me to get used to I'm still not used to it but it's supposed to be real good
If you use the attack magic swap on Tifa her attack stat is the second best in the game.

Yuffie is absolutely insane if you master her. Cloud is really good but this game makes him difficult because you have to perfect Dodge guard and party.

Hey man I have a question regarding the Genji gloves. Since it uncaps damage output for the wearer, does it also apply to the summons too? Like would Odin or Bahamut deal more damage with their ultimate attack if the wearer summons them?

Sadly it doesn't, I have no idea why, their attacks still cap at 9999, I'm pretty sure their atb abilities also can't go beyond 9999 either but I don't think any of them could ever reach that number anyway tho
High braver can psuedo-bypass the 9999 on the final hit by using it from aerial (splits into multiple hits) so it’s even better than ground braver if they are staggered
Like many others, I definitely feel like Cloud was undercut. But mostly its because of his unique Berserk status and comparing his dps to the rest of the cast(not Tifa) he is like the epitome of S.
As you mentioned, he is able to break damage cap easily with the gloves but also even without the gloves he is the only character to not require fury ring to reach his full maximum damage potential w/o stagger.
Sephiroth, Cloud, Tifa and Yuffie are S Tier. They are the four emperors of the game.
Tifa is the most original and fun default character, I completely agree. Cait Sith for me is the worst mechanic, the rest I think is very well done

Tbf I'll give FF7 Rebirth this. All of the characters are good for one reason or the other. Ironically if it were not for Prime Mode and Cloud's general overtuning in terms of movement, attack speed, dodging, aerial combos etc. he would be below average which is technically still insanely good. Cloud's overall skill pool is just raw damage with no benefit that makes his game plan stronger other than Prime, Obtain Fury, and then go nuts.
Even Cait who I think is on the opposite spectrum. I know his gimmick with the moogle but personally Reb does you no favors in teaching how to use it. Your two newest characters come with a one chapter cool down and I guess Chapter 9 is supposed to help sort of by immediately getting rid of the girls and then chapter 10 forcing him to go solo even just a little bit as party leader it's just not enough
I'll give him this. Kitty Wallop is an insanely stupid move that does lots of damage and ATB regeneration with the caveat being Cait is locked into this animation. The problem with Cait is he comes into every fight with almost an anti- First Strike built into the character because he must sac one bar to get the party started. Which is a shame. He was rebuilt from the ground up and they could have at least allowed for Let's Ride to be activated upon entering a fight and when and if the moogle dies you have to spend a bar to get it back. And even better give you a dismiss function to dismiss the moogle so that Cait gets refunded a bar for the price of lossing a huge portion of his weapon ability kit and limit
You're smoking crack if Yuffie isn't A. Yuffie is good at all ranges, can target elemental weapons and generate pressure with most standard enemies for free. She can buff most of her actions with Dopple, She has the highest ATB regen rate in the game without an ability active. And if it hasn't been stated...Brumal form is busted. Yes Yuffie needs haste, speed demon's keychain, and ATB ward to get the party going but becoming a battery for the party breaks most fights on hard mode. She turns Aerith into the spell slinging death machine that she needs to be. I get this is solo tier list but bottom of A is where she belongs.
Tifa is right where she needs to be. Unfettered Fury is dumb. with both her Concentration abilities Rage and Fury is just dumb. You don't spend it. Tifa can generate tons of ATB by holding square to uppercut, letting it go, and then square again. She does palm thrust that for god knows what reason and this gives her a massive gain. That combined with Chi Trap which kind of breaks the conventions of a real time game. Its just a damage box that sits in Tifa's face and she can generate 2 of them. At times this is enough to break enemies invu frames and stun them - especially human characters. That and True Strike and she easily caps the Stagger damage % and it sucks it took me that long to realize this inspite of playing Remake. She just doesn't get access to Unfettered Fury until like Chapter 11 in a first playthrough.
Zack is on paper S, in practice A, and realistically low A high B. I don't care how good he is on paper. He's not a character most people want to, can, or should master. You're done dirty by not getting a solo or something with Zack that forces you to learn his strengths and weaknesses. And that couldn't be any more obvious in Chapter 14 when you more than likely get to play him for the first time the game gives you an insane handicap. Its almost impossible for Seph to kill him unless you're that bad even on hard mode. They knew that giving Zack in the 11th hour and forcing you to learn him is not smart.
And the same premise goes for Bonds of Friendship. If you're like me and did not start bonds but started all Brutal and Solo Challenges by the time you make it to BoF there's no fucking way. No one wants to learn this guy. I get that shouldn't take away from his actual ability but even the in practice portion sucks. Zack has decent stats so in raw movement speed, dodging, attack/magic, air combos, you can't argue he's one of the best characters in the game. But for him to out perform his peers his gimmick has to be mastered and his gimick sucks. I get it...
If you can master quick charge cool but I can't and I didn't want to be bothered to learn because at this point in the game it wasnt' worth my time or patience. Is it fair to let the game's own pacing and where he shows up F with a tier list. Maybe not but I think some part of it affects Cait so same applies to Zack. A character who has a learning curb stuck at hour 180 of a 100% playthrough.
Sephiroth is just. The opposite. Even if you just cannot play him the guy is easy mode. Hitting two buttons back to back like 10 times and you can cast his limit. and those 2 buttons.... generate huge ATB, can hit from 10 years away, and still does ridiculous damage. You can turn your brain off vs. Zack where you have to try and those two things mean an incredible difference

