    I really like the system of connecting the neck to the center of the chest cavity, a lot of free movement but everything is hidden well.

      Good point! Free movement is the whole idea.

    I did what you said, and stuck the sticky bits of paper all over my head. The mess was horrendous. I realised I was making a mistake when I couldn't see what I was doing. Oh well, next time I'll know...to put vaseline on my head first. What a dummy!!!

    Hi Arlee - thanks for this and all your other videos demonstrating your skills. Instead of a blade and a screwdriver to cut open the papier mache, have you tried a Dremmel tool with a circular blade? Its also very useful for other small work too as there as so many attachments to choice from

    Arlee here's stuff to made clay .
    White glue 500 . Vinger 6 or 8 tablespoons. Wheat flour 400. Cement 400. Paper towels about 20 lay them out and cut them in fours . Mix the glue and paper towels together. Then mix flour with cement dry mix .then add the dry cement with the glue then add 6 to8 tablespoons of vinegar to the rest of the stuff. Use rubber gloves to mix everthing together. Over night it will be hard as a rock.use a messaging cup .it holds up to water
    Good luck . From Richard

    Nice job Arlee, my 4 Grandchildren are bugging me to make something like these for them so they can put on a show for all of us. I happened to come across your channel and was watching a few of your other videos and decided to give it a try. I subscribed and looked at your Etsy Page. Nice content there too! I will let you know how things go!

    The Sculpt a Marionette String Puppet Head Video link does not seem to work ? Any new links or where can it be found ? Wondering about the process and the type of clay to use?

    This is not a paper mache work. Paper mache is made with glue and flour and is a dough. This technique can be called papier collé, when you only use paper and glue.

    Learn to tie a "square knot" and you'll make fewer knots, save time, and it'll be more secure.

    Why do Americans pronounce the mâché word in the French style but neglect to do so with 'paper'? It's papier-mâché.

    The clay head tho....

    • @IaEnstera
      @IaEnstera 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I'm not quite understanding why not just use a balloon, egg cartons (for ears, etc), masking tape, paper, and glue. The clay seems quite cumbersome, and hard to remove. With the balloon technique, you just pop the balloon and no cutting the dried paper mâché.

    • @darkforestzombie218
      @darkforestzombie218 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@IaEnstera yeah. Also I meant it looked wierd. I completely agree that using clay ia absolutely *p o i n t l e s s* they're making it harder than it needs to be 😑

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@IaEnstera clay is a better medium to sculpt and get a specific expression. You can use balloons but you get a different expressiveness.

      @@darkforestzombie218 if you just put paper mache over a balloon, it's just going to be shaped like a balloon. The clay head is the shape they want/need.
