these vids were my trial and error vids. If you in the zone of modding a grom, stay away from billet hubs front and rear unless you get stainless steel screws, factory screws will snap on a bad crash, happened to me 3x. axles and hubs all work well, I just gota a defective typhon. its the only one with the housing issues. I now own 11 groms now, and none of them gave me the headache like the red typhon. lol
I'm watching your videos again and I hope that arrma will make a slipper clutch for the typhon grom and granite grom that would help for stripping the differential 😊
Thanks for sharing all this valuable information. I have been shopping for Typhon Grom parts and this really helps. It just seems like the Granite Grom is better supported right now but the Typhon will probably catch up as more people buy them. I really like the tires you used for the street and I ordered some. I also ordered some Granite Grom tires to try offroad as I had no idea what other wider tires would work. It's a really cool 1/18 scale.
Glad it was helpful! All granite grom suspension parts fit the typhon. Only thing that don’t fit is the drive shaft and the drive shaft cover because its longer but other than , everything else fits. Thanks for watching. ✌🏾
I have the upgraded arrma diffs, and the GPS diff covers, the front diff cover had to have the center cut out to fit flush, the rear was no problems, front and rear arms fit well as well as the HR axle shafts. I have no binding what so ever!
Hey man good video and I have a typhon grom i just bought a few days ago and I want to upgrade my buggy also but I'm going to wait until they come out with adjustable turn buckles so I can fine tune the suspension so it will handle better 😊👍
you dont have to wait.. they have some available for other 1/14 scale cars that will fit.. you just need to do some small modifications to get them to fit.. I did it and they work. I will do a vid soon..
Thanks bro. Honestly, i didnt buy from a site, i purchased on ebay. Search for granite grom billet upgrades and list of parts and sellers pop up and i just ordered. Its all GPM aluminum parts too. All granite upgrades fit the typhon..
Hey dude, the diffs are all the same. I got metal diffs to fit no problem, it’s tighter fit so you got to spin center axle while pushing diff in, plastic stock diff cover snaps on and stock shocks still work…. Metal diffs with 3000cc oil work great for street speed runs, I also installed shaft and hex mod kit for axles to wheels.. just need good speed run tires…. And I’m all set
Can you elaborate more on the steering part I didn’t quite understand it. What’s a billet sorry I’m new to this hobby. I also want to remove the sloppiness from the steering. Thanks.
Yea, i took the pins from the upper a-arms and switched them with the pins that are on the steering assembly.. they are a little longer but still allow you to put the drive shaft cover on. The slop is in the pins. If you can get the pins in the steering to be tighter, it will remove the slop. Give it a try.
All of the billet upgrades are from ebay. You have to search for arrma granite grom billet upgrades, & boom all types of parts and sellers pop up and you just shop around. Thats what i did. No specific site unfortunately.
Awesome video. Just really getting into my Typhon Grom but the thing is a blast. What site did you get the GPM stuff from and i think it was the blue Grom but where did you get that bumper from? gain great video thanks for taking the time to make it.
Thx bro. The bumper is a granite grom bumper. Direct fit. The billet parts are from various ebay sellers.. look up granite grom billets upgrades in ebay. All the parts fit the typhon. The gpm pieces will pop up
@@MrMeDos Ya you are the one i got the idea from for the bumper. Just ordered that. They are hard to find all of a sudden. Question on the billet parts. I saw a bunch of videos where guys have said stay away from them as the molded pieces are a lot better. Your thoughts on that? Oh and the wheelie bar im copying from you to love that look.
i been super busy bro, sorry your diffs broke. i just understand why at 30+mph they broke?. so far mine are the original ones (not metal or upgraded ones) and they still alive lol. maybe it was the batch of the thyphons or granites groms, thank you for sharing !!!!!
Lmao, I don’t know bro. I’m not a hard basher on any of my rigs I just think I got defective diffs. I dont know. For sure the diff are not designed for highspeed they will eventually break. Its only a matter of time and throttle squeeze. You jam the throttle from a dead stop, they will break with the power these motors putting out for sure. Seeing your vids lets me know high speeds are possible, i just need a spot to run them.
So there’s only one kind of deaths and they are common between both of the Grom vehicles Absolutely larger tires blew both of my diffs in 20 minutes of bashing
ebay.. type in "arrma granite grom GPM upgrades".. and a list of parts will pop up.. thats what I did, and just took my time to find the cheapest parts from the same seller and checked out..
You should have waited for the suspension arms because I think they will have some with adjustable turnbuckles so you can adjust your camber that's what I want 😎👍
Its all good bro. Ima buy one more once the unpainted bodies release and do a green version and use them then. Hopefully the nascar groms make them rush some other parts that will fit the typhon as well

Ok the reason behind the slop bro its made that way so when you crash it gives alittle bit notice all four corners on any offroad basher there kinda lose ish for impact now that you did that soon as hit something head on everything is going to snap because it's so tight goodluck
Thx. Goal is not to hit something by staying straight.. 😂😂😂. These maybe some of my favorite pocket rocket rc.. these are on road buggies. They dont have enough clearance to enjoy off road where i bash so i need less slop to stay straight. 👍

I heard the problem is upgrade axels dont always work with upgrade diff cups

nice. that is fast man. i know it was screaming

When I first got started in rc cars 20 years ago I tried foam tires and I never use them again since I stayed with rubber tires 😁👍