I disagree with b tier all exept cait, yuffie is busted and is on crack when playing she does physical and magical as well as elemental damage of her choosing, thats to me alone is just busted, red 13 goes in a tier yeah hes not overly good but you can pull some wicked damage moves from red, i agree with barret and areith, and bump cloud up to an S, he does probably IMO the most damage out the entire party depending on the circumstances, its easy to pull off 9999 attacks with cloud.

Even without wards pairing her with synergy and Quake again she one shots. Everyone in this game is good as hell. All should be A tier and disrespect putting CLOUD below Tifa? Yea nah……he is the main character and all around great

This is my ranking. I’ve 100% the game with the plat. My top 4 were the characters i used the cheese the brutal vr challenges.
Aerith is the worst character to solo with. Tifa has the highest damage output of all characters, she completely outdamages cloud.

So no he is still better than her seeing as he can increase his damage with prime mode and punish enemies while Tifa cannot. Yea she deals alot but she can’t survive like Cloud can and isn’t versatile while Cloud is
@@HeyImSupercoo I've soloed Outer Worlds with all characters and Aerith was the worst to solo with. She's a slow atb builder even with radiant ward. She shines when supported by atb assist but on her own it's miserable. Her limits also shine when there are others but are mostly useless solo.
Now how's Tifa more vulnerable to damage than Cloud? Their perfect blocks are the same, Tifa has the better dodge. The gap between their max HP isn't large enough that Cloud would survive something that would kill Tifa. She's only one of 2 characters that can raise stagger damage, the only other one being Cait Sith. She builds atb gauge faster than almost everyone with only Barret being in contention. Trinity Strike hits for max damage x3 for 1 atb bar, no one gets close to that unless they waste an accessory slot on genji. Also, what do you mean Tifa can't increase her damage? Her whole shtick is about using unbridled strength/unfettered furry to buff her damage.

He can counter enemies and perfect block and tifa can’t automatically makes him stronger. Her dealing alot of damage does not mean she is better. Sephiroth does not deal crazy damage but he is still op because he has the best dodge and unique ability giving him his limit break in seconds also beside his parry move. Cloud does not need to use an ability 2-3 times to buff himself one use of prime mode and it’s full animation he is buffed up. Tifa has to use unbridled 2 times to get the full effect. Cloud does not. We can also go off basic stats which show he is stronger. Better magic, vitality, defense, magic attack. Which is why i said he SHOULD be in S rank by default he is well rounded and it makes 0 sense how she is in it but he isn’t. Idk if i said it before but he has Ranged attacks and she does not. So yes he is better. Tifa is all only up close

Aerith, Barret and Yuffie. All 3 can do everything very well with no real drawbacks. Just not as well as the big 3.
Red and Cait Sith i think go into B tier because they do have notable weaknesses and things they cant do. Red cant do air combat, and cait cant do much of his good shit without others to take heat for him for a while.
In dead last I place Tifa. She's a glass Cannon in a game full of attacks that can seriously damage the tanks. I'm CONSTANTLY reviving tifa, just for her to be there for a single stagger before getting one shot again. She's the only character where, when I'm just using her on non staggered enemies I find myself asking "What do you even do?" Aerith can have this same issue too, but at least when she's set up with wards she becomes unstoppable. Tifa just dies lol

Man im not gonna lie, by the time you did this video you either didn't bother at all to play yuffie or you don't understand how she plays, the fact that you have barret and aerith above yuffie its crazy.. You legit cannot play aerith without genji gloves or if you do she is legit a ward bot, barret its leggit a tank, they both serve their purpose but yuffie and cloud they can do everything.. And im not trying to say that aerith and Barret are bad, but they have one role in the party, yuffie can do anything with way less requirements.

I’m telling you, give it a couple months or maybe a year, and these two will top the tier lists easily. People are just still understanding and piecing together the loop for these two, myself included._*

I played with Red a lot during my playthrough, and I just couldn’t get anything going with him. I think a lot of people think Tifa is better than she actually is because it’s pretty easy to figure her loop out and she does pretty good numbers, but she plateaus pretty quickly in my opinion. Barret is just, I don’t know… LOL I’d love to see any of these characters get figured out and do crazy stuff. I think it’s fun to watch people come up with new strategies._*

Spell blade is definitely a fantastic synergy and doesn't get talked about much. I've also seen people use counterfire to insane effect. There's a lot in this game and so you just do whatever lol
