I'm just starting with Blender, and this video made my day. Thanks a lot, good sir. I really appreciate your efford to explain almost every corner of 3D
For the addon-hesitant: An easily overlooked benefit of Blender addons is that unlike other "plugin" ecosystems, you can open them up, learn how they work, and reuse pieces of them. The big ones are both a tool and a masterclass in how to do whatever it is quickly, reliably, and at scale from scratch. You can "learn to do everything yourself" in part by analyzing addons.
Also they are less susceptable to breakage because of updates in random parts of your tool chain. Thus I'm less hesitant to buy, use and perhaps even rely on them.
This was so informative! Thank you for this! I just got into blender a month ago and started making my own characters! Hoping to make a short film by the end of h the year!

One of the best videos on Blender out there. Can you please create at least 30 seconds scene using more than one Addons, essentially human, environment, dust and lightning
Ngl, I love this video, but this also shows the reasons why I choose UE over Blender. UE is a bit more new to film & TV, and the asset problem is still an asset problem to some degree, but the built in sequencer, Luma, updated rendering tech, etc... My PC would cook like a roast chicken attempting to render a scene in blender. (I tried, it did not go well) I don't have that issue with UE.
UE is better at what it does yes but blender is not an alternative to UE, it offers a billion other features. Besides, blender also comes with a new renderer now that can even render in real time with really, really good results.
@@phee3D I have seen that. But I still can't use it if it turns my PC into fried chicken lol. In good time maybe I can replace mine and give it a try. Unless blender has dose something with their platform that won't tax my PC so hard.
As someone just getting into both Blender and Unreal, i am confused as to which one i should learn. I know Blender is better for modeling, but unreal has great potential for making movies. Lots of great assets, great for larger scenes and terrains, lighting, animations, etc. I'm looking to create a lot of character and tech assets in Blender (with maybe help from AI), then migrate them to Unreal to make my movie. Do you suggest another method? Thanks. :)
"Better" used or the "industry standards" is highly subjective. Maya is entrenched in the industry but subjectively most of us Blender users (that I know) prefer Blender (and UE) over all others in the industry. Blenders 2025 "Secret Project" is right around the corner along with the other Animation Projects they have been working on. Major studios have been donating as well. Blender will be the singularity for every need in the very near future. People consider the "industry standards" like Maya to be more polished but Blender has made massive strides especially recently. It's the no brainer tool of choice in my opinion.
There are also alot of free add-ons. Maybe not exactly what you are looking for but can still help. There are videos like every month that cover the top free add-ons. Worth checking out.

Blender has always interested me but heard its a steep learning curve. Can you recommend where to start in terms of resources for a beginner? Interests are Forensic Architecture, sci fi horror, dystopian landscape blended with sculptural elements. Thanks
7:30 also no point in rendering a perfect model if the most you plan someone on watching is on your phone or on a pc at 1080p. Especially for social media posts
So, I have a question. You were very eloquent and engaging, and I'm trying to animate a scene from a book that hasn't been animated yet but deserves more attention. I've started sculpting one of the characters, but I hate searching for tutorials because there are so many creators who follow TH-cam studio tips and make their tutorials unnecessarily long and over-explanatory. Do you have any recommendations for a TH-cam series that doesn't constantly ask to 'smash that like and subscribe button' or have a 15-second dubstep intro? Specifically, I'm looking for content on sculpting, rigging, and animating. That is like your video: eloquent and engaging?
How much would all of those add ons and extras actually cost? I want to save as much time as possible for a project like this, it sounds like most of its free anyway but I have fairly small budget 100 to 150 AUD for the time being.
I've got a lot of addons. They haven't made me a world classmodeler or animator. They can make life easier.if you've already used other modeling tools or software or have background, perhaps extensive experience, sure these tips will help or they may be telling you what you already know/knew. Either way, nothing replaces putting the time and effort in. I don't. That easily explains why I'm not a world class animator or modeler. Regardless of skill level or tool(s) used, nothing will replace a mastery of the fundamentals, the basics. Or change the fact that those making industrial strength animation aren't doing it on most home computers or laptops or without access to render farms. With or without any of that it will still take time, effort and investment. The scrolling screens of all the people involved in various aspects of major productions should provide some insight into the effort involved. A DIY project even with all the tools and insights here won't change that. You are still a studio of one.
P.S. Everybody starts somewhere. The simple difference between those who succeed and those who don't is in the starting and not stopping until they do. There's that
I want to use blender to rewrite ruby gilman for dermwokes because i want ruby and chelsea be girlfenides and with a amazing development and the villan chelsea's mhoter nersisa please can you teach me how to do it?
